I don't work but I had my surgery on Friday and felt capable on Monday, different for everyone.

Hi there Tigard!
The pepsi has got to go! Won't work with the band. Make it a pre-condition for her surgery, if she can't quit the soda, she won't have the discipline to follow the band rules.
-
Well, I am BANDED now.
Pre-banders are losers and have no friends!:tt2:
I'm changing my vote:wink2:
-
Good!
The only problem I had was gas pain in my shoulders as expected but that was manageable and gone by day 2.
There is a thread of surgery day stories on the forum that has tons of details if you want to look for it.

Diablo! You snuck your surgery in when I wasn't looking!!LOL yep, My wife and mother were able to take vacation so I've been entertaining:tongue_smilie:

There used to be a guy...scratch that genius, who conducted a scientific poll on this very subject. His name was Dan and he was somewhat of a hero of mine as well as for thousands of others on the forum. Check the wisdom here ....

I am happy that the person has not had to have a fill. Currently, there is no restriction. If you can get to your goal without a fill, then the band is not being utilized and the person could of saved the time, expense, and pain without having the tool installed. The surgery caused this person to have a mindset change, but this could of been done without the surgery if the person achieves the goal weight without any fills. I hope the person achieves her goal weight without a fill. I would like for you to tell me how I was sliming and PB'ing this individual. If I could clarify, she was not saying That YOU were sliming and Pb'ing this individual. Especially since that would be impossible unless you are one of those ectoplasm thingies like on ghostbusters. I think the responses you are getting are a result of your negativity. Where is it your place to tell the OP that she didn't need the surgery or that she could have changed her mindset without the surgery, I agree 100 percent that going to the trouble and expense of the surgery for SOME people is what causes them to change lifelong bad habits and as we know the band represents a lifestyle change not just a diet. And as a side note the OP DOES have restriction without a fill just by having the band in place.
-
If you can reach your goal without a fill, then there was no need in getting the surgery.I believe that the decision just to get the lap band in itself is/should be a change in mind set that will allow you to lose weight. I hope not to get a fill either.
Good job to the OP, keep it up, you can do it and be a role model for those of us who see the band as "just a tool" if you don't need it, don't pull it out of the toolbox.:cursing:

Hey,I'm from Virginia Beach. I will be having my surgery on April 16th. Just have some pre-op procedures to complete (labs, physical & history). Got it all on the scheduled and on the calendar today, so yeah, I'm going through the mixed feelings syndrome.
I wish you all the best!

March 13th here.

This looks like a good story.I think sometimes in our zeal for "peace" we forget that the people who are "serving us", who usually believe in what they are doing "for us", get lost in the middle.
I think it is so important to always remember their service and sacrifice "for us"!
We cannot let what happened to the Vietman Veterans ever happen again!
The men and women who fight for our country should be respected and honored.
Regardless of how we feel about the war itself.
Whatever war that may be at the time.
I feel very strongly about that!
It is happening all over again, what you see in the "civilian" media is the tip of the iceberg, anyone who cares please look into The Army Times or Navy Times, etc. online or by subscription. These stories are the norm but nobody seems to hear about it.

It could happen, friends don't have to agree politically. But then again, you may consider me snobbish since I have already been banded."Oops!" he said "I've gotta go, would you look at the time" as he realized that a friendship could never be; at least until after 13 March. As Dan rode off into the sunset he knew there were some lines that a man just can't cross.:w00t:

Dan,You seem to be a funny guy - and maybe you are just trying to be cute here. If you are, great - haha good one. If you're not, well I'm pretty sure you are so far off base you probably can't be helped anyway. Don't presume to know what I do and do not know about politics or economics. You don't know me and you never will. I have been around long enough and have been engaged enough to know the situation, and I certainly know that even 1 more day of Bush or his failed ideas would have caused even more harm to this country. You had your chance in the last 8 years, look what we got for it...
I might know you, we could become best of friends. Roughly same age, same height, same weight, both on west coast. Maybe we could be lap band buddies:w00t:

And here I was thinking today at the gym that Obama is doing a much better job than I expected. Not that I expected him to do a bad job, but he's been really blowing me away.Nope, way wrong too.:w00t:
