    Advice needed

He should know you well enough to know that you would not do something as juvenile to make a rude comment on a social networking site. In my opinion, it sounds like he just needs space, and if he is easily swayed by other family members then he isn't ready to be in a relationship with anyone. His mind can only be poisoned if he allows it to happen. I know it hurts Daisy, but truthfully do you want to sit around and wait for him to figure things out. I've always said " I'd rather be alone, and content, then be with someone who makes me miserable." You really have to decide what is best for you and your wants/needs. Don't settle for less than everything you want just to be with someone.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I would just like to throw out there that vaginal ultrasounds are more unpleasant than having a wisdom tooth extracted. . . Backstory: when I was having the drains placed, one of the Fluid pockets is super low in my pelvic region. They sedated me, and when they couldn't get to the pocket with fluoro, they asked me if they could perform a vaginal ultrasound to rule out ovarian cysts or appendix problems. . . I said "yes", but let me just say, after 4 months of ZERO sex, and doing kegal exercises after the foley catheter was pulled, the vaginal ultrasound is the most unpleasant thing in the world ! ! !
  3. I want to be able to fasten a seat belt in an airplane without being uncomfortable. I want to be able to wear something sexy for my husband that doesn't have to be bought at a specialty store. I want to run on the beach after my son in the sand without being utterly fatigued. I really want to look in the mirror and not be ashamed of what I have let myself become.

Anyone want to meet in the chat room?

I could make a day of it. I'm between Pensacola and Panama City. Little town called Navarre, FL. My husband is stationed at Hurlburt Field. . .

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

My husband happens to be really great looking as well, but I've always gotten hit on. John is totally oblivious to when women hit on him, yet he is quick to realize when a man takes notice of me. I think I get hit on because of my personality, and the confidence I exude. I've always been that outgoing, bubbly, and charismatic, "life of the party" type girl. My pant size never really kept me from getting hit on. I guess I'm getting older now, and getting hit on doesn't really do much for my self esteem anymore unless I'm having an "ugly" day. Sometimes, I get giddy, but for the most part, I just giggle and thank them for the compliment.

Daisy, you know I adore you, but before you try to move on with someone else, break things off with Bill. Don't make him a priority when all he is making you is a convenience. His behavior has been progressively getting worse, and he's getting more and more distant from you. You deserve better, and I would get some new pictures to send out. If I lived closer, I'd come over, get you all dolled up and get you some pictures that will reel in the men.

    Some are clueless

The ones that make me shake my head were the ones already trying to figure out how to "eat around their band/sleeve/rny" . . .

    Food network

I was addicted to food Network during my 2.5 week recovery at home alone. I love, love, love Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Iron Chef America, all of them, Throwdown with Bobby Flay. I thought it was insane considering I was going to be on clears for 18 days. My other obsession was (and still is) The Golden Girls. I still weigh everyday, sometimes twice a day. I am a little obsessed with the scale, and don't see that changing any time soon. I was hospitalized last week and gained 30lbs of Water weight from all the fluids. I was livid, but I was so grateful when I went for a follow up today and had lost all the water weight.
  12. I have a friend who had RNY with Tricare Prime Remote, and she had some out of pocket, but she is elated with her choice. She saw a civilian, and before getting banded, I would really consider trying to find out all of the options. Even if that means looking for another surgeon that will do VSG. No one could pay me to have a band again. Grant it, I've had a couple of complications since the revision, but I do not regret the decision to get the dreaded band out of my body. Tricare will cover the VSG if you can find a military installation that will perform the VSG. Here in our area VSG is taking over the band and RNY surgeries because of the success and the approval process has been much easier. Good luck on your journey. . . If you ever want or need to chat feel free to contact me here.
  13. There are several MTF's that perform the VSG. My husband is active duty Air Force, and I had my band to sleeve revision at Eglin AFB. I know there are a couple of MTF's in OK and TX that are performing the VSG. You're best bet would be to call the general surgery clinic for the MTF's that are close to you, and find out what options are available. If you have Prime, you have to stay within 100 miles of your home base. If you have Tricare Standard, you could go see a civilian and pay the out of pocket expense scheduled by Tricare and the surgeon.
  14. Great to hear everything went well ! ! !
  15. Best wishes, and be safe in your travels. I can't wait to hear your updates when you return ! ! !

