  1. i wasnt calling fat people lazy...i wasnt lazy when i was fat....there are plenty of worse things that can happen besides gaining weight....i totally agree with u...but 4 me personally....its a fear...the counsler i saw b4 i had my surgery was 120 pounds...never had an issue with weight...i'm sure there r plenty of people that have this same fear and could give me better advice then to go see a counsler...
  2. thank u for the reassurance...my husband and i got in a huge agruement over my exercise routine...then my mom had to butt in and they both ganged up on me and said "i have a problem"....i have a fear...not a problem and until u've had an issue with weight (my husband never has) they won't understand...i personally compare it to the fear of an x-drug addict doing drugs again...a lot of my friends ask me y i keep going to the gym...i dont need to lose anymore weight...for me the exercise is a must....i have included my exercise routine in my maintenance phase....
  3. i see members on here that post threads/pictures that say 92 pounds gone FOREVER...50 pounds gone FOREVER and so on and so 4th...i can't seem to grasp the FOREVER part...i'm the 1st person on here to tell people that ask me questions to "just relax and take it day by day"....i can't seem to follow my own advice when it comes to maintaining my loss...i CAN'T relax....i'm scared to death to relax...i don't think any loss from any type of weight loss surgery is FOREVER...i've seen people on here and in my own personal life put their weight back on...(mostly bypass patients)...i'm not doing anything different then i did to lose the weight...but i can't get over this fear of it coming back...i find myself working out harder to make sure it doesnt come back...my husband friends and family don't understand what i am going through...and now think i have a "problem"....who doesnt...lol....i can't live in that misery again...i can't do it...but i can't seem to grasp the FOREVER in my head either...its on my mind all day....everyday....i feel like if i have the FOREVER mind-set i'm going to get lazy....if i feel like if i think i'm invisible to ever gain my weight back i'm kidding myself...i'm happy going to the gym...i happy with what and how i eat...i didn't have to chage much about how i eat....i love meat...i just needed the portion control...i have that with my band...but i want to feel like i'm going to be okay...i want some1 to assure me that i'm going to be okay...that if i keep doing what i'm doing it won't come back...i'm totally stressed out about this...
  4. I have really long hair...that took a beating from my weight loss...its now back to a healthy state...but i use to use the length to cover up my back fat...or at least disguise it the best i could...now i don't have back fat....so do i get rid of the "hide the back fat hair"?????? lol
  5. 2 change ur look???????? i find myself wanting to cut my hair....change the color....next week i'm getting eye glasses...my appreance has changed a lot due to my weight loss....but now i have an itch for a complete make-over...is anyone else going through this???? i don't know how to say this in a non-offensive way....but here it goes....i want to get rid of my entire "fat look".
  6. lmao!!!!! Where did u find a picture of fat barbie????? too funny!!!!!!
  7. i had horrible big fat...2 huge rolls...my back is smooth now...in my 9th month it had totally dissappered...the only thing i did was walk and jog my first 10 months post-op...when i went in for my plastic surgery consultation...they pinch and pull on everything...they were surprised my back was so tight and asked me what i did...all i did was walk and jog...
  8. i NEVER set mini-goals for myself...i was afraid i would get frustrated and discouraged....like i used to on conventential diets...when i didnt reach the goals i set...i would just give up...i did had an over-all weight i wanted to get achive...which i did without setting mini goals or weighting myself constantly...i only weighted in at my dr.s appointments and was always pleased and excited...when people ask me my opinion (which i know ur not )...i always tell them goals can be a good thing or a bad thing....i personally think u should take ur journey day by day...relax...follow the rules....exercise and enjoy ur loss!!!!!!!!!
  9. thank u vanity...i learned a very hard sad lesson...no more letting bunnies roam freely...i went and bought a play pen for the bunnies that r coming home with us 2-night
  10. we got the bunny when he was only 2 weeks old...he was use to being out of his cage and handled....i gave him an apple slice and he would sit on the kitchen floor and eat the whole slice...i went to the gym last night and didnt take my nikes off...i told my son to let bunz out and gave him a slice of apple...i was watching him eat it and packing my son's lunch at the same time...he decided not to finish his apple slice last night and hopped right under my foot...i stepped on his neck...broke it and he died...my son and i are devasted...we rescued him...he was very ill and too young to b away from his mother...we nursed him back to health and watched him transform in2 a very happy...active....healthy bunny. we both stayed up crying all night...my son referred to his bunny as his brother....since he is an only child....we r going to adopt 2 bunnies 2night hopefully they will have the same personality as our lil bunz....
  11. i had a really bad night last night...i killed my son's bunny by accident...i just wanted to tell u ur thread title and thread made me laugh....i'm positive the lap band goddess will 4give u...i hope the bunny goddess 4gives me...:crying:
  12. i don't think u r srtuggling...ur not working ur tool...the way u r suppose to be and from ur post i think u know that...u basically answered ur own questions....exercise more and eat right....this tool can give u amazing life-changing results....but u need to become a team with ur band...it won't work by itself...it'll work with u....
  13. thank u all so much......we took our kids to the zoo over the weekend and while she ate candied almonds and kettle corn without having to worry about putting any of her weight back on...i was able to walk up and down hills and all over the zoo without even breaking a sweat....she needed to sit down every 5 minutes to rest....my ability to be so much more physically active was much more sweeter than the popcorn and almonds...
