    Need Assistance Please

Your IP Address is: 71.137.206.167 Our database shows the following information for this IP: Country: US State: CA City: Dixon Zip: 95620 IP address shows Sacramento but I am in Dixon, CA 95620
  2. :grouphug:I had my 4th fill today. My doc is conservative. My first was 1.5cc, 2nd was .5cc, 3rd .5cc, today I asked for 1cc and boy has that made difference so far. I was thinking my band would never work. I have been stuck on the same 35 lbs since June/July 2008. So hopefully this will be a great new start. Because bofore this I still had a large appetite but now I am on liquids and feel full, full, full. But not too full. Everything goes down well. I am so happy I can't stand it.:cool2::tt2:
  3. Laura, I just got my fill today--but boy can I tell a difference. It's different than it has ever been before. It even feels different. So hopefully this is the beginning of what it's supposed to be like. So now I have 3.5 cc in my 14cc band. Keep me updated on how ya'll are doing. Thanks for replying.

    Doc has strongly suggested RNY

Hi---Granted I'm younger--38yo but I have never regreted the band. I've been banded since 6-16-08. My mother is 64 yo and is starting the process of the band right now and she is 5'5 and 276. Not knowing your doc but in my opinion the band is way safer. Pre-op I was diabetic, had sleep apnea, high blood pressure. 2 weeks out from surgery my diabetes and high blood pressure was gone and after 1 month I was no longer on my CPAP. So if you want the band go for it. Sometimes doctors aren't always right. Take care and I hope you make the best choice for yourself. LEah:thumbup:
  5. I've been banded since 6/16/08 and have PB'd about 5 or 6 times but 1 time was really bad and I actually pucked 3 to 4 times before I was finally comfortable and I believe I just ate too much and have been really conscious about how much I eat and have found that if I hiccup STOP, and even spit out what's in your mouth. It definately takes learning and reteaching yourself.

    Stuck

Had a horrible stoppage last night--I was stuck so bad that it ended up making me throw up. I was slimming and in alot of pain, but once I threw up boy did I feel better. It took about 30 min. and it was so painful. So everyone don't make my mistake and not chew because it really sucks. I've been banded since June 16th and only have 2 cc's in a 14cc band my appetite has come back alittle but I'm due to get my 3rd fill on the 21st. Can't wait. How are all ya'll doing with your bands? Take Care.
  7. I was on my period-- and mine are hell. They just had me wear a pad for surgery, then after I put a tampon in, it hurt my tummy and shoulder to do it but I got it done---I HATE PADS. It was a inconvience, but not much more than usual. Good luck.
  8. KyBandChick, Yes I have traveled outside the US. I was actually born in Germany to a military family in 1970. And spent alot of my life traveling. And still do. But what's you point? TO ALL: I have been called racist on this site many times just because I am concerned about the link between the names of Obama/Biden and Osama bin Laden. That may be a small part of my fears but not all--it's just a coincidence I'm referring not the actual race. I am friends with ppl of all races and religions. Until you prove otherwise, I view everyone good--or as having good intensions. There is good and bad in every race and religion. But it's funny how ppl automatically jump to say you are a "Racist" just because you are concerned about a coincidence. Like I said previously it's just my opinion. But I'm not name calling. You guys don't even know me. Weather a person is white, black, orange, purple etc. It's the person that matters not the color. What's on the inside, how the treat others, we all bleed red!!!! God made us all. We are all brothers and sisters. IMHO, I still don't see Obama as the President of our country, I would have really loved Colin Powell. But I don't think he would ever run. Any way sorry to ramble but I just have been really hurt by the racist comments. It's been weighing on my mind that I even had to talk to my mother and dh about it. Take CAre All
  9. JWRN--I think it's wonderful that your DH served 28 years and amazing he served in Somalia. God Bless him. How's your band coming along? I've been banded since 6/16/08 and have dropped 28lbs. Due to have my 2nd fill 9/19/08 and I can't wait. We are going on a 10-day cruise in Oct. and I definately want more restriction before we go. Take Care, Leah
  10. Amen to that , Jack These Democrats do all this preaching about the Republican party when they need to take a look at the democratic party and all their evils. BOTH SIDES HAVE THEM!!!!! But wait us Republicans are so EVIL---Give me a break. LOL Quit being so blind to your own parties mistakes and focusing only on the others. I just don't care for Obama or his politics or lack there of. Just listen to Rush Limbaugh or Shawn Hanady. Happy Banding
  11. Thanks for the support JWRN But if you watch what the others write and how they write it and the things they won't believe about Obama that is in Black and White and with his questionable upbringing--if they want to be blind LET Them. If Obama becomes Pres they will see what will happen. By the way, my husband is also Active duty and has served this country for 18 1/2 years and my father did too for 21 1/2. I have the utmost respect for our men and women in uniform and for our country. YOu cannot just pull our troops out of a war until their mission is complete or what we went there for will be in vain. If you don't support the war that's all fine and dandy but it's a job that must be finished. And you cannot put a timeline on pulling out it must be done gradually. Once again I am not a Racist. I am a God fearing, gun toting, military wife and daughter, sister ,mother, nurse, Supporter of our Troops and Country and a tried and true REPUBLICAN.:thumbup:God Bless Our Troops and God Bless America.
  12. Indiogirl-It's also his polictics and his inexperience. Plain and simple. At least McCain has tons of experience and history and Palin also has 16 years experience working in government.
  13. steve--I didn't link their names it's written right there in front of everyone's faces.
  14. No Indigo grl-:lovechoc:-I am not a racist I was just referring to the seemingly undenible (sp) similarities in the names OSAMA BIN LADEN and OBAMA LA BIDEN doesn't that seem just too much of a coinidence. A BIG red flag to me. You must be blind if you can't see it waving right in front of you. Obama and his running mate have me scared sh*tless. I live in a state, (CA) of a ton of liberals and alot of them who normally vote democrat are now going to vote rupulican because of Obama. And for the record again I AM NOT A RACIST!!!!! Give'em hell---MCCAIN AND PALIN:thumbup:
  15. McCain and Palin were brilliant:thumbup:When you watch Mccain speak you can tell he is speaking from the heart and he is man who loves his country. Boy is Palin a pistol, she isn't gonna let Washington walk all oner her. Obama freaks me out bad enough he has a Arab name then adds Biden to it. To me it says Osama bin Laden/Obama la Biden how freaky is that? That doesn't make ya'll THINK? All it does is make me think-- what in the hell is going on? That's just a little odd for me even if I were a democrat that alone whould scare me enough to make me vote republican. But I am totally behind McCain/Palin they were great and make some really good points. And talk about a man who is bipartician (sp) he is almost the best of both worlds (rep. and dem.) YOu dem. may not think so but he not totally conservative just look at his voting history. Take Care all, happy banding.:tt2:
  16. Ladies---Look at our history almost every President we have ever had in this country has had military service bein a military wife and a daughter of a military father I FEEL that's the way it SHOULD be. My OPINION!!!! All the troubles that stared out plagueing George W. was the crap that Clinton left behind:thumbdown:. Take a look a why we are in the RED both the Bushes took us through wars and they cost $$$$$. We are a super power and other countries that cannot take care of themselves deserve our help since there are so many other coward countries out there ie France that stand by and do nothing. But like I said just MY OPINION. Oh and by the way, George W sreved in the National Guard---what can be said for Obama. Nothing..............who better to serve and stand up for country than a former POW.
  17. Some of the views of the people in this country just kill me. How can anyone vote for a person for President and to be our commander in chief without any military experience. Obama is inexperienced in foreign politics and in other ways with our millitary. And on top of that people need to stop and realize that the pres. doesn't make many decisions without the backing or ok'ing of congress. So if a conservative wanted to ban abortion he couldn't do it alone without it being voted on first. All you Obama supporters need to look alittle closer at all the experience McCain has in his history as a senator and a veteren. That kind of experience cannot be beat. And another thing look at the history of democratic pres. they make alot of promises but cannot follow through because of the money needed to do them. Obama and his "good" intentions, health care for everyone---NOT A Chance---this country is too far gone for that. Presidents weather Dem. or Rep. can never follow through on all their promises because it takes the backing of congress for them to happen. So think about experience it helps alot.
  18. My surgeon just weighed me but this was just a suggestion for someone who may be at the end of their rope and desperate. Hope everyone is doing well on the band journey.
  19. B: 1c Raisin Bran and 1/2c f/f milk L: 2 pkts grits with 3/4 c f/f milk 1/2 EAS low carb protein bar S: 1/4c walnuts D: 1c homemade chili with turkey and beans, added 1 1/2 0z 2% cheddar cheese and 1 sliced small tomato S: Protein shake 1 c f/f milk and 1 scoop protein Does this sound unreasonable for someone with a 14cc band with only a 1.5cc fill. I'm trying really hard and it's tough not to fall into old habits of eating just to eat. Any tips or ideas would be helpful. Thanks, Leah:smile2:

