  1. Its been over 2 months and there are days I get frustrated but then something happens and I am so happy I did this. SO I am going to list some of the small victories.

    1. Wearing hubby's sweatshirts that I couldnt get on last year. And now they are big.

    2. More energy.

    3. Down 43 LBs and 3 sizes.

    4. People noticing the weight loss.

    5. Eating out and spending way less to do it!

    6. Having a good day due to planning meals.

    7. Doing this for myself!!

Every step is a step ahead and even when I backslide it is just a small trip-up in the adventure we call life!!:)

  2. I have fibro dx nov 2006/7? MS also dx April 2000. i recently was banded on 9/9/09 and have lost 12 lbs a total now of 32 and notice am feeling better. Massage feels wonderful. Positive attitude will help get u thru. Good luck to all.

  3. I was also banded on the 9th but havetn been like HUNGRY!! My dr allows "pureed" foods for first 4 weeks. Amazing how Baby food tastes pretty good. I usually can't even eat one portion of it before I am full. I take the swwet potatoes and mix with a little chix or turkey or ham add a bit of protien to it a a sm bit of butter brown sugar and cinn and warm it up.. VERY yummy. As I can tolerate I can start to ticken the pureed, , Today had about 1/4to 1/2 c refried Beans with a bit of cheese. Really good. Eat very slow... drink very slow.. find that I fell full most of the time. Started at 3-5 times a day with purees and will work to stay there. Add juice ,milk or Water or other liquid as needed to thin your food down.. that is my dr orders you have to follow your own. Down a couple more pounds already. Also had my gall bladder removed same time 6 holes and total of 22 staples. One incision has 8. OUCH!! Using my new tool to help me beat the game of obesity. Started this process 1 yr ago at 276 now down to about 248 most of it lost in the last month, down from a 24 to a 20 and even can fit into some 18!! Keep the faith and focus on healing, with God all things are possible!! Good luck on your journey!!

  4. I thought I had done my 6 months.. come to fnd out it is only 5 and I am on Medicare and Medicaid in Iowa. Medicare would approve now but Medicaid requires 6 mo dr supervised diet. NOW they get my notes from family dr who has about 2 lines per visit and says it may not be enough and may have to start all over but I have to see him once more in April to submit notes to insurance. I am SOOOOO frustrated at this point. I had start the surgeions pre diet and lost 9 pounds in 2 weeksd and a total of 16 over the last 5 months but basically gave up this past week out of frustration and stress. I am so ready for this but kow I cant lose the weight without the band as a tool. I also have pre diabetes, fatty liver in the past Mutilple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia. Feeling really down lately and worried that I will have spent all this time in vain. Thanks for letting me vent. This site has been an inspiration to me.

  5. I had my last Dr visit yesterday.. I have done the 6 mo dieting(lol) and everything else they have required. My stuff is being submitted to Medicare and Medicaid as we speak. Should be a 3-8 week wait according to the ins lady at the Dr office. But on a positive note... I have lost a total of 16 lbs .. 9 which was in the past two weeks with the 1st level preop diet they want you to do. now I am playing the waiting game and hoping it won't take to long to hear. I am soooooo ready for this. Good luck to all.

  6. I have my last weigh-in and consult Monday March 16 and then the insurance will be submitted. i am also hoping for a surgery date ASAP as I have a new(first) granddaughter Due May 1 and want to have surgery either a few weeks prior or will hold off til after she comes as I don't want to be sore or not be able to hold her. The waiting is the hard part. I am on a restrictive diet as of this week and doing ok on it. I just keep thinking it wont be long compared to the time that has already past. Good luck to all in their journey.

  7. Hi .. I am not yet banded but am in the process. Have less then 2 months left of dr supervised diet and then in March get my paperwork submitted to ins. Dr tells me does not think there will be a problem. Looking forward to a new start in life. Good luck to all here. Holla back. PAM
