  1. Thank you so much for your input. My Surgeon advised me to go with a regular prenatal and told me I could cut it up into smaller pieces if necessary. I am actually able to take it whole... I sure do miss the ease of mind when it came to my regular chewable multi though... :)

Good luck to all of you with your pregnancy!!

  2. Hi there... I just found out yesterday that I am 6 weeks pregnant. Not planned and still adjusting to the news...

Does anyone know of a good prenatal vitamin/chewable one? I have been nauseau's for about 10 days and am having trouble keeping anything down. I go to see my OB tomorrow and my surgeon on Friday... but in the meantime I need a plan for a Vitamin. I am still taking my regular chewable Multivitamin... but if ya'll have any suggestions I could use them. Thanks so much!!

    "T" :)

  3. Well as far as the eating before hand goes... I called my doctors office and was told... that is doesn't make a difference, that you can eat before a fill... you just have to be on clear liquid following the fill so your stoma can heal properly... I am going to be safe and make sure not to eat at least 3 hours before though... hope this helps anyone else who might have wanted to know.

As far as the signature goes: you have to get the BB code and put it in that section other wise it won't take. I did it wrong as least 5 times before I finally figured it out.

Thanks for all of your input!

  4. Can anyone tell me if you can eat before a fill. I don't go until 4 pm and I heard that you are not supposed to eat at all before a fill (ex: from the night before) because it could mess up the measurement for how much to fill you and cause it to be confusing to calculate if you are too tight. Is this true? If so... whew 4 pm with no food... liquids with no fill... sounds tough. Any insight would be appreciated!!

P.S. This will be my second fill since surgery.

  5. Oh my goodness... you have to try Jay Robb... they come in pina colada, chocolate, vanilla, and tropical dreamsicle. They are high in Protein, only have 1 carb and only about 110 calories. They taste fantastic, you can make them with Water or milk. My nutrionist is now addicted to them too.... you can buy them at whole foods, the Vitamin shop or online at www.jayrobb.com the other nice part is you can buy single servings to make sure you like them before buying a whole tub of it! Good luck! :bored:

  6. Wow! Well thank you all for the insight. I have been so nervous to experience this. I have been working to stay low carb (below 30g non-vegetable a day) so most of the things it seems like get stuck I try not to have anyway... but I do occassionally have a low carb tortilla wrap for my burger... I hope those don't ever get stuck. I really enjoy them. :) Thank you all again for your help and insight! :frown: Best of luck to all of us on this wonderful journey! :(

  7. Can someone who feel restriction please tell me what it is like. Is it that you get full faster or stay full longer? How do you really know if you reached good restriction or are feeling it? I feel like I can eat the same things I could always eat and just as much of them... I spend A LOT of time worrying about my band slipping or stretching my pouch... how does everyone coupe with these concerns? :smile2:

  8. I actually have Dr. Cywes and I was the first single incision lap band that he did... I personally think he is great. He is very tough and expects a lot out of you but I really respect and appreciate him pushing you to be the best... guess that's the military side of me. He motivates me and pushes me to lose more than his goals for me each visit. His bedside manner is a little rough around the edges if you aren't prepared for it... but he is a really wonderful doctor and is VERY smart!

  9. hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone out there has tried the Jay Robb whey Protein Drinks and what they think. They have 25g of Protein, 0 fat, 0 sugar, 0 carbs, 110 calories. They come in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, pina colada and tropical dreamsicle. Has anyone tried them or heard of them. I purchased some on his website jayrobb.com and they are DELICIOUS!!!!! It just seems like they are too good to be true and wanted to know if anyone else has heard of them/used them. Thanks so much!!!

  10. You are completely normal... but PLEASE take it from someone who set themself back considerably... start now! I had an issue w/insurance and doctors so I had to change doctors after 4 months of working with one I really like. I was so distraught and told myself the insurance wasn't going to approve it at all. I emotionally ate my way into another 15 pounds before meeting with the new surgeon! It wasn't even that serious. I had completed everything I met with him and less than a month later I was having surgery. Less than a month later though I was up with 15 more pounds to lose than I started! Now instead of feeling like I am down 23 lbs... it's really more like 8 becuase of the damage I did between feb and may! Practice now or you will eat your way into having to lose more than you want to now! Just my advice!

  11. I am very interested in this also. I was just banded on the 18th and want to ride so badly... my disadvantage is that I have to tote a 29 lb 2 year old on my bike as well... which I think is why the dr might say... not so much. Please let me know what you hear and I will do the same! :wink2: Good luck!!

  12. The doctor said that the pain you feel in your upper chest and left shoulder would be from a hernia repair and that it takes about 7 to 10 days for it to subside. They said that walking and being well hydrated helps but it is just something that has to pass with time. Sorry that wasn't exciting news!

  13. I had my surgery on the 18th and am feeling great as well. I had two hernia's... leave it to me... I can't do anything simple. I had a SLIP surgery which is a single incision through the belly button or so they say... the one thing I have noticed since yesterday is that it itches SOOOOO bad! I know it is because it is healing but wow... it is out of control and well... obviously I can't scratch it. Anyone else experiencing that??

  14. Hi there. I was banded on the 18th and have the same problem... I used milk of magnesia... you know I have been thinking about it and think that it has to have something to do with lack of food. Because all the milk of mag did for me was give me dirreah for two days. Maybe there are no bm's b/c there is no real food intake. I don't know... Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  15. Thank you so much for your replies... it makes me feel better to hear that this wasn't some crazy technique my doctor decided to explore on my surgery! LOL... he has done over 3k surgeries so I am confident about what he has done. I just had a lot of scar tissue around my belly button that he had to fight and I was concerned that, that had something to do with why there were only 2. Thank you all again! Congrats on your continued success!!!!

  16. Hi ya'll. Well I just had surgery on Monday and I only have to incisions. One between my breasts and the other looking like it takes up my whole belly button. I would assume that is where my port is but there is a lot of gauze and tape there so it is hard to tell... The obviously is the source of my pain... the other one isn't even noticeable. I have heard so many people say they have between 3 & 5 incisions... anyone else only have 2???
