Why did you have to have a port revision surgery yesterday? What was wrong with it? How are you feeling after your first fill? I hope everything is going great and you are feeling 100% better!!

beth, I am doing pretty good. It has gotten kind of discouraging around here. I lost 10 lbs immediately after my first fill and then have only lost 1 since then. I am ready to go back for my next one! It is ashame your appt isn't on the 24th... that is when I go for my next fill! I am so excited for you beginning this new journey. How are you doing? Have you started following any kind of diet or changed your eating any to prepare yourself? How was your 4th? I hope all is well. It's great to hear from you!

How has your weight loss gone? I am down 36ish lbs... Don't feel bad about your scale going up. Mine went up 3 lbs after surgery when I went to soft food. I lost 10 lbs from my fill (on a Friday) to that Monday... then when I went to soft food on Tuesday I went up three again... so our bodies are funny. I too am ready for the scale to go back in the downward spiral! I hope all is going well and look forward to hearing about your journey!

Coleen- I also had a single incision surgery w/dr cywes. I am not feeling any discomfort which I am thankful for! It is SO nice to have my port in my belly button. I had my first fill on the 19th of June and it was a breeze. The one thing I will tell you is that when Dr. B tells you to drink water after he puts the liquid in your band. Dear lord please SIP!!!! I didn't and OMG! It was awful... When I was walking out I had to stop in the bathroom and throw it up. (It more like just fell out of my mouth) but the whole day it was hard to drink water... You will have to sip the whole first day... then the next day I was perfectly fine. Unfortunately I am not feeling any restriction at all... I go back on the 24th for my second fill.

I'm thankful he didn't take any out b/c I have zero restriction and 7/24 can't come fast enough. he wants me to be down 10 lbs before my next visit... hmmm... that's not going so well. What else is new? Are you eating low carb or just eating smaller portions? I hope that you are doing better since your unfill... I'm sorry he had to take some out. Are you feeling restriction? I hope you are doing fantastic and it is GREAT to hear from you!

Thank you so much for the sweet birthday wishes for my munchkin! How are yoU? My fill went ok... I ended up throwing up or PBing the water I drank... I didn't realize I was supposed to SIP the water and I was thirsty so I chugged it... BIG MISTAKE! I didn't ask (like a dummy) how much he put in. After the water came back up it has been fine since. I still have zero restriction and my weight loss has slowed to a crawl. Piper is SOOO ugly! Her temper tantrums and terrible twos are a bit out of control... she too seems to be enjoying that I play with her more and we walk or bike ride everyday! Wow... your dr took out a lot... when do you go for another fill? Mine was REALLY tight the day I was filled and then the next day I was fine.

Oh mygoodness... it just sat there... I ended up going into the bathroom as I was leaving and when I opened my mouth... it just like... fell out... it wasn't like throwing up. it was just the water... but it was SO uncomfortable. I sipped water all day and then the next day it was fine. I've lost a total of 39.6 lbs. I've lost 10 since my fill on the 19th. Then when I started eating mushies again I gained 3 back... crazy how that happens every time! same thing happened when I went to mushies right after surgery. Don't be disappointed... it will come! You're doing great... just keep doing what you're doing!

Hey sweets! Things are going great! I wouldn't say only 12 lbs... that is a big deal! you're doing fantastic! I hope all goes well with your fill... one thing I wish I'd known when I went for my first fill is when they tell you to drink water... they mean SIP!! I gulped and whew that sure went bad! They just want to make sure some can pass through... no that you get hydrated all of a sudden. LOL! I hope it goes well and look forwarding to hearing what you think of the experience!

Things are going fantastic! I am down 35 or so pounds and feeling wonderful! I had my first fill last friday. I am still not feeling any restriction but am hopeful w/the next fill it will get better. Have you gone for a fill yet?? I hope all is well!

If you don't mind me asking... was it hard to get certified to watch children in your home? What did you have to do? How are things going for your since being banded? Where abouts is Navarre?

I do... also follow the 30 carbs a day. I am trying to be creative and not get bored w/ food choices but it's pretty hard. Do you eat low carb foods like tortilla's for your burgers/taco's?? How do you keep food interesting? Any words of advice. I see you were banded back in January?? You're doing fantastic! My biggest struggle is exercising. I find myself so tired from work and trying to keep up with my 2 year old... that I don't really exercise but feel if I did... I would probably be able to lose more... How many fills have you had? So you've had 2 sets of twins! God bless you! I only have 1 child and boy can she be a handful... LOL I hope you're having a GREAT week and look forwarding to keeping in touch! :)

Well since my fill things have gotten considerably better. I have no trouble with water or even a protein shake. It is a little saddening to know that even after a full shake I am not full. Oh well it's only my first fill and there are plenty more to come. The exciting thing (which i know when I go back to eating I will put some back on) is that I have lost 7 lbs since Friday morning's weigh in at the dr... funny things your body does when you only drink clear liquid for two days... Anyway... it's a work in progress. I am SOOOO excited for you and your weight loss... you are doing magnificent. I always look forwarding to logging on and seeing how you are doing. You are so close to 50 it's amazing!!!! And in only 2 short months! GREAT WORK!! I am glad everything is great and look forward to hearing from you again soon!!
