    Is this ok for mushies?

the rule is eat your Proteins first then your vegetables and then your starches/carbohydrates. Don't mix anything together. Start off with your meats, if you're full stop. Puree your meats. Continue on to vegetables, if you're full stop. Finally move on to carbs, when you're full stop. You should actually never get to the carb stage if you balance your plate out with enough Protein. Sure, when you reach your goal you may get there but since you're just starting the puree stage stick with the hydrated meats and vegetables. Don't drink while you eat. Drink 20 min after a meal. and don't drink 30 min before your next meal.

    Mental Weight

same here and my weight has affected my personality. I plan on going to therapy after my surgery because I know I'll never feel the way I should if I don't. It hasn't been a huge character flaw but I tend to restrict myself a lot because of my weight and it kinda has affected my relationship. So therapy is my answer for you. I already scheduled one for me 1 week post op. It's great and once you begin talking you'll feel so much better.

why do I do this to myself....

yeah, Im pre-banded but I am worried about such situations. Its hard when we're used to eating without thinking but now we have to be mindful. I suggest asking them for just the grilled meat, lettuce and tomato without the sandwich bread. You're saving food and you're not putting yourself at risk of slippage. Can't wait till I get banded 6 more days to go.
  5. 6 more days for me, I'm pretty excited.
  6. Here you go! Just follow the directions and you will have your ticker in no time. First choose your ticker and continue from there. Weight Loss - Diet Ticker
  7. I'm getting banded on the 18th too! I'm starting my liquid diet today, it's two days earlier but I didn't want to start it in the middle of the week.

    Worst fill experience!

sounds like mechanical failure of the port. I hope not though.
  9. Well, i'm on solids now. I haven't had the surgery yet. I start my full liquid diet on the 11th and I have my surgery on the 18th. I have to start on mashed/pureed food a week after I think and then solids following my first fill a month later.

  10. If you're like me and will soon be on a full liquid diet don't fret. The iSS® Oh Yeah!® Nutritional Shakes are really good. They come in 5 flavors; Chocolate, Banana and Cream, Cookies and Cream, Strawberry and Cream, and Vanilla and Cream. They are sold at GNC and other nutrition centers. They are on sale now actually for $39.99 this is for a pack of 12. they are 14 fl oz each with 220 calories 3g of sugar and a whopping 32 grams of protein! A regular at my local support group said he could go 2 weeks on these with no problem because after 3 days he wasn't that hungry because the protein keeps you really full. So try it out and hopefully it works for you. I know I will. Also, check out this website http://www.BariatricEating.com
  11. well, my post op diet is 3 days of clear liquids and then I go back to full liquids on day 4. I have a secret weapon for my pre-op liquid diet.

iSS? Oh Yeah!? Nutritional Shake - Chocolate Milkshake

  12. Just keep in mind how bad you want this. Try to look at those foods and hate them rather than obsess over it. I hate most fast food now. And I don't even have the band in yet. My mindset is just geared towards success.
  13. yes, very, excited. I went to my pre-op class yesterday the information is getting pretty old but I guess that's a good thing. I'm going to start my liquid diet on Monday a full 3 days sooner than I should, but I guess i'm just that ambitious lol.

  14. WOW sweetheart181, your transformation is simply amazing. I can't wait to be in my top form.
  15. 10 days before my liquid preop diet i'm trying hard not to over do it but it's sooooooo tempting. Anyone ever sat down at a restaurant and ate more than they should have. All my friends were egging me on and I feel pretty guilty right now.
  16. wow i'm glad your doing so well, did you have to stay at the hospital overnight or were you released a few hours after the operation. I'm excited about my surgery and I'm glad all the reviews I've read of Dr. Cohen have been so positive.

  17. It will be November 18th conveniently set the day before thanksgiving break at my school. Thanks to you guys and this website for keeping me motivated through the months of testing and testing.. and delays. I can't wait to finally be banded and I would recommend anyone in Florida looking to get banded to seek out the Hollywood Bariatrics Team, they're amazing! I'll keep you guys updated.

  25. After lapband surgery how soon did you return to school? Were you able to walk to class like normal or did you have to take you time? Were you late? And most importantly were your professors understanding and allowed you to make up for time missed. I plan on having my surgery in the beginning of the semester in October. Has anyone else had there surgery in the middle of a semester?
