Hi I just thought I'd make myself known. I haven't had any surgery yet, I have my 1st meeting/briefing (or whatever you call it) on Thursday. My husband is in the Air Force so I know I read some where about a new rule or something.
I hope I qualify because nothing else is working for me. I have multiple illnesses due to my weight. I meet the standard BMI qualification. I'm just so sick of being sick. Plus it would be nice to look better and feel better about myself. Heck it be nice to buy clothes in a regular store. I haven't done that since I had my 2nd child. I didn't grow up overweight. I got that way after having kids and going through depression after the loss of my parents. So I know there is a difference in how people treat you when you are average weight as opposed to being over weight. It's disgusting!
Anyway Hi and thanks for being here and having me.

Congrats! I hope I don't have trouble with Tricare but knowing how they work I expect some.

Hi I'm new here too and I also have Tricare. We're out here in Maryland near DC so Walter Reed Army hospital is out here that is where I'll get my surgery. If I get approved. I have my first meeting on Thursday. Good luck to you.

I don't under stand what this means:
"Is 200 percent or more over ideal weight for height and bone structure"
I'm 230lbs. and I'm 5'2". As far as I know my BMI is 40 at least.
Am I also understanding that you have to have already had an unsuccessful weight loss surgery?
"Has had intestinal bypass or other surgery for obesity and because of complications, requires another surgery"
Because if that is the case then I'll have to get something besides lapband surgery. I haven't had any surgeries yet. I don't even know now if I'll qualify. I'm now very confused.
