Yes, I would think in your situation that surgery could only help. Have you checked into a spinal cord stimulator? I've heard great things about them. There is a group called surviving chronic pain in Facebook, you can ask what others have done in your situation. Best of luck!

    should i intervene?

Myself, I would contact the person directly and offer your support. I would only say that I was told that you're not able to est solids and have lost a tremendous amount of weight and could I help you. Maybe he needs a bariatric friend. Good luck!!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

You ladies look fabulous! On another note, my bipap says I've been only having 3-4 apneas an hour. I may need to get it rechecked to see if i still need it. I am however worried because i can eat more and am struggling with my weight bouncing around. I just came from the store and saw a guy fall into and crash into a water and cooler display at the store. He had been chased through the store and a cop had him at gun point and I saw it happen. I was so traumatized and was shaking when I got home. It didn't occur to me but it was my bs that had crashed and was 77. I'm still dealing with some high bs so, had taken a pill this morning. My excitement for the day!
  6. I'm 24 weeks and 5 days post-op. I will be 6 months on the 25th. I've lost 75 pounds and have averaged 3.125 pounds a week so far. I am, however, losing very slow now due to eating more. I had the vsg surgery. Good luck to you!

    SCARED OUT OF MIND!!!

Omg, yes! I was absolutely terrified of the same thing and I've had probably 10 surgeries. I bawled in front of my family, PA, surgeon and the nurses. They were all so helpful and caring. My suggestion is to ask if you can take some kind of anti-anxiety medication before surgery to help keep you relaxed. I should have asked if I could have done that myself. Best wishes on your surgery, it is so worth it!💗
  8. Yes, I drank the same soapy liquid. I was one of the worst things ever I've had to do. They found microscopic bubbles and were worried I had a leak so they did the upper gi and said they didn't see a leak. I hope you feel better soon!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Thank you. I have a very poor self esteem and looked so unhealthy and my eyes were so swollen. They have gone down a lot. I'm planning to have my under eyes and eyelids done in 2 years when my husband can take from his retirement without penalties. it is a hereditary thing, but its #1 on my list to do to make me feel better.

Sorry, not sure how to reply except this way. Down 75 pounds. I'm so embarrassed to post this, but is therapy. I've never been one to post pictures, so this is out of my comfort zone. Was camping in the second picture so no makeup. Never want to go back to being that heavy again. I feel a 100x better!!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

I take opioids too. I have 5 bulging discs and have had back pain my whole adult life. I literally can not bend even a little without holding on to something. It's very debilitating. I thought it would get better with weightloss and I could get off the pain meds but no such luck. In my experience I think they contributed to my weight gain. Right now I'm dealing with struggling to stay on track. I've dabbled a little in forbidden foods, but not excessively. Last night for the first time I ate 4 cookies and it had 280 calories. I don't know what I was thinking. I have 85 pounds to lose and it is such a struggle now that I can eat more. Wishing you the best!

    Approval date, huh?

Yes, this happened to me. The nurse told me they put a dummy date in for the surgery. It doesn't affect your upcoming surgery. Congratulations on being approved!🎉🎉
  17. I have a problem with getting fluids. I'm luck to get 48 ounces in. I feel chronically dehydrated.

    Fatty cysts

I have a few on my side. They flare up from time to time and hurt. I'm still 263, so not sure if they will go away. Haven't noticed them lately. Mine are called lipomas.
  20. I hear you about the clothes. Even though I'm still 263, I enjoy wearing clothes so much more now. Looking forward to hopefully getting to where you are👏🎉🤞 Yay for you!

    Missing food today

Ah I'm sorry. I know this stage is so very hard! I went through the same thing. But, eventually it does pass and you can have a little bit of those things once in awhile. I can eat 1 slice if pizza almost 6 months out now. I would not be able to eat more, but is enough to still feel satisfaction and still continue to lose. Best wishes getting there!

    February 2019 Sleevers?

I have my 6 month check-up in 10 days and will be 6 months post-op the 25th. I have lost 75 pounds and am happy with it. I can fit into a booth easily now and overall feel much better. I still have 85 pounds to lose, but taking it one day at a time and hopefully can get there by 1.5 year post-op. Stay in touch everyone!

    February 2019 Sleevers?

    Amazing job! You look great!!
  24. This was my very concern. I was advised to just take my metformin. I was on that, plus glimperide and 72 units of lantus at night. It is best to discuss this with his endocrinologist. I Am now on an occasional glimperide or 25 units of lantus at night, depending on my bs numbers. Hopefully as I continue to lose I will not need anything anymore. I'm almost 6 months post-op and almost halfway to my Dr's goal. Good luck!
