  1. I take Effexor 75 mg daily and I don't drink any Protein drinks, I eat all my protein...
  2. I was banded June 26th at right around 235. I am just now barely at 220. I am not giving up but I am very, very perplexed. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I have had several fills I use FitDay.com religiously - eat about 1000 calories a day and have been maintaining these calories for 30 days. For the last few weeks I have been Exercising 30 - 60 minutes 4 days a week. Cardio and Circuit Training (my heart rate is up there) I am a vegetarian. I keep gaining and losing the same 3 lbs now for the last month!
  3. Absolutely in agreement, I think because I still COULD eat prior to being filled properly, I DID EAT anything and everything I still could. That slowed my weight loss so I didn't really start seeing results till the last fill.
  4. I had never heard that you SIMPLY CAN'T drink after eating. I thought that you weren't supposed to - well you really aren't supposed to because if I do, I will PB and slime, there is no way I can drink while eating, or I will be in pain!
  5. I'm like you Eficka...I'm usually about 800 - 1000 but on a bad day I'm much more. My 4th fill just kicked in and I haven't been able to eat much the last few days. I'm finally having to learn to eat the "banded way". Small bites, slow and chew chew chew. My weight loss has been very slow since being banded because I never had any restriction.
  6. Spanx are the bombiggity! I have the braless Hallelujah bra, the underwear, the tube tob that sucks in the midriff and the footless tights. Luv them! You can get them much cheaper on eBay by the way. Good Luck!
  7. Good for you for making a decision to stand up for yourself. Kids sometimes don't understand or forgive their parents for decisions they make until they are older and go through it themselves. He will come around eventually and you will probably get an "I'm sorry mom, I do understand now" at some point in your life. Good luck on the adventures and more self realizations you will have in your future. Stay strong!
  8. I am by far the slowest loser on here. You all should be so pleased with yourselves for losing so much so fast. I just had my 3rd fill yesterday and am up to 7 cc's in 10cc band. I'm tight right now but who knows if it will last. I have only lost 15 lbs total since being banded.
  9. Restriction started disappearing a few days ago. Although, I am still a LOT more restricted then I was before the last fill. Gonna go for another fill next week.

  11. Hey girl, don't trip, I did the same thing and I'm fine. I did not feel any restriction at all until my 3rd fill and up to 6 cc's now. However, the tight feeling is fading and I am going for ANOTHER fill next week. I managed to keep off the 15lbs I lost after surgery, going up and down a little bit bust staying around there. It took almost 3 mo's after surgery to start losing weight again. Just realize that even after your 1st, 2nd or 3rd fill you may not get the restriction your looking for. Be patient and realize this WILL work eventually. Your money is not wasted, I was going through the same kind of scary thoughts as you. Best of luck!
  12. Well my 3rd fill was on Thursday and so far I still have A LOT more restriction I'm about 6 cc's in my 10 cc band - I PB'd for the first time but it wasn't that bad. I tried to eat a cracker fast and it DID not go down. Everything came back up though. I'm just now learning the chew, chew, chew rule and eating very SLOW. I can't wait to weigh myself at the end of this week to see what I've lost. I can only eat about 1 - 2 small cups of food at a time now. Protein 1st.
  13. Girl, I'm worse of then you, I'm only down about 15 lbs post surgery. I even exercise a bit too. I just got my 3rd fill and now I'm tight (could be swelling though, we'll see) I would give my right breast (and my left) to have lost as much as you! LOL
  14. Fill yesterday, feel pretty tight today. Breakfast 1 Sausage Vegan 1 cup soup 1 cup sugar free rice pudding 1 cup coffee

  16. Thank you Losin' It! Very good info on that link you provided. I read that the VG band 1st fill should be 3 cc for the 1st- then in smaller increments. I talked him into giving me a 3 cc fill. Drank 3 cups of water no problem. Went down a little slower then last time. Got home and was very hungry. Made some blended black bean soup so it was liquidy. Ate about 1 1/2 cups no problem. We'll see how it goes tomorrow! Thanks for all of yoru suggestions. I really do have to work on the lean protein more since I am a a vegetarian.
  17. Any others? Only 11 people on here have the VG Band?
  18. Hmmm, really sounds like this VG band is a pain in the ass! Much more expensive for us to get to proper fill amount. I left a message this morning pre-warning my doctor that I would pay extra to have a fill under fluro and that I wanted a VERY agressive fill. I will accept the liability of this fill decision if he wants me too.
  19. Thanks to those of you that responded! I soooo appreciate it! I hope others on here get around to it too!
  20. What does ml's = to in the US? What is a fortnight? Thanks!
  21. Hello, Before anyone directs me to another thread link, I already know this has been done before. I have researched old threads and can navigate this site well. I would like the most recent information pertaining to this subject please. :help: I was banded in June in Mexico and had the 10 cc VG band done by Dr. Joya. Great surgery, no complications. My problem now is that the only weight loss I had was in the first 3 weeks after surgery, none since then and I am gaining that weight loss back at an alarming rate. My after care doctor in my town is Dr. Helmuth Billy. He is a great, competent Dr. My only concern is that I don't think he has treated many patients with this larger band and he is very conservative with fills. He wants to make sure there are no slips or errosion by doing agressive fills. Wonderful. Unfortunately, I have had no restriction since the first few weeks of being banded. My research on the board show that those with this band need A LOT more in their fills to reach the sweet spot. I want to take as much data as possible supporting this to my next appointment with him (on Thursday). I need to get a good fill this time. I am in a very deep depression because of my weight issues after spending thousands of dollars on this procedure. I need a jump start to get me going again and give me a shot in the arm. I don't think I'll be able to take a nother small fill and wait another few months to get to a point where I feel any restricion. I hope you help and support me as this is tearing my psyche apart. Thanks to all of you for your help.
  22. I am going through the SAME THING - I have had no success and the last time I was at the Dr. he said I may have a leak too. I go on the 7th for next fill and too see if I really do have a leak. I had lost around 15 pounds and now I've gained back five. I had my surgery on the 26th. One thing I have been researching is that with the VG larger band, sometimes they look like there may be a leak but there's actually little sections in the band and it takes a few fills before everything stays. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is what it is.... Keep in touch please :think
  23. Hi, I haven't posted for a while because I am so saddened and truly depressed over my lack of success with this band. I have the VG 10 cc band and I have had 2 fills and I have absolutely no restriction I can eat 90% of what I ate before. The 15 pounds I lost, I have gained back 5 since the last fill. The doctor tells me it is my fault, I'm not working with the band. I really am trying to eat right, but when you eat too much of a good think, that's not gonna help you lose. I'm a vegetarian so eating enough proteins is essential and I work very hard on that. Of course, I'm not perfect, sometimes I do blow it, but for the most part, I'm pretty good. I even work out a few days a week and drink a ton of water. Nothing. I'm eating between 1100 - 1400 calories a day. Nothing. I'm thinking that I'm just one of those people that has to eat 800 or less to lose. I go for another fill on Thursday. I am going to desperately beg him to please give me a large fill. He does not do fluoro. If this fill doesn't do it again, then I am just going to fly to Mexico to have Dr. Joya give me a good strong fill. Is anyon else a failure like me? I am so jealous (but still happy for y'all) over your successes. I would love to have that feeling again of restriction I had for the 1st 2 weeks after surgery *sigh*
  24. shoooootttt, happy for you, sad for me....i am not losing at all, in fact gaining! 2 fills and nooo restriction...i thought i had restriction and then poof, gone again, think it was just swelling.
