  1. I am having trouble getting Water down. I had an adjustment last wednesday and I could still eat the foods needed. 2 days after the adjustment I have been so tight that I can barly get water down. I figured it will pass like it always does. This time it really has a grip on me. I wonder if a few more days it will loosen up or I should go in to the Dr. for a small unfill. ( I would hate to do that) I have had the band now just about a year and this is the worst it has been. It is the one day you can eat and the next you can't but this wont let up.

  2. I like her but I really feel that if she wanted to run she should have stayed in the Gov. of Alaska. Now she is just a person with out a JOB. so now what do we have. Look at the deal what have you done lately? wrote a book, has a worthless young man as a father to a grand child. I am just calling it as it appears in the public eye. But I for one with the well placed running mate would vote for her. TIME FOR CHANGE (AGAIN)

  3. all I know is when something gets stuck it really sucks. and hurts too. I would say chew your food well and make sure it is not dry when it goes down and you wont have any issues. I have had enough stuck food from being in a hurry that I never eat fast anymore and I never take a phone call when eating ever. Because I always forget to chew well when talking on the phone and it ends in a stuck food deal no matter what I am eating. Yes it sucks and hurts and I hate to bring it back for a second look. You all know what i mean. Yes it hurts. no it's not fun. I do everything to not have it happen ever. Sometimes I get stupid and eat to fast and forget to chew. oh yeah and eat the wrong food. .when you think you should not eat it don't eat it. Scotty d

oh yeah Paypaya or pineapple both work for me but I still have a second look. and it hurts. any questions.

  4. You guys all relax I was banded new years day it's all good and it takes a little time. RELAX it will happen in due time, I to wanted it to come fast, good things come to those who wait!!!!! I know I know well we did not get FAT over nite We don't get skinny overnite relax the weight will go I am down a ton of weight 70 + pounds Its all good. Healthy Happy

  5. well I can see that sometimes a person can over react and others underreact but for the most part one must take accountability for there own actions and a forum is for support and some sort of direction. If you are throwing up 3 times a day see your Doc!!! that is common sence. good grief. I love the post that started this thread.

  6. After your loose your Job due to down sizing and you go on Cobra Insurance for a short while. How are they about fills and Dr visits for the Lap Band. Anyone have to deal with this issue. This is a weird issue the band has been a curse to my life more that a wonderful thing. Getting small is great and I am doing wonderful but the fallout is really getting crazy. The whole loss of Job ties back to a% of this. Now before someone says they can't do that. I said a % ties back that this. Anyway back to the Question. anyone got a answer??

  7. I look at some of the comments here and think, fuel in and and fuel burned. It has always been that way from the beginning. To loose you have to burn more than your consume end of story. The band is TOOL that we all decided to have placed in our bodies. Weather we choose to use it to it's fullest that is your choice. :Dancing_wub: I want a fill and I have been put off till Feb 20th by my Dr. now isn't that crazy. I been put on soft foods I cup of per meal 3 meals a day and I am making smart choices and I have gained 4lbs back what the heck. So now what talk about frustrated. Eating a ton less and gaining this is nuts.:wink2: I am sure it will get better but geez talk about confusing. Maybe I will go back to liquids that was so much easier and I was loosing weight then. Enjoy.

  8. I did it today, I had some beef Jerky right out of the smokehouses, man is that the best. I have not had any since the first part of Dec. when I went on the liquid diet. Oh wow the fresh turkey jerky we were doing today was out of this world and the hickory smoked was pretty darn good too. I also tried a teriyaki beef steak nugget just one right out of the ovens. (had to chew in very little bites) but that went very well also. I think Jack Link's is going to be OK for my band I am so HAPPY for this. I did have the jerky in place of my lunch today.

  9. I too am a Jerky lover and not for the reasons most of the rest of you are. I do Research and Development work for Jack Link's Beef Jerky and I am a newly banded Man. I have been afraid to even try Jerky or Nuggets and even the Tender cuts. I will chew and taste and spit out for fear of getting hung up. This is where the band kind of gets in the way of a persons job but you have to do what you have to do to do to do your job. Lots of now Items coming out in 09 great new flavors in all varieties. Beef, Pork, chicken and Turkey. Soft and Tender for 09 So if you can eat the tougher items this will be a good year.

Beef Jerky is a High Protein and low fat anytime snack or Meal Replacement item. :)

  10. :(

BBQ!!! If you need another taster, I'll be more than happy to help!

Way to go on your weightloss!:)

I myself don't get up in your area but I have friends with teams in your area. I think this forum has a PM area Private mesage deal and I am sure I can hook you up in your area. The BBQ world are a great group of friends. I will see a few of then in Nashville next weekend for the KCBS awards Banquete and only one of these people know I am banded. This will be a trick. I am sure I can pull it off.

By the way you are doing great with your loss keep it up. The goals are insite. I set short term goals every 77 days sounds weird. almost everything I do is based on 7's Good luck.:)

  11. I myself am a BBQ Cook that is on the BBQ trail in the Spiring and summer and fall and after being banded now I am sure I am going to have my wife do most of the tasting before turning in to the judging tents now. At these contest we cook Brisket, pork shoulder, Ribs and chicken the 4 main BBQ meats. I have one BBQ friend I know that has been banded for some time now and he only has trouble with Pork Shoulder as it tends to be stringy. I am sure Ribs if you don't get them chewed will be a SOB also. The chicken we and most of the cooks use is thigh meat so it's not so bad more juicy. Oh boy and Brisket when BBQed just right man there is nothing better tender and juicy. oh crap

Did I tell you guys that a year ago I was 397lbs and today I am 285lbs.

    Good luck to all :yikes:
