    After my gastric bypass, 3days later my intestine erupted, that led to surgery#2. 2 days after that, my heart rate was too fast and I develope a temp of 103. Which led to surgery#3. I was left with 2 drainage tubes and crippling pain!!!! Now I am weak, pain and just frustration... I want to just feel better... this has been a terrible experience.

    Are you doing better now??? Please update, hope you are well...

    This new site is doing my head in , I hope someone can see this I have tried and tried but it seems am not getting through . Has anyone heard from my friend vicky s and how she's doing ?     Yay! So, I had my first set of blood work done, post surgery (3mo). My cholesterol is NORMAL!!!!! It's always been high. My fatty liver ....is GONE!!! Liver is normal! Sugar is perfect! Labs looked awesome! :D

    I feel so great just knowing that.

    However, vit D is low and Iron is low but I just gotta up my Vitamins. I can manage that. :D

    Oh no......I am so very sorry...I would have been crushed too...I have to believe there is a higher power here and you weren't suppose to have the surgery now...hang in there, i am sure it will happen for you soon and this will be a distant memory..*HUGS*

    Ok I'm pre-op.... Was traveling two hours to a surgeon and then found out about the non-covered fee.... Began exploring my options and I found a surgeon closer to me only 45 minute drive and he only does the Duodenal Switch and the Sleeve....nurse told me on the phone that he will discuss why he does not do the RNY at the seminar.....I'm just curious now because I notice that surgeons are pretty biased about which surgeries they do and why? I also notIced the new surgeon repairs RNYs to DS...anyhow, I'm now considering the Sleeve because it seems like there are less complications..... I hate to say it but, on these message boards I hear a lot of people having problems with the RNY and not so much on the Sleeve forums...... I'm so confused.... Someone mentioned a WLS decision workbook and I ordered one from Amazon. Did anybody go from sleeve to RNY? If so why? Thanks!

    I am sleeve to bypass, had the sleeve for 3 years, and gained wt.. I also had horribe reflux,, please de all the research you can before going forward.. I actually had the band first..now, 5 yrs later, wish I had done this the first time around,,would be interested to know why he is against RNY....good luck!

    Most doctors want you to consume 60-100g of Protein daily. Since our pouch only holds so much at the beginning, Protein Shakes are suggested by most doctors. I eat three meals and 2 shakes a day. I will send you some links of the programs of some places it explains it all. Are you in a program or just deciding to have the surgery?

    I would love the links if you could pm them to me, I would appreciate it...tysvm...

    HELP!! Had all my pre-op testing done today & meet with the surgeon in two wks. My Insurance has no requirements so they said I will most like have my surgery in November. I need help to decide which one I want to go with.

    RNY!! I had the band and the sleeve, then ended up with RNY, the only regret I have is that i wasted time and had two surgeries before the RNY, just wish i would have done it right the first time!
