Down 8 lbs in 7 days, i agree with LLL, the sleeve so far is everything the band was not, today is one week and finally not hungry at all, i woke up starving in the recovery room, so it must be the grehlin is leaving, so long, wont miss ya! LOL....... BG i know you have always been a big advocate of the sleeve, even before the Hoff was doing it, check it out. Miss everyone, how are you doing val? SO, TODAY IS DAY 4 AND ALTHOUGH I FEEL TOO TIRED TO TYPE, I FEEL THE NEED TO HERE SOMEONE TELL ME ITS GONNA BE OK. MONDAY WAS SURG. CAME HOME TUES. FELT OK TILL YESTERDAY AND NOW IM SO WEAK I CAN BARELY THINK.. OH, AND DEPRESSED, DID I MENTION DEPRESSED, I WAS SITTING ON THE BED LAST NIGHT AND STARTED CRYING WITHOUT WARNING, I FELT GUILTY FOR TAKING A PERFECTLY GOOD ORGAN THAT GOD GAVE ME AND ALTERED IT BECAUSE I CANNOT CONTROL MYSELF. I AM GETTING APPROX. 11 OZ OF EAS MYOPLEX 42 GR PROTIEN, AND IN BETWEEN SIPPING ON POWER ADE AND VITAMIN WATER WITHOUT SUGAR. THE DOC SAID V8 JUICE BUT IM AFRAID OF THE ACID. DID I MENTION I AM HAVING PANIC ATTACKS BECAUSE I AM AFRAID OF A LEAK? OMG, I FEEL SO MESSED UP RIGHT NOW, MY HEART IS IRREGULAR, USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN IM SICK, SO NOT TOO SURPRISED, BUT JUST ANOTHER THING TO ADD TO MY LIST OF WORRIES...I HAD A DREAM LAST NIGHT THAT I TOOK SOME COOKIES FROM A BAKERY, TRUE , BUT SAD...HOW MUCH LONGER BEFORE I FEEL BETTER?.....SORRY, I JUST FEEL SO AWFUL...

OMG Janine thats terrible/funny too...your poor daughter, so a major bitch fest huh? how old is she. I cant believe your going back to work already do you work with the kids, how old? I am getting my drain out wed, and i cant wait to see what hes going to let me have, i will take dog food at this point LOL...really, i was looking at the butter today and thinking hmmm. i wonder how that would go down, is that desparate or what...

HAHAHA!!! Janine, you are hysterical, but i get everything you are saying. i just want to eat, even if its a refried bean cake LOL.... are you going back to work or something. you said you can only get in after four. do you have a drain, its a pain in the a**..but i get it.

Hi guys, I'm home went to surgery late approx 2:30 was in my room by 7 pm and discharged this morn at 11;00, Feeing ok and believe it or not im hungry and was in recovery, that scares me, i have a drain and am on liquids but can have v 8 choc prot. shakes, jello creamed soups etc, the pain so far is no worse than the band at this point...so i got the scale and im up 8 lbs after the doctor told me my stomach was monstrous so shouldn't that have weighed at least 8 lbs....dont listen to me, im on drugs .LOL

Well Texas, how are you doing, cause me and janine on the other post op posts are dizzy and weak and feeling pretty awful, are you able to have creamed Soups or v8 juice? do you have a drain? thanks, and i wish u the best too...

Oh janine, i feel so bad for you, the only one i could tolerate are the EAS Myoplex already mixed at sam' s club, not cheap but at least i liked it up until thats all i drink now and im afraid i might get permanently turned off. Now today, my blood preasure is low and i got up this a.m and was sooo dizzy. i tried walking around the house a litlle bit. i know i am not getting even close to 64 oz of anything. are you? Its funny, cause when i wake up i am not hungry at all, but once i start drinking, it seems to spur my hunger....? when do u see your doc, and do u know when u start on puree? i think im scared to stretch my stomach a get a leak...i think im turning into a hypochondriac LOL.......

Your gonna love the cruise, i went for 3 days in 2001 and always said if i did it again it would be for at least 7 days. i hate to fly but i love the cruise and had no sea sickness issues at all. your docked during the day and sail at night so its not bad.. as for your concerns. maybe you should call the office and see if they totally unfilled you, voice your concerns and see about going in to get a total unfill or just talk to the doc and see if he can reasure you. the cruise is all about food, never ending food 24/7 so make wise choices if you can and their are doctors on the ship if you need them...Where do u live? i dont know if your here or in canada?

wouldn't that be nice, we could compare what we were eating LOL..... yes, i have read and read the site for weeks, and people even in there 60's and 70's having the surg. and say they wish they could have had it years ago, because they feel better now than they did when they were young! there is people on there that only had their bands for a short time, less than a year and switch and the one thing i keep hearing over and over is the sleeve is everything the band was not...i can't tell you what to do and since i've only had mine for 6 days, i can't say, so i am banking on everything i am hearing too and yes alot of them are a few years out and maintaining their weight without even trying and most achieved their goal in less than a year...i hope the same holds for me.....let us know what u decide, vicki PS when r they talking bout doing the sleeve and when is your cruise?

