The Miracle of Toiletpaper
That is the first time I've ever heard that and I laughed so hard. Get this. We bought a king size bedroom suit like 10 years ago and the box springs and mattress have seen better days. Well like everyone, I sleep on a certain side and he does, (he's not overweight). Last night I sit down to take some meds on my nightstand and this weird noise goes boinggggg, my spring had popped and without missing a beat he said, well big ass, you broke the bed after I smacked him real good he took me shopping today and we bought new ones. Men, can't live with em and can't kill em. Sherri

I hope everything is going well with everyone. I don't know about the rest of you but this being the last week before surgery and it's been so hard. I mean everything has gone wrong. I've set down and cried a couple of times. Why, the week before surgery does everything have to go wrong. Sorry, just had to rant a little and try to get it out of my system. Good luck everyone. Gone for Good Club - July 2006
Lord, I guess I missed out on all of this. I don't know but one thing, Amy is a very good friend of mine and I think her feelings are hurt and I hope this can be worked out. She works 100 hours a week at her job and I know she would only have done this to be of help to someone. I sure hope sure comes back I will miss her so. And Pnut, I don't know you but I'm sure your a fine person as well and I hope that no one's feelings are badly hurt. This is a place for support not bringing others down. I hope everyone can get over this. Just my 2 cents worth. I haven't been here long but I know how nervous I am one week before surgery and I know funny has to be too. Take care everyone and have a great day, Sherri

11 more days until surgery
Well, I wanted to get this journal started before surgery mostly so I could record every single thing that happens so maybe it might help someone along the line. Well, since my insurance (Anthem) didnt want to help my husband is paying for this himself. I'm going to Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey Mexico. I feel really good about my surgeon and hospital and staff and am looking very forward to getting on with this. I won't lie, like anyone having any surgery I am a little apprehensive but that's normal. I wonder if something will go wrong but I've got to leave it in God's hands. I am 41 and have 2 children and one new beautiful granddaughter (Briana) and a fabulous, fabulous, wonderful husband of 24 years and I'm not ready to leave them yet. They all mean the WORLD to me. I am going to the preop diet for about a week or so even though it's not required just to help with the liver during surgery. I think I've got all of my affairs in order and everything done and bought. I have made a really good friend who will be banded the same day as I Amy (Funny) and I'm looking forward to meeting her and her husband and us starting this journey together. Wep, that's all for now. Will write more later. Goodbye.

July 2006 Band Crew
Whats up girlfriend. Are you like me and enjoying those Protein shakes. ummm ummm good. Well, according to my ticker we only have 11 more days until surgery. whooo hooooo. I bet your forgetting things and mis-spelling words and typos are because you've been working so many hours and then the low calorie thing. I think you'll be all right when we arrive in Mexico. I still need to buy a couple of things but other than that I guess I am done. I'm trying to get all of our crap in the 2 carryons so our luggage won't get lost, no luck with that so far. Take it easy and I'll holler at you later this evening. Sherri:heh:

Marriage on the Rocks?
Oh Lord, You sound like my husband, I've heard him say a million times, "it doesn't matter where you get your appetite at as long as you eat at home". I just don't think anyone big or small should judge the other. Maybe there is only enough money for one surgery, maybe one is too scared of surgery but no one, no one should ever be judged. I was small 85% of my life and I got looks but boy when I got big the looks sure stopped but my husband still says to this day how good he thinks I look. If it were up to him I wouldn't need anything done. But for my health and for me to feel good again this is the only option. If I were a bean pole again, of course the looks would stroke your ego but it will end there. I don't want my eyes to wander nor his. Course, we've been married for 24 1/2 years. Sherri

QUESTION for moms.. FUNNY
My son's was Goober. We were at Sunday School one time and I guess the thing wasn't sitting just right or something and he was kind of grabbing and his SS teacher said what's wrong Joe-Don and he said Something's not right with Goober and she said, well, when did you all get a puppy" It was priceless. What lifes been like 4 days after being banded!
Good going Stephanie, I'm so proud your handling every thing and it sounds like your weight loss is off to a great start. I'll be having mine in less than 2 weeks and this was very insightful for me as I hadn't really heard that much detail about what to expect. Thank you for taking the time to let us newbies know what to expect. I'll be thinking about you, Sherri

Hi Kentuckians, I live in Paducah, Kentucky. I didn't have too much luck with Anthem BC/BS, too many hoops. I'm self pay July 10th, Monterrey Mexico. I went to the seminar at Baptist Hospital in Nashville but they just hadn't done enough of them for me and Vandy had done even less. Good luck, Sherri

Allow me to introduce myself...
Hi Dr. C. I have my surgery July 10th, and my first appt with you 4 weeks later. I just wanted to Thank you again for taking me and Ive heard sooooo many good things about you and your office it the tops. Looking so forward to meeting you. One last thing, I heard you play the banjo and other instruments. My dad had a fit. He played some years ago with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs when I was young at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tn. He said boy, I wish I could go with you on your first appt and take my banjo. His name is Joe so everyone calls him BanjoJoe. Just thought it was funny. Your new patient, Sherri Smith
