  1. I literally wore in the same clothes I went in with home. I wore flip flops, yoga pants a bra and shirt. I never wore the bra coming home from the hospital due to the pain. I brought my cpap, and phone, although I was kinda out of it to use it. I brought my purse, for my ID, but my daughter took it home. I did not shower there or even brush my teeth. I was home the next morning. Couldn't shower for 3 days anyways, because they told me to wait till then. You don't need much. Good luck tomorrow!

    clothing

I've lost 66 pounds so far and have had to replace my whole wardrobe. I was in a size 24-26 pants and now a 20 in jeans. I also wore a 4x top and now wear a 3x and they're getting loose. I'm hoping to wait 3-4 months to do so again.

I give up on protein :(

I never drank a protein shake one. I tried many, but couldn't get past the smell. I drank fairlie milk and high protein yogurt starting the second week. I'm 4.5 months out and get enough protein from food. Good luck!

    Pre-op and obsessed?

Yes, my greatest information about the surgery has come from the real life stories here. I'm so grateful that if I have questions there is wealth of knowledge and support here.

    Over 65 group

This is only my experience. I was in much more pain than my two hysterectomy surgeries. Make sure they give you plenty of pain medication and you will do fine! Congratulations!!

    I think I'm dehydrated

Check with your Dr's office. I needed to get fluids 2x and I was able to do it outpatient. There Is a test you can do on the back of your hand. If the skin doesn't retract easily when pulling it, you may be dehydrated. It gets better with time. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

If I cut out the coffee and made it at home I would save money and calories. I'm just not really sure where my calories should be at over 4 months out. I guess I need a trip to my nutritionist. Btw I'm not eating bread or pastries like before. My husband bought a dozen doughnuts from Krispy cream and I didn't even look at them. Lol

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Just checking in. A little past 4 months and I have lost 65 pounds. I've been consuming too many calories to lose at a fast pace. I woke up this morning and the scale said I gained 1.5 pounds. I've been drinking Starbucks daily and is 180 calories. I'm consuming about 1500 calories a day and I feel so defeated right now. I can't bring myself to consume under 1000 calories a day. I feel like it is not enough for me and I'm losing so slow. I use a Fitbit and myfitnesspal faithfully and it says I still burn about 3000 calories per day still. So, I'm not using 1500 a day, yet my losing is so slow. I've been trying to eat pickles and vegetables to fill up on when I feel like snacking. Anyone else? Am I alone? I still have a great deal of restriction. Any ideas?

    My hair!!!!!

I'm sorry I don't know the answers, but wanted to say I'm 4 months post-op and mine is coming out too. I didn't think I would have to worry about it because my hair is fairly thick, but I'm panicking. I never started the bioten, (although I had purchased a bottle before surgery) because I was stupid. Now I went out and bought gummies for hair, skin, and nails. I also bought shampoo and conditioner that has biotin in it. Hopefully the combination will help me from losing even more hair, although I've only been taking it for 2 weeks. Good luck to you and I both🤞🤞
  12. Hi! I'm currently 4 months post-op and had the sleeve 4 months ago. For those that have gerd, heartburn, reflux etc. What are the symptoms? When you have severe symptoms and needed to convert, how do you describe the feeling? Thank you!
  13. Before surgery I had a problem of nausea and discomfort under my breastbone. Occasionally I would have the burning in my throat. If I took my medicine before surgery it was controlled. The symptoms I have now are different and I will do my best to describe it, as i find it difficult to describe. So, all the sudden I will get an achy nauseous feeling. Its lower down and I doesn't last a long time, but comes and goes. It makes me feel like moaning but disappears fairly quickly. I talked to the PA about it and she said it sounds like a stomach spasm. It now is becoming less frequent but still makes me feel sick at times. I'm just wondering what this can be? I don't think it's emergent.

    I'm so scared!

I'm going to be honest and tell you I felt the exact same way. I regretted my surgery so bad the first week. After one month when I felt better and was put of pain and I could eat, I never looked back. The first month is just awful! I promise you will change your mind and come to be thrilled with your decision. Try and give it time. Best wishes to you!

    🏆2 yr Anniversary on BP🏆

10 years. I wanted surgery long ago, but my insurance wouldn't cover it. Not until I became disabled and got Medicare would I have surgery. I'm now just over 4 months out and 65 pounds down. Wish I could have had surgery sooner, but better late than never!
  16. I paid my daughter to cook my husband's dinner and prepare his lunch for work. She also did laundry for me. she was such a lifesaver. I did pay her, but if someone came in and did it, it would have cost way more. She did it for about 5 weeks, as I had a tough time recovering. Wishing you the best with all you have been through. I think you are making the right choice switching Dr's.
  17. Do you have diabetes? That can make you thirsty. After surgery they told me not to take any insulin or medication, my bs was just too high still and I had to start taking my one pill and insulin at night, although much less. Now I just take 20 units at night. Anyway, I would check with your surgeons office. Good luck!

    Super frustrated

I did mine online. I think it was called bariatric evaluations. I had to pay out of pocket and it was $150 dollars. Was super easy, they do it over the phone. Good luck!

    Water!

You just have to get it down for now. It was very hard for me to get water down the first 6 weeks. I was borderline dehydrated the whole time and even got fluids 2x. Water tasted sweet to me and I really dont care for any sweet beverages. I was a water lover before and was frightened it would taste weird forever. Today it tastes normal again and I'm hydrated and feeling so much better. Just do the best you can and you will get there too! Best of luck!
