  1. I would agree. They sent me home with loritab but my pcp had already prescribed me 5 bottles of liquid loritab, big bottles but I didn't need them. I would say my pain was maybe a 2 if that.
  2. Boy, Where has everyone been? Busy as usual. Okay, I need everyone's advice. I've only lost 3 pounds in 5 weeks. I have still pb'd 2 times in that time but I think because I was eating fast and it was on chicken breast. I eat a glazed donut tonight (and yes I know I'm not suppose to, lol) I can eat bread, pizza you name it and I'm hungry for the first time since surgery 6 months ago. I scheduled myself a fill for tomorrow and you know it's a five hour drive and I keep thinking, am I doing the right thing. I had a slight unfill 5 weeks ago because I was pbing daily. I don't want to make another mistake but I'm not staying full, I can eat anything and I guess I was just hoping for some guidance. Hope everyone's doing well and losing.
  3. I think what your going through is sooooo normal. I've been married to my husband for 25 years in May and we paid cash for ours out of our savings account and counting fills we've been out about 14000.00 so far and he was all for it. Now, 6 months later we're just not getting along very well. He's even mentioned divorce and I just don't get it. I'm 60 pounds lighter, much healthier and would like to think I look a little better. I agree, I think they get insecure, but mine gets plum nasty at times. I wish you luck because I'm not at all sure how mine is going to turn out, somedays it doesn't look very good at all and he's the only man I've ever dated. I can't imagine what I would do after spending my entire life with someone and then being all alone. I hope things are going better for you and he smell's the coffee.
  4. Go to Mexico and self pay, I did. You only have to be 20 pounds overweight. Good luck.
  5. Go to tickerfactory.com and pick out what you want and when it comes to the page to cut and paste always go to the first one and ONLY copy from the word img to img and then paste it on the usercp page at the bottom and viola, it will work, I promise.
  6. I agree, there are soooo many people that give you their opinion about band surgery that haven't even had it and act like they know exactly what's going on. That irritates me to no end. My pain level was about the same as going to the dentist. I didn't even take my pain meds that Dr. Sanchez gave me. You'll do great.
  7. Not all of us are Bush haters.
  8. I always have less in there than they put in. He told me there is some in the tubing and I wonder if maybe since it's such a little amount if it doesn't evaporate a little. But, I always have less than they put in the time before.
  9. It does work. My mom went on it 3 months ago. I've only lost 60 pounds in almost 6 months with my band and mother has lost 40 pounds in 3 months by going on this for her diabetes. My father is on it as well for diabetes and has lost 40 pounds and our pastor has lost 60 pounds with it. It must really work.
  10. Me it was definintely butt, thighs and face first then stomach. I've just lost 60 pounds with 40 more to go but it shows up quick. You'll be amazed how fast it goes.
  11. I was fine after 3 days too work and do all the other stuff I had too do. I think a week would be plenty but if you can take two that's all the much better. I don't know about time frame as I have BC/BS and they wouldn't pay so I self paid and it was only 3 weeks from the time I started until surgery. They told me I couldn't life my then 10 month old granddaughter for 2 weeks so I would assume you just can't pick her up, but you could do what I did and have someone put her in your lap. Good luck and congrats on your band, you will love it.
  12. I think what your feeling is sooooooooooo the truth. I notice people doing the very same thing since I've gotten smaller. I don't have the answer but I know what your going through is very real but I can send you a big hug and tell you to keep your chin up. Your weight loss may be slow, but mine too has slowed down and just look on the bright side, you won't have as much excess skin. Just hang in there. HUGS
  13. I used cash we had in savings. So far with surgery in Mexico and fills it's been about 14,000.00, and a wonderful investment.
  14. yep, I have the same insurance and I had to self pay in Mexico. Good luck.
  15. I'm sure he will answer you but he did my first fill 3 weeks and 5 days after surgery.
  16. I feel like I'm there too but the bad thing is my weight loss as slowed down to a snail's pace. Before I was soooo tight I couldn't hardly eat anything but at least I was losing, but I was pbing everyday which isn't good for your band so I have my last fill taken out and I can eat anything but not much in the mornings and if I eat too fast with bread it tends to get stuck so I wished now I had of left that fill in. I have to drive 10 hours round trip and stay overnight and pay 150.00 and I might as well have set fire to that 300.00 fill. I guess we learn by our mistakes. It sounds like to me your perfect. Are you still losing at least a pound per week? I have only lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks. I will be forever and a day at this rate.
  17. I have one too but how in the world do you change your homepage on there. Funny has a cute one but I've tried and tried and can't do it, can anyone help me? mine is mysherrijo
  18. Yes, I started mine the same day as surgery.
  19. I second that with another hell no. I've tried every diet know to mankind and couldn't loose but with the band in 4 months I had lost 60 pounds.
  20. OMG, I have been in the hospital for 8 days in the last month with kidney stones. I had never had them before and I've been banded for 5 months. I too, just dont drink much. I had passed three but after the ivp test with the dye they seen one stuck high up had just left the kidney and it was 6 mm. They told me I probably wouldn't be able to pass it but when they told me some of the stuff they may have to do to get it to pass like a stent, I panicked and I read everything I could on how to pass it. I had some of my fill taken out so I could drink more and my pcp said to drink 32 ounces of water in 5 min. and then don't go pee for at least 30 min. and the weight of all of that would push the stone on down. Well, it worked. I passed it 4 days ago and it was brown and had pokey things all around it. It was the big one. I've been on percocet and loritab 10's since being released and I just got back from the doctor and they said it definitely is linked to being banded. Good luck and pm me if you have any questions, I've posted earlier what all I've been through and it's been pure hell.
  21. about 1 month but I was self pay
  22. Having my old clothes literally fall off of me to the floor and not being hungry.
  23. Congrats on getting things ready, You will love your band. I wouldn't part with mine. Hope everything goes fast for you. I had insurance but they wouldn't pay so I had to use savings account, so I'm very proud for you. Good luck.
  24. Welcome Ashley and John, You are such a cute couple and very cute love. You are making a great decision in your life. I'm 42, so lots older than you and I'd tried every diet known to mankind and couldn't loose 5 pounds. I lost 60 pounds the first 5 months after banding. It's slowed down lots this month but I've had severe kidney stones and been in the hospital quite abit. Good luck and you'll love your band. Welcome.
