  1. congratulations! You are doing great! The first 6 weeks sucks, no doubt about it. Once you get to mushies and eventually softer solids, you will be OK. it's all the soups and puddings that drove me crazy! do you drink protein shakes? My doc never recommended them but after coming to this site, I got started on the GNC Anabolic Extreme Whey protein shakes and I have one every day, it's like my coffee! You might want to try that if you aren't already doing something?

I started exercising about 2 months after surgery and wow, what a difference that has made. Now I can't stop and I feel bad when I have to miss it. I started with walking and did that for months until it got cold and now I'm doing other things too...it'll give you a jump start that's for sure!

  2. Hi adennis1! I haven't been on in a while, and I'm so surprised to see your message from 2/10 saying you would be banded on the 12th! Did it happen? Is all OK?

  3. Hi there! I am from St. Louis! I was banded almost a year ago by Dr. Van Wagner at St. Alexius. He is wonderful, he also does a seminar before doing any appointments. he's very soft spoken and kind, very knowledgeable and his staff is absolutely wonderful, especially Sarah. My surgery went off without a hitch and I haven't had any major issues at all, things seem to be really going in the right direction and I'm healthier than I've ever been in the last 15 years. I see you are a mommy too! Your baby is beautiful! Let me know what you thought about your seminar...

  4. Aww, thanks! I hit 99 pounds lost today! I had my procedure done with Dr. Van Wagner at St. Alexius.

  5. I was banded in March of 09, so about ten months ago. I didn't have to pay prior, the only thing I had to pay prior was a "program fee" of $375. Sure, I would call and see what they say--I think Karen is the one that calls the new patients back. she also handles the finances and should be able to tell you anything and everything.