Awwwww janine, thanks for touching base with me. i will see the doc on wed and hopefull be upgraded to puree....never thought i would love to have puree food..lol....my birthday is the 22 and my daughter and family are coming in for our yearly birthday party at a very upscale restauant LOL>>>> but i said what the heck the bill will be cheaper cause ill order Soup or mashed potatoes or whatever im able to tolerate then...i hope your birthday is wonderful and your able to eat refried bean cake or something hahaha....hope u feel better soon too, keep in touch..vicki

The restriction your feeling is most likely swelling at the band site, that is what happened to me, they took out the saline and it kept swelling until i couldn't swallow, now dont despair, it happened over 24 - 48 hrs so i dont think at all this will happen to you. but i do think your feeling swelling and not restriction from the band. i would make a decision quick before your insurance runs out, check out the site i told you about, to be honest, i havent found one person who is sorry. good luck on whatever decision you make and keep me posted. if u want to e-mail me direct, it vslawich@gmail.com vicki PS have fun on your cruise, im going for 7 days on feb 27th....:thumbup:)

at this point, i am not drinking plain water, it takes all i can do to get in 11 0z of protien shake to get 42 grams of prot. and some sips of Vitamin water and a cup of broth. thats it for me in a waking day. how long after surg did they let u start eating mushy food and what do u meant by uncomfortable? is it like the band. or im not sure you had a band. does it feel like its in your stomach or higher up? thanks for the info....vicki~

well Janine it looks like we are sleeve sisters LOL..i am also feeling light headed and even though i loved my protien shakes before the surgery i now hate them and feel like im going to throw up with every swallow. i am also light headed and weak and for some reason, i dont think im getting my meds metabolized right? ?? i take paxil and i have gone thru withdrawls before with the "head in the blender' feeling and my blood pressure is high and it never is especially with my meds. so although im not sure how to help you, i thought you would like to know i am with you and feeling very much like you do except i am starving LOL...i hope someone on here gives us a good answer, cause i feel like im gonna faint sometimes and then i took a too big gulp of Water and it got stuck and i felt clammy, has this happened to you or anyone else. sorry for sabotaging your post, i will keep looking at your answers for me too.....thanks good luck vicki

When i prolapsed, it was acute, happened out of nowhere, well maybe not, i was having reflux and they unfilled me a couple times and it didnt get better, so they unfilled me completely on a fri. and sat I got worse and by sunday morning i couldnt swallow my own salive and was bringing up blood, got totally dehydrated and dr H . admitted me thru the emergency room and did emergency surgery the following day. i was bringing up blood right up until they took me in the O.R. they were giving me something to spit it in...sorry if TMI, then dr. hoffman revised the band, but for some reason, partially my own im sure, i couldn't lose any more weight, even though i did great the first 2 yrs. losing 104 lbs. so since my revision in march, and until my sleeve nov.1. i have gained 40 lbs back. Now i am losing again. since being sleeved on mon.

I have always been able to count on you BG, even when i prolapsed...tytytytytytyty,.....weren't you tired of me Pis%%% and moaning on the phone everynight before the surgery...hahaha you've got the patience of a saint...love ya...:eek:

Well NBG, i can only speek for myself, everyone on this site knows i have had many problems with my band fills, unfills, prolapse, revision, yadda, yadda, yadda... Now, let me start by saying i am not sorry i had my band, because although i gained 40 lbs back after the revision, i was still down 60 lbs. I now was revised to the sleeve on mon, nov 1st. and the only thing i am concerned about is a possible leak, but most people are not concerned about that. as far as pain, i have to say the band was more painful, i have not taken any pain meds since tues morn. I had the surg. late mon aft. about 5 pm. was in my room by 7 pm and dishcharged the next morning at 11 am. the hardest part for me now is not being able to eat LOL....i woke up hungry in the recovery room and have been hungry since. with that being said, i hear that once i am on mushies i will be fine, and very little satisfies you and it is a real feeling of fullness, not a stuck feeling in your chest (esophogus). i am down the 8 lbs of fluid accumulated during surg. from iv fluids and a real 5 lb loss as of today. there is a site you may want to check out called verticalsleevetalk.com it has hundreds if not more people who have been sleeved or are waiting to be sleeved and alot of them who had the band first. you could get a wealth of info from there. but dont forget us band sisters, cause we "band" together even after the band is gone...LOL good luck and keep us informed as to what you decided. vicki~~ I am vicki s on the other site. :eek:

my stomach is numb where they cut and removed the port anyone else experience this? Also, when do we expect our first BM>?

I'm not sure of your answer because i am only 5 days post op, but i read your post to get some answers too, my question to you is was your surgery date moved up, cause it says nov. 1 which is when i had mine, and also, how are you getting your protien and electrolytes? you said your only drinking small amts of water? good luck and hopefully we will be giving some advice soon instead of asking all the time like me..LOL