  14. i totally agree with u grandma26...in all honesty i strictly wanted to lose weight in the begining of my journey for social acceptance and appreance reasons...now i am sooooooo happy to be fit...i amaze myself when i'm able to run mile after mile....and work-out with the best of them...now i would tell some1 its not all about apperance but ur health as well!!!!!!!! there is a huge difference between just being thin and thin...fit and healthy...i have all 3 working in my favor.
  15. ur right parrothead cathy...u always have good and fair advice when u respond to threads!!!
  16. only my fellow bandsters will understand......once again my friend had rny in may...she has lost 86 pounds...NO EXERCISE and has not changed her eating habits at all...she has only dumped once since surgery...she is constantly comparing herself and her loss to mine...i'm so sorry to tell her but aaaaaaa NO....my tool has helped me tremendously....don't get me wrong....but I helped myself tremedously too...i don't sit around on my butt while my surgery consumes calories for me...its so irritating...she laughs at how much i go to the gym ....my body is far from perfect...but a lot less sloppy bcuz i do go to the gym...and watch what i eat...tells me constantly that she made the right decision...well good for u...but guess what???? lets see who keeps it off...i don't compare my loss to any1 elses...there r so many factors to the rate of each individuals loss...my friends and family don't understand y it irritates me that she constantly compares herself to me...and u may not either...but for those of u that worked hard to get where ur at...i'm sure u can relate...have a great weekend...keep losing and thank u 4 hearing me out!!!!!!
  17. i was banded on october 6th 2008...i weighted 296 on the morning of my surgery...i wore a size 28...i hit my goal in my 11th month...my current weight is 158.8...current size 6...i had a tummy tuck on august 17th 2009...i'm no different then any1 else on here...i set my mind and body to succeed and didn't settle for anything less!!!!!!!! mission accomplished.... i'm fit, healthy and hhhhhoooooooootttttttt!!!!!! lol
  18. i personally have never tried it...my best friend was on it and had constant and UNCONTROLLABLE (which i witnessed with my own eyes standing in line at ralphs) diaherra...horrible!!!!
  19. i went from a size 28 to a size 6 in less then a year...my son and i recently went to the beach and he wanted me to climb through this very narrow hole in between some rocks...i honestly didnt think i was going to fit...i thought about getting stuck and people saying "look at that fat girl stuck in that hole"...i said to myself "even if u do get stuck no1 is going to say its bcuz ur too fat...u'll just b stuck...lol"...i went through and didn't get stuck...i'm always terrified about putting my weight back on...i'm trying to figure out what mind set i should have to keep the weight off....should i think that i'll never gain it back...or should i keep the fear that it can always come back....either way i know i'll ALWAYS continue to exercise...i would just like my mind to be at ease a lilttle...huuuummmmmm
  20. i struggle eating at night...after i exercise i have no appetite at all...zero interest in food...usually people work up an appetite after a good work-out i'm the complete opposite...i always have something made...a cup of brisket or some egg salad...its crucial that u eat...u will not lose weight if ur body isnt getting enuff fuel.
  21. i am soooooooooo scared and worried to put my weight back on...i'm freaked out about having to change anything about my exercise routine...but my son's education is a billion more times important then spending hours at the gym...u r probably right...i'm meeting with a personal trainer next saturday....there is a part of me that just wants to hear that im not going to put my weight back on....as long as i keep doing what i'm doing...it just seems 2 good 2 b true...
  22. i've been told i'm addicted to the gym too...i don't like the word addicted...i say i'm committed!!!!!!!!! yeah...committed to my body and health...as far as the body bug...i don't know if i believe any of those calorie counters are on target...i think its more of an estimate...
  23. GO ON, GURLLLLLLLL!!!:thumbup: Im pretty impressed! I wish that I had as much enthusiasm as you about working out! I keep making excuses! UGHHHH!!! I usually do 30 mins on treadmill at 3.5 or higher then hip and thigh adductur (sp?) and at least 100 crunches on the machine and then arm curls and chest pulls. ur impressed with me?????? i'm impressed with u!!!!!!!!! all the weight training ur doing is whats going to make ur body look nice and toned when everything is said...done and lost...i haven't even started to weight train yet...all i've done is cardio...my stitches from my tuck come out on 10/19 and my dad paid for a personal trainer...so hopefully i'll get to be like u!!!!!!!! maybe ur not losing bcuz ur building muscle...my sister has an awesome body and people are always surprised at how much she weights...but she is all muscle and in a size 4...(no surgery)...if ur losing inches ..ur probably gaining muscle which well eventually start burning fat...
  24. my work-out routine consist of 30 minutes on the elyptical...55 minutes on the rotating stairs and 20 minutes on the treadmill...my work-out routine has to be shortened during the week...due to my son's homework schedule...i was doing the rotating stairs on level 12 for 55 minutes and burning off 680 calories...i now do the stairs on level 15 for 40 minutes...i burn a little less but am i still getting the same work-out????? is it the time u spend exercising or the intensity???? basically i'm asking since i've kicked the level on the stairs up a notch...will that make up for the 15 minutes?
  25. I noticed you mentioned you burn up to 1300 calories a day. How do you keep track of this? I always get overwhelmed counting how many calories I'm burning. Please explain. I also think that it's easier for a man to lose weight then a woman. Do you think that could be the reason why you lost so much weight? In any case congratulations on your weight loss. I'm not banded yet but hope to be sometime soon. Thanks. i'm NOT a man....i'm a woman....i wear a body bug that i bought at 24 hour fitness and it keeps track of how many calories i burn.
