  1. okay, I called and went in and he took out 5ccs. Is 5 cc a lot for a first fill? I already feel sooooo much better, I drank a huge bottle of Water on my way home!!! Thanks for all the advice and help guys. Though now I'm afraid of getting a fill at all. He said I could come in and have 4cc put back in, in a week. I think I am going to start with like 2cc. What do you think?

  2. I had my first fill yesterday. I had liquids all day and until 3 this afternoon. Everytime I try to eat or drink anything today it comes back up. Even when I drink I feel like it sits right there until I burp/puke it out. I keep spitting up tons of mucus. I have a cold and I don't know if the extra mucus is causing every thing to get stuck. I had no restriction obviously before the fill and didn't loose any weight other then the 10lbs I lost on the liquid diet. So I think I need the restriction. Has anyone else had this problem? Does it take a few days for inflamation to go down?

  3. Oh good god this has been a week!! Sorry I haven't posted I have been freaking miserable. The worst part has been this weird cramping spasm in my esophagus thats just random and very very painful. It trumped the gas pain. My doctor failed to mention that he did a hernia repair and now they think I may have a band position problem or some complication with the hernia repair. I am feeling much better today with no incision pain. But wow this had better get better because so far I am not a fan! I've lost 16lbs in just 2 weeks I go in to see my doctor tomorrow and I had better get some answers about this weird spasm cramping because I am OVER it! Thanks guys for all your help and advice this website is such a good resource with wonderful people!

  4. I am 24 hours post op and I have been in extreme pain all 24. I came into pacu with the shoulder pain already so bad I was crying. I have a high pain tollerence I've had 3 c-sections and only took maybe one lortab for each on the first night. I also have had my gallbladder out and have had the normal shouder pain. This is different!!! I hurt so bad I can't get relief. I also have incision pain and distention bloating. Oh my god I can't believe I did this to myself. I put a call into my doctor but he hasn;t called back. Was anyone else this miserable?

  5. Yes keep a close eye on it. You do not want an infection. The first few days out are scary and tough. If you still do not feel right go to the doctor or ER.

I had surgery a week that it was very cold and I sat up on the recliner the first night. I had the chills every so often that caused my teeth to chatter but I had other complications too. I swelled so much that they had to go back in the next day and unbuckle my band. It all made me wonder if I made the right choice. However, things got better and while I still need to go back and get my band buckled in March I still think I made the right choice.

Hang in their and I hope you feel better. Let us know how it goes.

How did you know you needed to be unbuckled? I am 24 hours post op and I am in so much pain. I feel like I am bloated and swelling I had shoulder pain allready in pacu. I have a high pain tolerence, I have had 3 c-sections and took maybe one pain pill for each one on the first nights. This pain I'm having is almost untolerable.

  6. Hi rathsog! Good luck tomorrow and I'll be thinking of you as well. I don't have to spend the night if I don't have any complications. I've had 3 c-sections and I've heard this is easy compared to those, so we'll probably do great!! I just don't want to be in the hospital for hours and hours. I hope I'm in and out. But you're right about resting before returning to mommy duty. Here's to tomorrow!!!:)

  7. Okay, so now I get that PB's are productive burps. How often do they happen? Is it really loud and obvious? Do you have time to get to a bathroom? What's this slime? Is it only with certain foods? Do you get some warning? Can they be prevented? I would just like some info on PB. I am banded on the 24 and this is the one last thing that is freaking me out. Oh and can anyone out there eat sushi after the band? I'm really going to miss sushi.

  8. I'm not sure what kind of words of encouragement I can offer all of you. I will tell you that I was just banded 7 weeks ago, I have lost about 35 pounds. I have NEVER PBd or slimed. I was SOOOOOO anxious pre-op it. I am a nervous Nelly to begin with, added to the fact that I had never had surgery before, add that to the fact that I'm a RN and know all the weird things that can go wrong. But everything went FINE! Just take it easy, relax! Do your best to keep your fears and all of the what ifs aside. Life is full of what ifs. Spend a little time thinking about what if you don't have surgery and remain morbidly obese. I wish you all the very best! I look forward to hearing how each of you do. If you have any questions ask away!

I'm a RN too. I think that makes me more anxious thinking of all the things that can happen. That's also why I'm doing the band over a bypass, I have seen way to many horror stories with that surgery.
