  1. Hi ladies. My name is Tera and I was banded in Feb 09. I have only lost 25 lbs. so far. I am having a hard time with enough Protein intake. Also I have learned to eat around the band. I am working on this right now. I have started working out and still am not seeing the difference. It is very very frustrating. Just wanted to chat and see if anyone else is having these problem.

    Thanks for listening.

  2. Does anyone have suggestions for a good Protein supplement? I really don't care too much for the vanilla and chocolate shake type. I prefer fruity.

I am loosing very slowly and I think it has alot to do with my protein intake. Will this help or do I need to up my "hard" protein?

Also how much food does your dr. say that you should be eating at a setting? Mine has told me 1/4 cup of food. Does that sound right?

    Thanks so much in advance.

  3. I was banded in Feb. 09 and have lost 29lbs. to date. I realize that we that need to loose less weight will loose slower, but does anyone else get frustrated when you read how much weight everyone else is loosing in the same amount of time? I try to remind myself that slower is better but it gets frustrating.

    Does anyone else get frustrated?

I still have another 49lbs. to loose and would love to loose it by the time my husband and I renew our wedding vows next April in Hawaii!

  4. I had my 4th fill about 4wks ago. Before I went in for the 4th fill I was feeling decent restriction but both the dr. and I thought I could use just a little more. She added a very small amount of Fluid. Since then I have felt about the same restriction although some times I vomit and have heartburn/reflux also. This isn't an everyday/ every meal occurance. Also during that 4wk period I have lost NOTHING. It is very frustrating. Don't know if I am too "tight" and need a slight unfill or if I should just hold out a few more weeks to see if I reach a comfy spot.

Thanks for your replies in advance.

  5. I'm new to this group. I was banded 2-19-09 and I would love to join the challenge. Not sure I could commit to 20lbs because I seem to be loosing slower than most others but I could commit to 10lbs.

  6. I was wondering the same thing. I was banded in Feb. and had my first fill 2 wks ago. I can still eat things ok but the first few bites usually feel stuck, but once they go down it's usually ok. I can't eat as much as before but I feel like I am still eating too much.

I have my 2nd fill in 1 wk. My surgeon added 3cc during surgery and my 1st fill was 2cc more.

  7. I was wondering the same thing. I was banded on 2-19-09 so I am just 1 wk out. I have lost 4lbs on that week, well actually in the first 4 days and now nothing. I know that my dr. filled my band during surgery. I was wondering what the "typical" weight loss is within the first month of being banded. I go back on 3-23-09 for my 1st fill.

Also does anyone have any ideas for soft/mushy foods besides the normal mashed potatoes and creamy Soups? I am getting very very burned out on those things.

    Thanks

  8. Tera ~

Kudos to you! Hope everything goes well, I am a pre-banding so I don't have much for pointers. You've got more guts then me at this point. It's nice to see so may self payers in one thread- hard to find. I do not have ins. so therefore I am looking into self-pay what did you, Tera and the rest of you use for financing? Please keep us posted on how you do! :blushing:

I was financed thru Care Credit for the entire cost. It took me 1 yr. to be comfortable with the idea of paying totally out of pocket for this. I had a beautiful 56 Chevy that I sold and with the money from my income tax and my beloved car I was able to pay off some exsisting debt. Once I did that I felt 100% better about the financing.< /p>

If you want to chat I'm here.

    Can't wait for tomorrow!:cursing::w00t:
