  1. Yesterday I brought a can of progresso black bean Soup. I heated it up and then but it in the blender and blended (pulse) until all the Beans were gone. put a dab of sour cream in it. Oh my was it good. I really wasn't to sure if I would like "bean soup" never had it, always afraid to try,(it if you know what I mean.)

I am suppose to be on full liquids and I am not sure if this would be consided full liquids or puree. But it poured out of the blender. I handle it great. So figured I just put that out there.

  2. Okay, everyone. This is it-I'm off to be banded in just a couple short hours! Good luck to my fellow December 21 bandsters, and I'll check in with everyone when I get home tomorrow evening!

Good Luck Abby! Good Luck to all being banded this week!!!!!

I am 10 days post-op and feel great. Each day gets better.

  3. Went for two week post op visit this past wednesday...lost 26.4 pounds!!! Feeling really good! Still get hungery but I know when I get first fill after holidays that will help! Hope everyone who got banded or getting banded has happy holidays!

    Congrats to you!!

  4. Wow, great to hear from everyone. Only a few more weeks of December bandsters left!! I'm up in Maryland, however my surgery is in NC. I'm stuck in this lovely blizzard up here and am now dealing with the stress of forcing myself to drink my liquids on this diet (I'm so hungry I'm not even hungry anymore) and wondering if I'll make it out and down to Raleigh for my surgery!!!

Anyone else snowed in and living off of Protein enriched hot cocoa?!?

Who's your surgeon? I was banded on the 11 by Doc Enochs in Raleigh.

  5. Thanks that is really helpful! I was banded Monday (12.14.09) and am still pretty sore. I had a hernia which they found and repaired during surgery. My lungs are really sore. It hurts to laugh, cough, sneeze, etc. Anyone else having similar symptoms?

Had all those problems. I found using a pillow on my stomach helped alot. I also felt more secure. Each day you will feel better.

  6. I was banded last Friday and havent had much of an appetite..but still really hurt! Is this normal..anyone?? Im waking up in the night with pain...My doctor is 5 hours away so I dont see him until my first fill next month the 14th...I've only lost 6 lbs..and feel very swollen...I will be glad when this part gets better!

    POPPYred

I'm feeling the same way poppyred. I just took some more hydrocodone. The pain is more around the belly button area. I had a single incision and I'm thinking maybe that is around where the doctor put the port. I can't bend because it feels like a log is in there. Other then that pain and still swollen I feel good. I have more energy. And I'm dropping weight. I go to my doctor next tuesday I will let you know what he says.:)

  7. Last minute advice is... don't sweat the surgery. It's an easy one and it happens quick. A couple of people here had some complications, but they came out of it just fine.

Also, you're not gonna feel great for a day or two after surgery (at least), so expect that and give yourself a break - walk some, for sure, but rest too. You'll be up and running (and eating less - you won't be hungry) in no time!

The last thing, put (flavored) chapstick in your bag. You won't be able to drink anything for the twelve hours before surgery and it will help to at least have your lips moist.

I'm just happy for all of you (including myself)! The first day of the rest of our lives starts now... in December of 2009!

I know, I need to update the list - I'll do that soon. Lots of new names!

    :) Excellent advice Karyn:thumbup:

  8. Teresa (bounser),

So glad you are feeling better! That must have been a scary experience. Here is the crazy thing - we were banded on the same day by the same surgeon :willy_nilly: What time was yours? Mine was scheduled for 8:45 but ended up being around 10:15 if I'm remembering correctly. What if we were right after one another....

Yes sara I was schedule for 7:15 it my fault you went in late I didn't want to come out of it:lol:I'm sorry. How are you feeling?

  9. Well I had my surgery on Friday woke up in icu with about 8 doctors around me I guess I didn't do well with my anestelogist they told me my nodules in my lungs were not turning back to oxygen so they had to keep me overnight. Well I got home yesterday around 4 pm and was in alot of pain. I laid down in my bed and went to sleep. woke up with the heaves. I'm doing alittle better today. I have gas and my belly is sore. I have been walking around and it does help. All in All I'm doing ok and happy to be on the other side.
