  1. Hi laurend... My first consult was basically him explaining the procedure...showing me the lapband how it works...answering my questions... etc etc. I had my mom with me so that was pretty cool to have a second opionion there to listen to what he was saying and remind me of things when we left the clinic. All and all nothing overwhelming, or scary. becky

  6. I drink a glass of wine in the evenings...i have occassionaly been known to have a beer or two but I usually undo the cap and let it flatten before i really get into it...I enjoy drinking but in moderation...pick yourself back up onto the horse and giddy-up! there is always tomorro. You'll get there girl! Just you wait...setting the good habits will get easier and easier.
  7. hi there I ate like a pig up to the night of my surgery....Hmmm no so good advice but it was like the 'last supper' for me. But commonsense prevails...if your dr says it you better do it. Good luck on your surgery... becky

Mmmm my faith in the world is fast declining...when will it stop! will we start giving 3yr olds 'face jobs' cause they don't look much like their parents? becky

  17. Speck, sorry I didnt mend to offend...wrong term...just was referring to the fact that you thought lapband was the right way to go, and you were excited about it but now you are unsure... and disappointed...thats what I meant by the term dissilussionment...I could have put it more tactfully... :xena_banana: becky
  18. Carlene...you go girl!!! nicely spoken! :xena_banana: becky
  19. Wow! I just found this thread wonderful...it is going to take me along time and start praying for everybody post by post...but I am going to commit myself to do just that...You are more than conquerers... and we have an amazing Heavenly Father to lean on in our times of temptations/challenges/disappointments...It is wonderful to see so many God fearing wonderful people committing themselves to pray for each other...count me in too.. My prayer request is simply that i wouldn't turn to food instead of God when I am looking for comfort...my life is pretty mixed up at the moment...separated one year ago from a cheating husband who claimed to be a born again christian too...needless to say it was a huge betrayal...but I have my two wonderful little ones that are gifts from God and I am learning to take one step at a time in my journey of healing/empowerment/trusting God to take care of all my needs. thanks guys Becky :xena_banana:
  20. I take very small m&m size pills...I can swallow them normally with no problems. :xena_banana: becky
  21. Thats fantastic dawne...In answer to your question...I am still breast feeding!!! so it has lasted the length. hehehe no post surgery complications on my breast feeding thats for sure. which is good because breast feeding is great for weightloss also! :xena_banana: Becky
  22. I have been looking and thinking...but they are all soooo... expensive...i think I will just rely on the lapband...it and I are old friends...if i work at it! :xena_banana: becky
  23. Welcome Geoff...now the fun begins... keep us posted. :xena_banana: becky
  24. Welcome ask_nyc all those concerns you are having are completely normal...I experienced them myself...but i can honestly say despit the surgery, despite the recovery period, despite the change in lifestyle, despite the feelings of hunger and hard work...I made the best decision for a better life...sure there are sacrifices and habits to change but if you want a healthier, active, more fulfilling lifestyle then you wont regret...lapbanders with complications are in the minority rather than the majority there are risks with every operation however I wouldn't turn back time for the world...If this is what you really want...GO FOR IT! you have nothing to loose but everything to gain...or should that be the other way round 'nothing to gain but everything to loose!' hehehe! :xena_banana: becky
  25. donS well done...you are doing fine...keep us updated. :xena_banana: becky
