I'm a weirdo because I never really liked food to begin with. I got fat due to Cookies and sweets. If I never had pizza or mac and cheese or Pasta or any food ever again, I wouldn't miss it.

I was fat due to sweets as well. I like gourmet type sweets and pastries. Today, I do not eat those things, but rarely. I decided to only eat them on special occasions. I decided only on my immediate families bd's.

I hosted a baby shower 2 weeks ago and didn't eat the cake I purchased.

If it becomes a problem again I may have to reevaluate eating it.

  2. I had surgery in February too. My weight loss is very slow, even though I should be losing more, I am not. I lost 5 pounds in June and 7.5 in July. Nothing this month, in fact I weigh the same as July 26th. I have to do something to kickstart my weight loss, because I still need to lose 87 pounds and if I only have lost 73, can you imagine how hard it will take to lose the rest? Hoping I will still lose till 18 months. Check out the app get 2 goal. At first I was way ahead of where I should be, now I'm barely hanging on to being ahead. Some people lose faster, but it is hard to not compare.

We will get there frou frou!

Hi- I use the Argon oil now because my hair tends to get pretty dry anyway. You just rub a little bit into your hair, concentrating especially the dryer ends. I do think it helps it look less brittle and a bit more shiney.

I am just starting to lose some hair, so I am hoping it will help keep the 3 strands I may be left with soon looking healthy... 😆

Lol. I feel you on the losing of hair.

I have an oily scalp and need to wash my hair every day. So, now it is becoming very dry and brittle. I am using the ogx Shampoo with Biotin and it makes it feel good, but still there is no shampoo I can use to extend having to wash my hair. Occasionally I will use the dry shampoo and go an extra day, but that makes my hair feel crunchy and dry.

I looked this stuff up and I am going to go get some tomorrow as well as the spray in conditioner. Hopefully, things will get better soon. 🤞🤪

Your surgeon should have told you this is a normal part of the healing process. It will stop over time.

    Some things to try:

I have very thick hair, but I think I have lost about 1/3 of my hair and it seems very dry and frizzy. Will that old help? Do you put on the hair itself or scalp? I have oily scalp. Thanks!

That's great! You can totally hit that goal. My doc doesn't allow lunch meat. I made turkey chili for dinner and like you, did not puree. I kept it down so I'm happy about that. I've only been sick once so I try to be careful and stick to shakes. I'll try more Beans. Also, do you eat throughout the day or just 3 meals? I feel like I'm always hungry but when I eat/drink, I only can have a little bit.

I'm trying to stick to 3 meals a day, but it is hard. I can't eat a lot in one sitting. So, I'm eating 3 Protein items and if I snack it is fruit or vegetables. I'm still trying to figure it all out.

I eat yogurt and 1 T of pumpkin seeds and 1/3 cup granola. I eat this everyday.

Lunch: chicken salad, tuna salad or snack tray of protein

Dinner: steak most of the time, sometimes chicken. Broccoli last night

Snacks might be a few cherries and 1oz cheese

I also, buy vegetable trays and eat cauliflower or broccoli. I also eat a pickle here or there.

My challenges are making better choices. I like Starbucks and I need to stay away. I choose the lower calorie drinks if I do get one.

Thank you. Congrats on your weight loss. Over 70 in 6 months. WOW! That's exciting. I think if I had a better understanding of how to get my Protein in and stay low carb, that might help. What did you eat during the pureed phase?

I ate a lot of Beans, tuna fish, chili, lunch meat eggs and cottage cheese. I chewed my food very very well and only pureed chili once, oops! Not condoning that, I just couldn't get past the purred texture. 🥵

  7. I feel for both of you! The first month is by far the hardest! I'm going on 6 months and has seemed to have flown by. It gets so much better when you can eat more food and not so limited. It takes changing your whole relationship with food. At this point I can get my Protein in by food and can now eat vegetables and fruits. I stay away from bread, Pasta and high carb foods. I'm enjoying life and don't regret the surgery one bit! You will look back and feel the same way, I bet! Good luck!💗💯

  8. I'm here. I hope I can commit, because I've done it 2x and didn't participate. I'm sorry🥺

I'm Barb and I had the vsg on 2-25. I'm coming up on 6bmonths post-op and have lost 73 pounds. My weight loss is moving very slow even though I should be losing more. I track my food and steps so I'm ok with that. I have had a few stalls and it gets worrisome.

I Would like to lose 8 pounds, but 5 would be great. Anything moving downward is a plus!

I weight 265 and my BMI is 42.1

So today guys I finally hit go weight #1.
For over 20 years I convinced myself that I’d be so happy if I could only see 175 again.
Then once I started on this project last year (can’t believe it’s now been over a year since I went in for my first consult) I realized that not only was 175 possible, but that 155 was also possible. I’ll be honest and admit that I was starting to lose hope that I was going to hit first goal weight by 6 months post-surgery (August 6) but I’m sooooooooo freaking excited that I actually hit a goal in the timeline I’d set for it.
This seriously marks just the second time since surgery where I’ve hit a mini-goal in time and it feels great.

Omg. Less than 20 pounds to go til goal weight #2! Can I do it by my 51st birthday? October 16 will be the date to “beat”.