    Odd question

My throat didn't hurt at all, and i had 2 surgeries back to back. So, I'm not sure what others experience, but I had zero throat pain.

    Breast and shoe size???

My breasts have shrunk some, but nothing major thus far. All of my shoes are too big. I used to wear an 8.5W, and now I can't wear any of my shoes without them "flip flopping" off my heels. It sucks, but I guess it's a fair trade for 35lbs lost.

    tell us about yourself

Hey everyone, my name is Tiffany. I'm 32 years old, married to the greatest husband in the world, John (27), and mother to the most amazing son in the universe, Caysen (11). My husband is active duty Air Force, and we are currently stationed in the NW panhandle of Florida near Pensacola. We've been together for over 3 years, and were married in Feb 2008. I'm a licensed insurance agent, and have been in the insurance industry since 2002. I just recently resigned my position with a small agency due to the extended recovery time I am dealing with, and wanting to spend time with my family. My husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan, and is due home at the end of September. I love to write poetry, fish, go to the beach, and just about do anything with my family. John and I have a date night once a week, and are enjoying our life on the beach. John is going to adopt Caysen, and we will try for another baby next year. I'm excited about what sleeve life has to offer. I'm doing great with the weight loss. I'm seeing changes, and my clothes are definitely too big at this point. It's exciting, but I'm also looking forward to moving to regular food with some consistency.

    Rate your liquids

I go back to see Dr. M on Thursday to see how long I have to do full liquids. I'm hoping 10 days, but I have a feeling it'll be 14. I am having a hard time getting in any full liquids, and tolerating them. I had some cream of potato Soup last night diluted, and blended. I added a small amount of cheese to taste, and least to say, that didn't go over well at all. SF pudding works, and I'm just trying to take it slow. Today, I feel a little nauseated, and exhausted. But, zero pain or fever. It's just weird, I feel like I've been on clears for ages, and I'm comfortable with them, and moving onto to full liquids makes me nervous.

7grams of carbs, 30 calories, 5 grams Protein, 5 grams of Fiber in the Iced Tea flavor. I used them sparingly through the clears because I figured 7 grams of carbs a day wasn't horrible, and it helped me get those long 14 days. I moved up to full liquids today.

    Keep rolling, rolling

I've lost 29lbs, and almost can't believe it. I'm 25% closer to my goal weight, and I actually feel pretty good today. I'm staying hydrated, and trying to keep distracted. I haven't been hungry at all, and that is such a refreshing feeling. I guess after so many years of eating large quantities, not eating, or even being hungry is quite odd. But, I welcome it. I have errands to run tomorrow, and had planned on doing them earlier. Least to say, procrastination has won. I ended up staying up way too late watching TV, and slept in. But, tonight, I'm going to bed earlier and will get up and get things accomplished. Caysen will be home in 4 days. It feels like an eternity since I've seen him when in reality it's only been 3 weeks. It's been the longest 3 weeks, and I'll be so happy to have him home with me. I can't wait for July to get here. 3 months until the husband comes home, we're both so excited, and I'm really excited for him to see me for the first time. Hope everyone else out there doing well. . .

Luckily, the Syntrax Nectar has zero carbs. You get 90 calories per 23 grams of protein. Compared to the others I've tried, I'm happy with the nutritional facts of the Nectars.
  23. Dr. M advised the same rule. No vitamins until on solid food.
  24. Some of you know that my son was coming home this weekend. My younger brother and best friend are also coming out to spend a week here in sunny Florida. Well, tonight, my doorbell rang, and it was them. I was so surprised. They weren't supposed to be here until tomorrow night. I almost cried seeing Caysen. He was like "mommy, you're so much smaller" Anyways, I may be a little absent from here, but I'll check in every now and then. My little boy is home, and I feel so fabulous ! ! !
  25. There was a great debate on another forum about weight loss and hair loss. Some people say it's Protein, some say it's rapid weight loss, some say (like Daisy stated) that's a huge shock to your system. I didn't experience any hair loss with my band surgery. I'm a month out from the sleeve, and haven't noticed any hair loss.
