  1. Hi, Im currently 33 weeks and have not had any unfills at all. I have an large band with about 8ccs in it and do not plan on having any removed. My doc said there is no need to unless ur having complications and vomiting. My port site hasnt been a problem and have only gained 8 pounds. Ive also have been banded since 2009 so I dont know if that makes a difference.

  2. I didnt try before the band..I was banded in 09...I was down to 250 before thyroid issues and was about 268 when I got pregnant. It took me no time at all. I got off birth control and was pregnant in two weeks. Although being over weight is suppose to cause fertility issues...but I have many friends some 300 plus pounds that have three or four kids and never an issue. I think it really depends on the person

  3. Hi there..banded on march the 4th and down about 20 pounds since then. Got my first fill on thursday of last week and well still no restriction. I got 2ccs and hoped that it would help but no luck. I haven had restriction since about 7 weeks out..so I have been slipping here and there because I am so hungry most of the time. I still eat Protein first and havent eaten any bread or anything like that...just hanging in there. My doc told me to come back in a month to get another fill if this one doesnt work...so I will give it another week....if no change gonna go ahead and schedule the 2nd fill..i hope i get more restriction after the second one because no weight loss in about 4 weeks!

  4. We are military so she got it here at the commissary on post. I figured since it was made with soy four that it would still have the same effect as other Pasta. I do know that there is a tofu pasta that isnt that bad...and it has not flour in it at all..just made from tofu...I dont think I would chance the soy pasta though

  5. Hey guys! I am so glad to hear that everyone is doing well. I was banded on the 4th of March and I still have not gotten my first fill. I have an appointment next week so I am hoping to get my first fill then. I will be so happy because I have no restriction and falling off the wagon every now and then. I havent gained anything matter of fact last week was a bad week for me eating wise and I lost 2 pounds! I cant understand that but I also wont make it a habit to eat like that anymore.....well keep up the good work everyone and I hope to have news of my first fill next week!

  6. Hi everyone,

I was banded on 3/4 and feeling great! I am down about 20 or pounds. I am walking about 2 miles every other day and feeling great! I do seem to have issues with swallowing foods though.....nothing is getting stuck per say nor am i throwing up..but sometimes it feels like things go down very slowly...and im not talking about meat...this happens with applesauce!..but other than that I am fine...energy is good as tolerating foods well. I have been slow to transition to regular foods but i try something new each week. I get my first fill at the end of the month which is a good thing because I find myself eating more to get full. Good job everyone and lets keep it up!

  7. Ok..well a lil update..things did get better and now that I am a week postop I can take in more. I am able to get down 8oz of Protein drink and about a cup to a cup and a half of cream Soup. I do find myself getting hungry at night but I just treat myself to a light yougurt. So thanks everyone. Now I have just got to get use to eating enough but not too much!

  8. I agree with everyone. Everyone's body is different. I too was banded on the 4th and according to my scale about 12 pounds down. I have another week of liquids to do before I can get on mushies. I think at this stage post op our bodys are out of wack..because you can weigh yourself in the morning and it be different in the afternoon when all you have had is liquids. I try not to worry to much as should you. I have also tried to weight myself only twice a week....it helps me not drive myself crazy stepping on it everyday.:scared2:

  9. Hey patrick....it seems u are doing as well as me. I am doing just as well..still trying to figure out how to stop the hunger sometimes but other than that ok. I havent been prescribed any Vitamins by my doc and i think thats strange but oh well maybe he will give me something when i go next week for a follow up. I will also be overly happy to leave this liquid diet in a week! Good job and keep up the good work

  10. Hey all..I was banded on the 4th as well....and I have been doing ok so far. I also had the few rough days of pain and gas along with squirts..lol....but today is the first day that I felt well all day long. I am still trying to figure out the eating thing...full liquids can get boring but I plan on treating myself to some egg drop Soup this weekend if i continue to feel well. Has any tried the refried Beans at this stage? And if so did u thin them down or eat as is?

  11. Thanks so much guys...Im going to GNC tomorrow and check some stuff out. I was just so worried because my doc pushed the Protein soooo much as they all do! I'm just gonna relax and continue eating as much as im comfortable with..I've already lost about 8 pounds have enough energy to function so i guess im doing something right!

  12. Ok...I will have been banded for a week tomorrow surgery was on the 4th. First few days were rough but now that Im on full liquids and the gas has moved on im much better. My concern is the amount of Protein im not getting. The golden number is like 40g or so my doc told me, but my problem is that I can't eat more than 4oz at a time. So, if a whole Protein Shake is 17g in 8oz thats 2 meals for me...thats not enought protein right? I know the cream Soups add very little and the soymilk and yougurt are about 6 grams but I can never seem to fit two items in one meal! Am I worried for nothing or is this normal? I can only have full liquids..matter of fact the nurse said if it has a bump in it u can have it...and the protein Water from special K didnt go over too well with my tummy.....any suggestions guys?

  13. I was also banded on the 4th..but not in the memphis area. I tired a Protein Shake yesterday but that did not go over well. I wasnt hungry and being full of air....I couldnt tell when i was full so it took me all day to get one down. Then to top it all off my gas is stuck in my chest area despite walking or gas x that plus the loose bowels its been hard. My doc says that can start on full liquids today so I'm going to try another yougurt as well as a fat free cream soup..hopefully that will help with the hunger pains...hang in there..I know once we make it to the 1 week mark we should feel much better

  14. Hey there...I too will be banded on the 4th! I'm the first surgery of the day!! Me and the hubby went to sams and stocked up on chicken stock, gatorade, yogurt, and soy milk. I also found a pretty yummy Protein powder from my local organic store thats low in carbs and calories but high in protein...i think its called Spiru-tein...I mixed it with 1% milk and it was pretty good to me. My doc has said that I will be on full liquids for two weeks so I have also gotten a few cans of the cream Soups and plan on using my blender often! I'm nervous but soooo ready. This site has been great to get ideas! Hopefully you have tried a few things out and found what tastes good to u...good luck and I'll be praying for u!
