    Can Anybody Relate?

I went for my first fill today, and the surgeon put in 4 cc's. I still don't feel any different, but some people say it takes a few days....I lost at first, then plateaud for the last 3 weeks - I had actually gained 1 lb when I went yesterday for my fill...the surgeon wasn't worried because I don't have much restriction yet....give yourself a break!!!!!
  2. Sorry guys, this one's for the girls!!!! Has your period stopped since surgery? My surgery was April 16th, so that was 5 weeks ago, and flo should be here by now? Anyone else experiencing this?
  3. Today it's 68 in Jacksonville- you came during the heat wave!!!!!!

    symptoms of gall bladder issues

Good luck Jodi -----my galbladder attacks felt like I have heard a heart attack described - pain in the middle of my breast area that radiated all the way around my back. It was worse than labor - I had 2 children naturally (yeah Navy Hospital) I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone - I didn't have stones though, I had a thick grey fluid in mine that wouldn't let anything pass through the bile duct! Good luck - it's an easy surgery to get over!!!!!
  5. I TOOK ALL THE DRUGS THEY GAVE ME.....it hurt like the dickens...but I'm no hero...I asked for it, and they gave it. I only had to take it for about 5 days though!

    The "incisionless discussion"

Between laproscoptic gallbladder and lap-band I have 10 incisions on my belly....I've convinced my hubby that a tummy tuck is the way to go when I'm done losing weight!
  7. EAS protein whey chocolate flavored is my fav....at Sams for 27.00 for a huge bag! I use 1 1/2 scoops powder, 1 cup ice, 1 cup milk and that's 40 grams protein for breakfast!!!!! Good enough for me!

    Plateau woe

I was banded one month after you, and my 3rd and 4th week after surgery, I hit a plateau and did not lose 1 lb. I was getting really discouraged...but I wasn't exercising. I stared walking on the treadmill and around our neighborhood 2 to 2.5 miles in just over 30minutes, and the scale started moving again! I've dropped 3 lbs in 5 days.....so I guess the moral to my story is, exercise worked for me!!!!!

    HI, I'm new!

you need to lose in order for the dietician to refer you for surgery...you're supposed to be showing you CAN change your way of eating - Aetna required me to lose I think 5% of my weight as well as all the other testing I did. You've had all your life to eat what you want, you need to wrap your head around what you're getting ready to do...not to sound preachy, but you DONT want to get denied....it's hard to get them to change their mind. Good luck
  11. My doctors scale is 7 lbs off of my scale at home too...it says I'm heavier, not lighter....that sucks, because I'm excited about what I've lost at home, then remember I have to add 7 lbs!
  12. I am religious about watching Biggest Loser - I look at those people and think....if they can do it, so can I! The lady who won was 48 - I know they lost it a LOT faster than we will, but did you see the flab on their arms and stuff from losing it so fast? Hopefully we won't have that because our bodies will have time to adjust to our weight loss. They looked GREAT and I will too in another year or so!!!!!! Keep your chin up!!!!

    Need Sports Bra

I just got some from Target that are good...I can't remember the brand name, but I am also 42DD and they fit me!!!
  14. CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING YOUR GOAL!!! What an accomplishment...some days I have to come on here just to read that other people are really losing weight, because I'm in a 2 week slump no matter how much I work out, I haven't lost...I know it will happen...I just don't have much patience
  15. I didn't have left or right pain, I felt like a steel band was being tightened above my chest area...like a heart attack probably feels. It was unbelievable pain. You also do not have to have stones...my gallbladder was filled with a thick greyish fluid and wouldn't let anything pass. I had both of my children natural and the gallbladder was worse!!!!!! Good luck!

How long did it take for you to be able to lay on your stomach?

I am 3 weeks post op and can just now lay down on my side - it pulled on my port too bad before now.....this morning was the first time I laid on my stomach without it killing me....everyone's different though!!!
  17. I'm 3 weeks post-op yesterday, and I feel the same way...I was sitting thinking - why did I go through all that pain just to be right back where I was. I do eat less because I get that "full" feeling, but some days the motivation is gone because I lost 25 pounds before and the first week after....now, NOTHING for 8 days!!!!!
  18. I CANNOT WAIT til this is me posting that I am almost to onederland!!!!! I havent been under 200 in 19 years....that's a lot to wrap your mind around. Good job with all the hard work you have done to get to this point. IT's so nice to know people are actually cheering for you on this site!!!!
  19. I'm 3 weeks post-op and went to the beach yesterday with a group of girlfriends...we were there all day, and brought our own lunches in a cooler - mine was ham and cream cheese roll-ups (I ate 3 thin slices of ham with the cream cheese spread thinly on it) and then we went to Joe's crab shack for dinner on the beach - I ate 2 of the 5 chicken strips on my plate, then passed the rest of my plate around and let everyone else eat them....I didn't feel any awkwardness, in fact, everyone else was so proud of how I'm doing and it made me feel good inside. We all got up and danced and had a great time laughing and talking.....I did kind of miss having a Long Island Iced Tea with everybody though. You will get used to these situations...DO NOT avoid friends - they can be your best support system. Let them know when you are struggling, and maybe they will make wiser food choices when they are around you! Good luck - we are all going through the same thing!
  20. Before surgery a friend told me about the Publix Make-Ahead meals that are all there and you just have to pop in the oven.....I did a weeks worth of those, and didn't have any problems smelling food cooked. Between themeals and my sunday school class, we were fine - now I cook regularly and just eat a TINY bit compared to before!

    please help me

It IS bandster hell, but I still say I'm eating less than HALF of what I used to before surgery....just wish the weight would come off a little faster...but, then again, it did take 20 years to put it on!!!!!
  22. Thanks Coloradobanding for doing this...it's exciting to see everyone's numbers go down and to see goals met!!!!! Sometimes we want quick results, but when you see these results you realize slow and steady wins the race!!! Good luck everyone!

    singing after surgery

I've stayed out of the choir for the first 3 weeks following surgery - I will go back next week....my throat was really sore the first 2 weeks, but now it's back to normal. A friend of mine is a music minister at a large church, and losing 130 pounds has definitely changed his voice. It doesn't sound as full as it used to, and he explained to me that everyone who loses large amounts of weight experiences changes in their voice....hope yours is for the better!!!!!

I am so upset with myself!!!

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND KEEP TRYING!!!! It took me from Nov 21st last year to April of this year to get everything done and turned in and approved....it's worth it though now that I'm post-op and on the other side....all you can do is try!!!
