  1. My husband is buying me one tonight. Do you have any suggestions on what games would be good for some exercise. I'm down from a 24-26 to 14's but I have very bad back from neck and back surgery but would like to do some exercise. Just can't do the rough kickboxing type stuff. Thanks for your input ahead of time.

    Hugs,

    Sherri

  2. I've not logged onto this site in months because I'm about in the same boat. I had surgery 1 1/2 years ago and lost 80 pounds the first few months then the past 6 nothing. I have had 6 fills and so I went and got a very tight one and that does make all of the difference in the world. Now mind you I can't eat much and that usually draws up a lot of negativity from every one but at this point I'm at the to each his own type attitude. I'm finally losing again after 6 months.

Why don't you try another fill and just jump back on the wagon. My band so far as never, ever let me gain one pound back so I'm really betting your not tight enough. I'm no expert but have been through this for almost 2 years.

Don't, don't don't beat yourself up. Be proud that you took this step, be proud you've still lost weight and be proud of yourself. You deserve it whether you think so or not.

PM me anytime if you need someone to talk with.

    Hugs,

    Sherri

  3. He's my doc and he's fabulous. You have the best in the U.S.

He's the only one in Ohio that's even used the new band. He has done more surgeries than anyone in Ohio. He is training surgeons to do the lapband.

He is the kindest, sweetest, most caring, and did I say cute, surgeon I've ever met. He really does know his stuff. He can do my fills and hits it first time every time and mine is the lowprofile miniport and isn't that easy to hit.

Tell him Sherri from Kentucky said hello.

I drive 12 hours round trip to see him by choice. There are surgeons him in Paducah not they can't compete with him.

    You'll do great with him.

  4. I am just now reading this post.

Dr. Curry is my doc and is the best in the entire world.

He now is the only surgeon in Ohio to use the new band and is training surgeons and well is just fabulous.

I drive 12 hours round trip to see him when there are docs within 30 mins here but it's a nobrainer using him. He is the sweetest, kindest, most caring doc I've ever met other than my surgeon in Mexico and my pcp. Anyone who has him should consider themselves lucky to be under his care in mho.

I just love him and his staff and his new office is fabulous.

  5. Okay,

I'd been so close to getting below 200, usually around 215 for 3 months. Couldn't budge. I had started exercising, ( my husband had bought me a one year's membership at a big nice gym0 and I did it for a couple of days and yes, got lazy and quit. I know, I know, what was I thinking. I kept watching the 45.00 per month go through on our credit card and did nothing. I started back last week and would you believe after just 3 days at the gym I've finally gotten to 209 from 215. You guys told me exercise would do it but I was just too lazy but your always right. I think the loritabs I take for my pain they are number 10's keeps me lazy so I've tried to back off of them and cut them in half. I hurt like hell but it's the only way that I can see. Thanks as always for your help.

At 280 I could only walk 1/2 mile. The first day at the gym it took me 19 min.s and today 16 min.s. flat. Now I know its no record and for all of you buffs out there your probably laughing but for someone who couldn't even walk a mile it's a milestone.

    Love you all,

    Sherri

  6. I agree. I had insurance but went to 3 seminars and they were bragging about "I've done over 1000 of these" and that just wasn't enough for me. Dr. Zapata had done over 7000 and trained most US surgeons and has never lost a patient and the seminar I went to in Paducah he had lost 2 patients with the bypass and had only done 250 bands. I wanted someone with lots of experience.

I wouldn't trade my experience in Mexico for anything. Can't wait to go back. Good luck with whatever you decide. You've got to do what's best for you.

  7. Wishing you well and hope things go well for you. My daughter works there on the 4th floor. I love my band and had a wonderful surgeon. He'd done over 7000 at the time and proctored most surgeons here in the states so they are all very well trained.

You will do great. I was scheduled 2 weeks from the day I called so it is quick but I just paid cash so that made things go faster.

  8. Well the lapband surgery is sooo easy. I had little to no pain. Was working in 4 days and riding my motorcycle on day 7. I have 5 scars. 4 tiny ones and the port scar is about 1 1/2 in. They are all so faded that the only one you notice is the port scar. It's been over a year and I've lost 85 pounds of my 140. I love my band. I did it so I would be around for my kids. You will do great.

  9. I would have lots of plastic surgery.

Get my home finished being built.

    Buy a Mercedes.

    Buy my husband a yacht.

    Donate to lots of charities.

Make sure no child in my neighborhood went without Christmas.

    Give lots to the church.

Help all of my family members.

  10. My daughter worked for Dr. Argotte in Paducah and at Lourdes and still works for Lourdes. I didn't have mine there. My fill doc is Dr. Trace Curry in Cinci. Tracy, you ought to check him out. He is world reknown and fabulous. He has two offices in Cinci and has done more than anyone around here. I drive 12 hours round trip to see him instead of the doctors here because number one he's never lost a patient and has a perfect record for fills and slips and stuff. Here's his addy:

  11. It can be but for me just getting stuck running to the toilet and more or less spitting up I guess. Not at all like throwing up with the flu or anything and it doesn't happen very often and after you've done it a few times you learn things to not pb like posture, yoga, and NOT DRINKING while eating.

  12. Hi,

I'm new here and was wondering if someone could tell me what a pb is and is slime the stuff you buy the kids at Walmart and if so am I suppose to eat that for my Vitamins. Oh, so confused. Hope someone can help me. Also, let me make sure I've got this right, I can still drink my case a beer a day if I let it breath first, right? And keep it at 2 cups per vegetable per meal and one cup of meat. Does this mean I'm being a good bandster. Please help.

  13. I agree, I was 280 and 5'8" and got the smaller band with the mini port and am glad I did because although I'm only about 30 pounds from goal and my stomach is small now the port doesn't show through yet. I had 3 friends that all got the bigger band and where small than me but they had bigger stomachs so I guess that's why. It did take them longer for restriction though. I think everyone is just different but I think everyone ought to pay a little extra and get the low profile port in my opinion.
