  1. I had the back in 2009. Lost over 100 pounds but have gained a LOT back. I need the support to get back on schedule. Any help would be GREAT!! I am in MI if there is anyone to help in this area that would be Awesome.

I had foot surgery in Jan 2012 and that started the "upward" climb. Now with added stress due to my son's deployment to Afghanistan that has just added to the binge eating.

PLEASE HELP get this mom back on TRACK!! :(

  2. Hi Steve,

I went in today and had a fill. My band is a 10 cc band. When I went in I was at 7 cc. The Dr was going to give me a 1/2 cc to get it moving but I only wanted a 1/4 cc at this time. I don't want to get stuck and have issues. I had issues before and they had to remove all and I had to start over. I am hoping this little bit helps and gets me moving in the right direction again. I go back in 8 weeks for a check up. They did find that my port has tipped. I am not certain why that would happen.

  3. Thanks for asking!! things are going very well. I have had my 2nd fill and am now at 3.5 cc's. I can finally feel a little restriction but it is not that bad. I just have a tight feeling in the mornings and not hungry at all when I wake up. very strange because I was always hungry in the mornings before the 2nd fill.

How is everyone else doing? I go for my 3rd fill on the 22nd of Sept.

  4. Ok I have to vent here and I know you will understand.

When I had my surgery I only told a few people (Husband, my kids and my 2 sisters). I did not want anyone else to know. Now I find out that one of my sisters has a BIG mouth and told people. Needles to say it is out now and I am getting negative feed back. So far I have heard, "I know someone that had the same surgery and they ended up with a really bad infection and almost died 3 months post op", "Why would you put yourself through that? It won't work!!", and this is the best "I know two people that had it done and they turned GREY." What the heck is that supposed to mean. I am not turning GREY.

How do I now talk to the "sister" that cannot keep a secret??? I am so :( right now. I didn't want the negative feed back but I am getting it. I need encouragement not criticism!! I guess you really do find out who you can trust and who you can not.

  5. I was banded on May 20th and every thing seams to be going well. I am now down 15 lbs since the surgery. I am on the mushy stage of foods. I am going to a family wedding this weekend. I haven't told any family members of the surgery. How do I get a way with not eating at the reception without anyone taking notice? The wedding is in the afternoon so I will eat something before I go but it will be a long night with tons of food around. Any suggestions?

  6. I was the same way. I had surgery on May 20th. I only told my husband and kids. For the same reasons. I did tell my sisters that I had surgery but not what type. They both got mad at me for not telling them that I had the surgery until it was 3-5 days after. I still haven't told my mom and I am not going to tell. She likes to tell everyone anything she hears and I would rather not have it posted in the local paper.

I hope you are still feeling good. I know it takes time.

  7. Hi Teri,

My Dr required a 6 week class on everything you will go through and need before and after surgery. They recommended a cook book call "Healthy Eating After Weight Loss Surgery". It is great. The book lists things that you can have through each stage of your program. check it out. I have surgery next Wednesday the 20th.

    Good Luck to you!!!

  8. Thank you EVERYONE for your support. I so want to tell the Dr about this problem but I am afraid that they will support their staff instead of the paying person.

I don't think I am being a B**ch about this but come on.... they started out being a really nice group but I am getting second thoughts here.

  9. Anyone been frustrated with their Dr.'s office staff? I have been telling the person that schedules all of the appointments that I need to be done with everything (even surgery) before June 1st due to insurance change that is coming up. My last required class in next week. I have done everything they have made me do and now they are telling me that it will be a few weeks to see the Dr. and then another few weeks for the surgery. Why do they do that when they know that my insurance coverage will be changing soon???!!!!

Now they are telling me that I am taking up too much of their time by following up. This is so frustrating!!!

Anyone have any ideas on what I should do. No my blood pressure is really going to be high at my next appointment.
