  1. I too have tried adipex just gain back and be seriously disapointed. I was 225 when I was banded. I've reached my goal weight of 150 and I'm wearing size 8s and 6s. I'm also 5'4. I might try to get off another 5 pounds or so but I'd look like a skeleton at 125. Just my body type I guess. My 1st question is have you had your thyroid checked? Maybe there's a medical reason you are having so much trouble losing. It could also be between the adipex and low carb your metabolisms all out of wack? That being said if I weighed 175 and could maintain it I don't think I'd be banded. The key word being "maintain" were all capeable of losing it's the keeping it off we suck at. And I'm by no means judging I lost weight both on adipex and low carb just to gain back each time. Hopefully you can figure out what's gonna work long term for you. Whatever you decide keep us posted!!

  2. Sweetie you look fanfreakingtastic!!! you have been great motivator to everyone who crosses your path! you definitely helped motivate me to goal!! Cant wait to see how you look after a year of weight training!! im gonna be starting myself soon! i have a good friend thats a trainer thsat offered to help me for free. I start as soon as i kick the rest of this nasty flu!! i love you and you look great!!

  3. The self image thing has definitely been hard for me. sometimes i just can't picture myself as a thin person. I'me a size 6 or 8 now and sometimes still find myself looking at 16s and 18s.

sometimes its hard just to get over the way people treat you. men in particular. Anywhere i go now doors get opened. drinks get bought by guys who would'nt have paid me any attention 75lbs ago. That and a whole lot of my girlfriends are funny acting now. They were all happy and supportive until i got smaller than some of them. Now they say i look anorexic and need to eat. i think just the difference in the way people treat you is so dramatic at times its no wonder some of us are insecure.

a big step for me was besides tshirts and work out clothes i gave away everything in my closet that was too big.It was harder to get a good look at the new me in clothes 6 sizes too big.

but it does start to get better. Ive taken a lot of pics along the way. so when i feel insecure and fat i can look and see the difference. thats helped a lot. and another thing im trying to learn is how to take a complement. we all need to learn that. So when someone says how great i look now i just say thank you, instead of saying no i dont. or that im still fat. We all need to learn this. and ladies you all look fantastic!!

  4. unfortunately, there is never gonna be away to stop stress, hormonal eating and the things that trigger them. But you did a great job stopping yourself. That is a success and you handled it properly. Just like eating in certain social situations like birthdays and weddings stress eating situations are going to happen. Even our girlfriends that have been thin life long crave chocolate when they PMS or wanna eat ice cream when they fight with their boyfriends.

When this happens to me i generally indulge but only to a certain extent. I have 2 or 3 oreos instead of the 12 i previously would have had. one of the things i love about the band. Even when i screw up the band only lets me screw up to a certain extent. I have a 1/2 cup of ice cream instead of a half gallon now. part of my general approach to this has been not making any food forbidden. for me telling myself i cant have a cookie is a sure way to make sure i end up eating half the bag before the nights over. but i also have a rule now that anything i eat over today im gonna make myself work off in the next few days.

my best advice to a slip up is be over and done with it after it happens. I don't let mondays Cookies be the reason i feel so bad i eat chips on tuesday anymore. realistically slip ups are always gonna happen from time to time. Its just a matter of now a binge is 500 calories instead of the 2500 or so it probably used to be.

  5. Ive had my mirena for 5 years and love it. I'm actually going in Wednesday to have a new 1 inserted. I have a very light period every few months. never more than just light spotting. My doc says you should check placement every month.

And as far as if it can be felt during sex my boyfriend says he can feel it in certain positions but I'm not sure if he really can or it's just his imagination trying to boost his ego. Lol

  6. Im sorry to here you are having such a hard go of it. Maybe having the band and hernia repair in one surgery was too much at once. I was pretty miserable for a while myself. The only comfort i can give you is that yes it does get better and yes for me its been 100% worth it. Im only 7 months post op, im already pretty much at my goal weight. Im off of my blood pressure and diabetic medications. I have way more energy than when i was heavy. The beginning month can be very trying but eventually things will get easier. Hoe you feel better soon and keep us posted with your progress. Good luck!!

