its not all about apperance...
my mother suffered a mild stroke at 50 years old yesterday morning due to high blood pressure. she is obese and was warned that a stroke or heart attack may be the result if she didn't lose weight or exercise. not all over-weight people are unhealthy...but it does go to show that there r so many dangerous health risk that come along with being obese. when i 1st started my journey all i cared about was my apperance...until i started to become fit and healthy and realized how good it feels....

fakes and phonies...
My question would be, "why would you post yourself as a success story period? Obviously looking for attention, Are you proud to say you were a fat girl?" If I had the opportunity to go somewhere new and meet new people whether online or not and I was skinny, not one person would ever know I was fat at one time. Me and so many others hate being fat, we all have a story to tell but there is a time and place for it. __________________ no sweetie i responded to ur post the way u wrote it...maybe u made the mistake... and no baby girl i am not a fat girl...was i...i sure was...am i now...far from it!!!!!!!!

fakes and phonies...
i'm pms'ing this morning....lol...but i must get this off my chest...let me start off by saying this...i LOVE to c success with the band...LOVE IT and i hope all those banded and getting banded r successful on their weight loss journey...i also love to look at photos..but aaaaa and i won't mention names and i have looked in2 what i'm about to say its not out of jealousy but i feel like credit is being taken from those of us who have the band and work hard with this tool...there r some "people" posting pix that have NEVER had the lap-band or any other type of weight loss surgery...i don't get what the point of coming on here and posing as some1 that had surgery is...if u want to show off ur nice body...be my guest...but do it on facebook..myspace...etc...etc...this site is for people that worked hard and lost weight with the band.

Marijuana Use After Surgery
i'm so happy u posted this thread...on days i cant eat or dont have an appetite i smoke a bowl....or if i'm real nausated...i smoked everyday when i had to go on liquids for 8 days prior to my surgery....the nausea medicine didn't seem to help...the weed did the job...it also helped me to sleep...i smoked it after my tummy tuck too to kill the nausea and help me eat...i don't get the munchies...it does soothe my stomach when i need to eat a meal...marijuana is an awesome medicine and i cant wait for it to b legalized!!!!!!!! as a matter of fact i'll smoke a bowl 2-night....lol

weight gain :(
i'm positive u didn't gain over the weekend...but if i were u i would definitely get a fill... 3 baby back ribs, 1/2 ear of corn with butter spray, and 1/2 of a biscuit, with again literally one bite of cake....thats a lot of food for some1 with proper restriction to b able to eat...u'll jump right back on the wagon and continue to lose..

Dumping Syndrome is "a good thing"!
i just got back from lunch with my friend that had bypass surgery...i don't know what she ate that triggered her to dump...but i didn't see anything good about it...pretty scary that ur body reacts that way if u eat the wrong thing....

Body Contouring After Weight Loss Surgery
i totally agree...body contouring shold b covered after weight loss...i just had a panniculectomy (totally covered by insurance) and a mini tuck...i would definitely see a plastic surgeon if i were u...the symptons u r having should b looked at as health issues by ur insurance company...my plastic surgeon and dermatologist totally took care of getting my insurance to cover my panni due to reaccuring sores...it was actually a smooth and fast process...i have pix posted if ur interested in seeing the end result...

am i going to keep losing????????
i think u and i r on the same page when it comes to exercise...my body is like a machine now...i don't look at exercise as a chore...i feel like my body is thristy for exercise and it just goes and goes....lol...keep in my mind this coming from some1 who didnt lift a finger prior to surgery....lol
-
am i going to keep losing????????
thats what i wanted to hear luluc...thank u for responding to my thread..i LOVE to exercise...i love it...there is a natural high i get from it and i don't want to decrease it.
-
am i going to keep losing????????
what i'm hoping to hear from someone....lol...is that my body will get use to the exercise and i'll eventually hit a plateau and stop losing...and that i can still exercise as much as i want...really hoping...lol...waiting for that answer...lol....i love the restriction i have right now....but i know i'm not taking in nearly enuff as i'm burning off...which i'm pretty sure is going to continue making me lose...but again i hope to hear my body will get use to the exercise and once i'm healed from my tuck i will start weight training...which may cause the scale to go up bcuz muscle weights more then fat...my son was hugging me last night and he said mom please stop losing weight i can feel all the bones in ur back...thats been heavy on my mind this morning...
-
am i going to keep losing????????
good morning; i'm at my goal weight and I DO NOT WANT ANY OF MY FILL TAKEN OUT...NOT EVEN JUST A LITTLE BIT...LOL... i exercise like a mad woman...and i love the way it makes me feel...i basically eat what i want...and i do not want to up my calories by eating pure junk food and i don't have a sweet tooth..can i maintain my weight without an unfill...still exercising like a mad woman and not eating pure junk??????? i am almost 11 months post-op...
-
One meal at a time...
one of the biggest mistakes people make with the band is treating it like their on a diet and not eating things that taste good....just bcuz it tastes good doesnt mean its unhealthy...i personally would not eat a piece of pizza either...but u can put spaghetti sauce and melt a piece of cheese over ur chicken...i'm not saying to eat all out junk food...but dont make urself misreable either...there is a healthy way of eating ALMOST anything u ate b4 u were banded...when people c my loss...they think i didnt eat at all or i've been living of nothing but celery...not true at all...i cut calories when i can...but not flavor...if i'm craving something i may have to alter it to an extent...but i find something 2 satify it.

Problems with tummy sag?
i also wanted to mention that u do not necessarily need to have rashes and skin disorders in order for ur insurance to cover a panniculectomy...eventually that weight of the excess skin will start giving you back problems and enable u to fully exercise...i looked at ur ticker with the amount of weight u want to lose...im 99.9% sure u will need some type of plastic surgery...i am 30 years old and have lost about 140 pounds...i weight in 2morrow when i get my stitches taken out...i dont want to get u down...but i dont want to sugar coat it either...even when i had my apron of excess skin i was still much happier at 160 pounds than i was at 296. i wouldnt worry about it now... ask ur band surgeon to refer u to a plastic surgeon when ur about 10 pounds from goal and mention to the plastic surgeon that u want to go through insurance...they r usually very helpful...and skin tighten creams do not get rid of pounds of extra skin...thats a myth...lol

Problems with tummy sag?
have u asked ur insurance about covering a panniculectomy???? a panniculectomy and a tummy tuck are 2 different procedures and insurance will usually cover a panni...which is the removal of the excess saggy skin...but there is no pulling of the muscles or tucking...i recently had a panniculectomy and a mini tuck...and so far i'm very happy with the results...exercise may or may not help...due to ur age unfortunately u may not b able to tighten that skin up with exercise...i exercise my butt off and it made no difference when it came to the saggy skin...it had to be surgically removed...do not b discouraged from exercising...bcuz it has done wonders with other other parts of my body and does increase loss and inches...but truth be told for SOME people u can exercise till ur blue in the face...that saggy skin is going to stay saggy...i have pics posted of what my panniculectomy and mini tuck look like..if ur interested...
