  1. Who is getting banded on Friday the 13th (March)? Or who was already banded on Friday the 13th (February)?
  2. Well, I had my first appt with the doctors today, and I'm scheduled for surgery for March 9th!!! YAY!!!:crying:

    I'm an outpatient.
  6. How long from your first appt. till you have surgery? I saw for some, it took 6 months...I'm really hoping I wont have to wait that long

    March 9th!!!

I was actually suprised because they (the doctors) almost denied me because of my age. I don't know what made them decide to change their minds, but thankfully they did, and I'll actually be able to get onto a scale and have it go down!!! But one question I do have, is.... What did you bring with you to the hospital? So far, all I'm bringing is chap stick and slippers...I don't know what else I will need. Thanks!!!
  8. The doctors office took care of everything. I was shocked when they told me that I would get a response from the insurance within a week. All I have to do is pay my deductible and go and get blood work in two weeks.
  9. I've GOT to be a part of the Lucky Losers!!! I just got my surgery date of March 9th!!! :crying:

  11. I haven't had my surgery yet, nor do I know the date, but I was just wondering how long everybody had to stay in the hospital for? What the doctors expected you to do while there?

    Hi all, and a ?

I also have my first consultation tomorrow, and I am thrilled to finally get on the road!!! This site has helped quite a bit with some of the questions I had, but then again, it also gave me quite a few questions also...lol. But I'm sure the doctors will be more than willing to answer ANY question we have!! Good luck!

What sold me to getting lap band was that LB is more long term and gastric bypass was all of a sudden, but about 6 or 7 years from now, you will gain some back... If you get Gastric Bypass, you could stretch your stomach out, and end up consuming more and LB just requires fills! Good luck on your decision making!!!

Why are so many people having trouble peeing after surgery? I haven't heard of that one before...
  15. It doesn't look at though that would give the feeling of being full, as the lap band and gastric bypass does. Also, I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed kind of weird how they were stapling the inside of the stomach together.

The only way you can find out if you will be eligible is to make an appt with the doctor. Especially since you already know your insurance covers it... You could also Google it, but that won't be as accurate...
  17. Hi, I noticed that you live in Aurora and I was just wondering where you went to get your band done?

  20. I'm good!!! I'm just super stoked that I'm finally going to be doing this instead of just dreaming about it!!! How are you?

  21. Hi everybody, I was just wondering if anybody had any good questions that I might not know that I could ask the doctor. I have a few questions already, but I have come to an end. Thank you Kayla
  22. Thanks, I honestly didn't think of any of those! Thanks for the help!
  23. Hi, I recently found out that my insurance was going to cover the lap band surgery with me paying a deductible of 250 and am very excited!!! :tongue2: I have an appointment on the 11th of February for blood work and meeting all of the other doctors and stuff! I have been doing research about lap band for about 5 years now, and I can't believe that it's actually happening! I haven't been given my surgery date yet, but I'm sure it won't be until next month :cheated: But a life changing surgery will be worth the wait!!!