Jazzy Junes First Fill Line up

Hey Ya'll---I got my first fill yesterday. I went really smooth. Didn't even hurt. I have 1.5 cc in a 14cc band and it has helped some. Hope it continues. If it doesn't doc said come back in 4-6 weeks for another. Hope everyone is doing well. Take Care, Leah
  21. I didn't have to do it but if you are borderline on your weight, think about ankle weights and just wear long pants or jeans to your weigh in. There are also weight belts or weights for pockets. I know it's kinda cheating but but if are only alittle under it's a way to buck the system esp. if you have co-morbidities. Just a suggestion I have read about others doing this to beat the insurance's system of 100lbs over.

    Got my FIRST fill today

Thanks for your replies it's always good to hear how everyone is doing and kinda what to expect. Thanks again, Leah
  23. :lol:Everything went great, can't believe how fast my doc did it. I have 1.5cc in a 14cc band. Just on liquids tonight then a regular diet again tomorrow. WOW can't believe it didn't hurt, thought it would. My 11yo daughter went with me and watched and said that's cool. So I was happy she was interested. She loves medical stuff. Would love any input from band veterns about eating after your first fill. Leah:drool:

Tricare - does is, or does it not

Are you Tricare Prime? My DH is Air Force and I just had the surgery on June 16th and they paid 100%. I did not even have a co-pay, deductible or anything. We are Tricare West and stationed at Travis AFB in California. But as mentioned in other posts you must be 100 lbs over your ideal weight with a co-morbidity or 200% over your ideal weight. I was 304lbs with diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and just doggone tired joints from carrying myself around. I am now 279lbs and have been off all meds for diabetes and high blood pressure since 2 weeks post-op. Good luck with your journey and I would be glad to answer any of your questions. Take Care, Leah
  25. I know it's difficult but things will slowly improve. Be patient. I am 6 weeks out and had alot of the same symptoms you describe. You must go slow with your drinking. Just sips. Don't try to actuallu drink. You have alot of swelling inside the needs to go down. As for the chest pains I too had those and I figure it was also from the gas or the hiatal hernia repair. Continue to try to walk, try Gas X Strips or any other gas relief. It didn't help me much but alot of people on this site swear by them. I know it is hard now but think of the results down the road. I feel so much better now and am due to have my first fill on August 8th. I am now so excited to feel some restriction again, once all my swelling went down I got my appetite back but have controled it and have kept off my 25lbs that I have lost. Keep the faith, things will slowly improve. Take Care of yourself. Leah
