    New Orleanians & Neighbors?

Thanks, that looks great. As the date gets closer, I'll contact the office to see if they do fills for external programs and how much fills are. I just want to make sure I have options down there, in case I need a little fill, or unfill especially. And support group meetings too - woohoo!! Thanks again

    Exercise Today

omg i  love  that machine. I did 1 hour on the elliptical (4+ miles), and I'm still hungry for more! Not pushing it though. My brother is going to come over later and show me some arm exercises to do - I have some 2 & 3 lb. weights I'm going to try out. By the way, do you know you are not supposed to use weights at the same time that you are doing your cardio (i.e. walking w/ hand weights)? They say that the risk of injury outweighs the benefit - better to do them separately. So anyway, there's my daily exercise & trivia!

    Exercise Today

Hello All! I was banded 5/2/06. I have been outside walking every day since I started the pre-op diet. I have worked up to doing 3-4 miles most days (on days I don't, I go at least 1 mile - those are my easy days). And today is finally the big day that... I am going back to the gym!!! I'm headed to the Y to jump on the elliptical and let it kick my ass. I'm excited. Wish me luck!!!

    Jokes Thread

A farmer lived on a quiet rural highway. But, as time went by, the traffic slowly built up at an alarming rate. The traffic was so heavy and so fast that his chickens were being run over at a rate of three to six a day. So one day he called the sheriff's office and said, You've got to do something about all of these people driving so fast and killing all of my chickens." "What do you want me to do?" asked the sheriff. "I don't care, just do something about those drivers." So the next day he had the county go out and put up a sign that said: SLOW: SCHOOL CROSSING. Three days later the farmer called the sheriff and said, "You've got to do something about these drivers. The 'school crossing' sign seems to make them go faster." So, again, the sheriff sends out the county and they put up a new sign: SLOW: CHILDREN AT PLAY. And that really sped them up. So the farmer called and called and called everyday for three weeks. Finally, he asked the sheriff, "Your signs are doing no good. Is it all right for me to put up my own sign?" The sheriff told him, "Sure thing, put up your own sign." He was going to let the farmer do just about anything in order to have him stop calling. Well, the sheriff got no more calls from the farmer. Three weeks after the farmers last call, the sheriff decided to call him. "How's the problem with those drivers. Did you put up your sign?" "Oh, I sure did. And not one chicken has been killed since then. I've got to go. I'm very busy." And he hung up the phone. The sheriff thought to himself, "I'd better go to that farmer's house and look at that sign... There might be something there that WE could use to slow down drivers..." So the sheriff drove out to the farmer's house, and he saw the sign. It was a whole sheet of plywood. And written in large yellow letters were the words: SLOW: NUDIST COLONY.
  6. Hi, I'm two weeks post-op and have been having pain between my shoulder blades and in my stomach. I'm worried about my gallbadder. Would this be considered a "complication" of surgery? If I need treatment, will my insurance pay for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    SELF PAY - Gallbladder problems??

thanks again for your help guys. the pain seemed to go away, so it must have been gas. its just hard when you're in pain for like 24 hours and of course the internet fills your head up with worries. i was telling a friend, it's like all of a sudden, your body is a stranger and you don't know what its signals mean. it'll get better though, i'm sure. thank you all again, seriously. this board kicks butt.

Dear God, Plz hlp my Reeces addiction

Why don't you buy some all-natural Peanut Butter (I use smuckers. for 1 tbsp, there is 105 cal, 8g fat, 3g carb, 4g protein) and some viactiv chews (1 piece has 20 cal, .5g fat, 4g carb, and 0g protein). I would mix together about 1 teaspoon PB & 1 viactiv chew. The nutrition info would be 55 cal, 3.15g fat, 5g carb, and about 1.3g Protein. And then, I would just lick the mixture from a spoon. Don't let yourself bite or take any pieces in your mouth. Make it last as long as possible. Make sure you count it into your daily food journaling. Limit it as much as possible (i.e. don't have it every day - make it your occasional treat).

Thank you all for your responses. I called my nurse and she said to just wait and see if it lasts. If it continues, I'll definitely be calling back. catherine
