  1. You know I like the weight loss too, but sometimes I wonder if this is worth it.

I finally added the Protein shakes, sip little by little to get it down, just so I have some nourishment. Also, upped my Vitamins. I hate to to go out and eat also, same thing happens unless it is late at night. I live in Mexico, love the tacos, but can't eat tortillas anymore.

Do you find that crunchy things like chips are fine anytime?:hungry:

What do you think happens if you get the stomach flu, you can't throw back up through the ring can you? I always wondered about that. Anyone know?

Well, I guess we'll stay tight on the bands, eventually the fat around it will come off and it will be more comfortable.:(

  2. I too was overfilled! Lost 15 lbs. in 2 weeks, am adjusting because of the weight loss. I only do Protein Shakes and liquids in the morning and can finally eat later in the day. No bread or tortillas, which is smart anyway. I totally understand those of you that throw up. Let me ask a question: Do you only throw up mucus (really slimy, clear stuff) and no food? That's me, and just wondering about anyone else!

  3. For those of you that have Microsoft's Excel here are 3 great program trackers for weight (ladies or mens), blood pressure. I use these religiously along with my FitDay.coom food and exercise journal.

    Go to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/default.aspx

and the blood pressure tracker, put "blood pressure" in search and there it is...

These are already made, just put your info in and best of all they are free!:clap2:

I just like to help everyone out, this is great for me and hope it is for you

  4. I live in Cancun and had my surgery with Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana. I give the doc and his staff 2 thumbs up!!! I was banded May 16th and now back to my normal life. I go back for my 1st fill in July, and hope it just helps taking off the pounds. I have lived in Mexico for 2 years and I understand alot of people's views about "Mexico". Just research their credentials and like Dr. Ortiz, is a teacher of lap banding, not a student. I also heard that the care in Monterrey is fantastic too. Good luck..

  5. I feel your pain! Literally, I too am newly banded and have huge amounts of gas, burps that hurt, pain in my chest. Oh, let's not forget Constipation. "This too shall pass!" I increased my Water intake (sips), slow down on my eating (soup or jello), walk more, and have patience. We'll get thru this, after reading everyone elses stories, we are in the same boat as they were, thanks for all the ideas and advice. Soon we can say "Been there, done that!"

  6. Hi everyone! I just got banded on Tuesday with Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana. I feel great, lots of gas, little bit uncomfortable but my desire to lose this weight rules over all this.

I live in Cancun, Mexico and I'm retired from the military and my husband and I guide people diving in ocean and in caves. We don't work too hard, but sure have fun.

I kept gaining weight the last 5 years in the military because I was unhappy, so I retired, then my excuse was "taking a break", whew 30 lbs. later...and so goes the story.

I love to visit with people, I get a little lonely here, not speaking very good Spanish, and have just a few friends. Good luck to everyone, and hey "How do I get my ticker on the bottom?"
