  1. Hi Everyone, I am Patti U I have not had the lap band yet and I need to go to more appointments again etc. at first I was upset about it but I'm just gonna get my heel fixed first. Also I went to my 2nd support group last Monday w/ my Husband ,it was good very inspiring. However I am impressed by the weight loss from people on this board, but also very concerned about the people who can still over eat ect. and not lose. And all the problems occuring. with flipped pots and fills and all. I go back and forth with the band and gastric bypass which my daughter had and did great. I have 85 lbs. to loose. I am changing my ways now and not much is happening, Sometimes I think just do the other and get it over with, cause I think If I could still eat crap after I would, and then what's the sense in any of it? Are you guys who are not losing not following the plan or is it just not working? Like my daughter can't eat bread or sugar, she will get sick. That's really heavy duty too. Look I'm a Libra this is what happens. I was given good advise here about making the decision, Please let me know really about all your sucesses, It will be so appreciated. Patti in Jersey

  2. Thank You so much, I am trying to do just that I have lost 3lbs. since looking into this, and really trying to chew well drink the Water and ride my bike more. I need a foot thing done on a heel spur so I may as well do that now. It's making me mad that they never called and just booked it up, and never said there was any problem until I called them. Tommorow night is the support group, I'm going and my husband too. They wanted to give me the 3rd week in June but I sais no due to my job, never will do that again. jobs come and go but my health is more important. I have sunk into depression over this, I read how everyone is losing so fast after thier band and now I have to wait. I think my husband is dissapointed too. does anyone know what the "abt" is it has to do with the pulmanary test they give you? They said mine is a little high. I am glad for the support. Thanks Patti

  3. Hi hate to ramble but today I found out that I cannot get my band in July like I thought. It would have been perfect for my job and my husband would have been around too. Now they tell me my ABT is a little high and that means another trip to a pulmanary doctor with the chest -rays etc. and wait another 3 weeks for that appointment. Before they were saying the 3rd week in June and then boom July is booked. It makes me feel sad. I won't gve up but I hope this is not the start of heart aches. Does anyone know what the ABT things are? Thank You and good luck to all who are ready to get your bands, I'll pray for you. Patti:think

  4. I'm so mad. I thought I could get my band in July but when I called today they said it was all booked up and now that my ABT THINGS look a little high so now it's another appointment in 3 weeks. I would have had off most of the month of July and my husband would be around too. They were supposed to have called me May 24th about this and didn't. Does anyone know what it means when these tests are a little high? it was the breathing tests and blood gases and I need to bring my chest e-ray too. I'm relly discouraged but not giving up. PattiU ps at least I didn't go and eat a cake.

  5. Hi everyone, I am waiting to hear about a date for surgery and bootcamp etc. I hope it can be in the first week of July, that would work out good with the job. Do you think that the band will work as well as the bypass surgery? They say I can change my mind if I want to. The support group is this Monday comming in Galloway NJ. It's really good. The Dr.O will be Dr. Did any of you have him? Well hope to hear from some of you. Patti

  6. Hi Angela, I just said goodbye to my little granddaughter, I had her for a few days, she is 3 and we had so much fun. Hope you are feeling better. Sometimes I think I should just get the other operation because I have the time to get better and the insurance, but I don't know. My daughter had it and she does great. But any way I'm sure I'll loose on the band too. Let me know how you are feeling? Have a happy Memorial Day! Patti

  7. Dear Angela, Thank you so much for you honest answers. you see I have a job watching 2 boys, and may be offered a job at a photography studio doing photoshop on computer, it is not active work, but the stress of a new position and learning new things plus being in pain may add up. The boys are enough to make staples pop out!!! I have it arranged to wait until the beginning of July for the surgery for the nanny job, so I can rest and my husband will be here all day too. So this has to be my priority, Your loss is wonderful! do you feel hungery? are you still weak? I live near Atlanitic City in NJ. I lived all my life in Philly and we moved here last August. My youngest son is 26.(and really cute). so thanks for writing and lets keep in touch! Thanks Patti

  8. Hi my name is Patti, I'm so happy for you. seeing how you just had your band done can you give me some idea of how much pain you have? I need to know if I could drive and babysit and do my computer job as well? Are you weak from no solid food? Please write back to me? I don't want to give my employers false info, and one, I didn't even mention I'm getting it. all the tests are done and clearance is done, the insurance has to approve it, Take care, and 10 lbs. is wonderful! Patti

  9. Hi Jersey Girls, I am PattiU. I am waiting for my lapband from Dr. O. in Egg Harbor Twp, N.J. I live in Smithville, in Galloway Twp. How bad does it hurt comming out of the surgery? I am gonna go to the support group all the time too. It's sad to hear that people have problems and sometimes don't loose the weight. My daughter had the bypass 3 years ago, she lost alot of weight but seems to be in some sort of pain all the time. well hope to hear from you all. Patti