  7. Hey guys just wanted to update you guys on how the last months been. I am feeling great. No reflux problems at all since the unfill and i've managed not gain back any weight. I really consider myself at goal right now. I'm wearing size medium or even small tops. I'm in a size 6-8 in jeans (mostly 6's!!) my 16 year old daughter and i are now in the same clothes. when i first started this journey i decided i wanted to be a size 10 and consider myself at goal. I honestly didn't think id be able to achieve that. well i've exceeded that. Im starting to adjust more to the image in the mirror. Sometimes I still cant get over the change in me. People refer to me as skinny all the time. my work schedule still sucks but thats just life. i have an apt with my surgeon tomorrow i may do a slight fill maybe just .25cc or .50cc at most. thanks so much for all of your support and concern. All through this journey when no one else understood what i was going through my LBT friends always had my back! thanks so very much

  8. 1.When you put your jeans in the dryer on purpose.

    2. when you are shopping and trying on clothes you have to go back out to the rack for smaller sizes.

6.asking the salesgirls in shops does this come in an 8?

    3. when you have to TRY to get in enough calories.

    4. when you go out for ice cream and wonder if the baby cone is too big.

    5. when you have emergency PB bags stashed everywhere instead of emergency bags of potato chips.< /p>

  9. i like keeping some lean deli meats on hand. a few slices of lean ham wrapped around a piece of cheese make a quick, great tasting band friendly snack. oh and if you get the hillshire farms deli select brand( i think its the right brand) they come in a nice reusable gladware container. perfect for a poor college student. i alsp keep some Fiber choice granola bars on hand. they taste great are filling and help give me my daily chocolate fix. good luck at school!:blushing:

  10. Im not sure if you are quite ready for Peanut Butter toast. But if your doc says its ok give it a try. ( personally would wait a few more weeks). that being said i enjoy a slice of multi grain toast with Peanut Butter for Breakfast at least once a week and have never once had a problem with it. It was a favorite of mine even before being banded. Good luck.

And jackie i completely agree about the powder thing. i love my peanut butter and the idea of changing its form like that just seems wrong to me.:blushing:

  11. thanks for all your concern guys. I went for an upper GI today then to see my doc. I wasnt slipped thank god. but my doc said i was way too tight and swollen and that he was surprised that i'd been able to keep any solid food down at all.He also said it was good that i came in because i was tight enough i was at risk to do some serious damage to my band. So ended up having 1cc of Fluid taken out. He scheduled me to come back in a few weeks. He said he'd see me sooner and take out more if needed or to put back if i started to gain. So all in all i'm pretty happy with my decision to see my doc. I think i did the right thing. i know i've been eating way too many slider foods the last few weeks due to being too tight. So now i wanna take the time to start eating better. if i do things the right way i think i can still cont to lose. And again thanks for all your covcern. Right now i still feel like a bit of an overtired emotional train wreck. But i rhink i'm heading in the right direction.

  12. Im gonna put my 2 cents in as someone who's previously argued with HH. We had a go round about something then it was done with. We were never rude again and were able to get over it. I personally find him informative and his posts highly entertaining. Did he piss me off at 1 point yes he did. But so what were adults people piss us off daily. If someone annoys you then just ignore them. Don't cont to argue with them every chance you get. Were adults on the Internet not kids trying to get our big brother grounded. Just ignore someone you don't like it's not like it's a co worker or family member you have to speak to.

  13. sure, i had 1ccin at surgery. about 6 weeks later i had a 2cc fil in the office. my 2nd fill was 1cc and my last fill was on june 1st that took to a total of 4.5cc in a 10cc band. And i don't foresee having another fill any time soon. I'm actually really considering having a slight unfill to slow things down so i can work on toning. I try to maintain a healthy diet, but i'm more of a strict calorie counter than anything else. i try to stay around 1200 a day or below. And if i want a treat a have it. but i definitely think about what i eat first instead of mindlessly shoving food in my mouth til i'm stuffed. but if i do have a snack. its counted as part of that 1200 and not extra calories. Counting is definitely the key for me.. good luck and keep me posted on how you progress. And 42 pounds is awesome!! those are 42 pounds you will never have to see on your hips or thigh again!!
