  1. On fill days I always try to get in to the Doc as early as possible so it dose not mess up the rest of my daily plan. I change very little for a fill. Although I have my work out finished long before I see the Doc in the day. I am self employed and some days are more demanding than others. I love this one from my Dr. do whatever you want with in reason!

    Bandster Hell.. AhHhHhh!!!

As going through this for a second time I feel your pain. I am hungry as hell, But believe me it is all worth it. drink and drink and drink. Refried Beans from Taco Johns are the best have them leave the toppings off but add mild sauce or hot as I can't have the chunky salsa yet but I do love them and they get you through. I got to have some last night. mmmm filled me up and had no problems. When I eat cream of wheat or coco wheats I just seem to be hungry faster. I am for one not an expert but I have lived with the Band for a year and I get a surprise weekly. Since I had my band repositioned from a slip on Jan 6th it is bandster hell allover again. I will just deal with it. I think it is harder on my wife that me.

    rebanding

I just had a band slip repaired jan 6 I went in for a fill and found out I had a band slip went in to the OR that afternoon the Dr. took out my band and rebanded me at the same time. Although he placed the new band above the place where the old band was located so I will have a smaller pouch. This just happened this week so it is all pretty new for me. I had been banded for a year before I had any problems. Scotty D

I'm not too easily offended, however...

I here F word (fat) and if was directed at me and my used to be 397lbs you got some big trouble coming your way. go figure I am an asshole when you try to put me down. Sorry:cool:
  5. from just going through the surgery to repair a slipped band that was caused by(vomiting) over christmas by my stomach being inflamed by a fill or over fill. Along with a stomach virus or flu like crap. My band had been in at that time almost a year and sewn in very well, the 25 plus times in the bathroom to vomit slipped the band the Dr. thinks. Any how the swallow test showed a band that had slipped and a area of the stomach pulling through the band. With the band unfilled I could only eat 4 small bites of anything and I would be in pain. This is the deal which lead the Dr. to look for the slipped band. They did the swallow test on wed Jan 6 at 10am by 1:30pm I was on my way to the OR for surgery what a way to ruin a day. I am fine no erosion the band was removed and re attached just above where it had been located, my pouch will be a little smaller somewhat but i don't see that as a big issue. I am just glad it could be saved and I still have my band. My Dr. cares enough to see the problem and fix it asap. No bull no time wasting to give it a chance to cause other problems. If this helps great, if not sorry I wasted you time. Scotty d:thumbup:
  6. Yes I had a few dill pickles I had to I had the most powerful craving for pickles. What the heck pickles can't hurt that bad. I told my Doc he said if that is all I did not a problem I think I really wanted the juice. HMMM they were good although it has been over a year ago.
  7. We the Men here are very few. I think most men are Not going to ask the questions but will just read the forum. Which I do that most of the time also unless I have a real pressing issue. I have found it that why walk it alone as someone has been that mile already just ask. Somebody has been close to where you are now.
  8. I have had my band a year and a week and I had to have a surgery jan 6 to repair a slip in the band, I love my band and my Dr and his staff, I could not have lost 180+ lbs with out them. I think the band is the best Weight loss tool there is Keep in mind I was 3lbs short of being a 400lb man. I was big active and unhappy, 2 heart attacts, high blood pressure and diabetes and all kinds of meds, now I am off all meds. So you bet the band is good.
  9. The Doc thinks it was caused by the flu or a stomach virus that caused the vomiting over christmas as I had that whole thing going on. It was stiched in real well and all. I have the 14cc band that is a year old that I was lucky that it was a brand new design when I was banded that can be unhooked and rehooked. It saved me $5000.00 in this surgery I just had yesterday. as for the diet the next few weeks it is just like getting the band the first time. although the band is placed above the spot it was before so my pouch will be smaller and the chance of this happening again is slim as the scar tissue will have to pull through the band and then the stomach will have to come then. But it could happen. As my Dr. says I am in the 2-5% of the people that have issues. I am not mad or upset I am happy to be alive and it is fixed and my Dr. cares he saw the problem and fixed it with no crap. Now I hope the ins pays some or I will find a way to pay. that will be a bitch. I have had 3 major surgery in 13 months all in seporate deducable years. that sucks. oh avoid vomiting at all costs. this is the biggest threat to your band. the other is over eating or stuffing your pouch. stop when your full. We all know when we are full STOP EATING SOLID FOODS
  10. Thanks for your concern Denise It has been a rough road these past few weeks and yesterday was quite a shock just to have a check up and end up in surgery. But all things have a purpose and the DR says that there was not erosion and the stomach looks very good. So I guess I am happy. So How is your Band and program working for you all going well? are you on track for what you want?
  11. Here is an update from my whole ordeal in this thread. Most will not like it as I do not: I went to my DR Yesterday for a follow up and this is what happened. I did a swallow test which showed the banned had slipped and forced some of the stomach up through the band which made it so I could not eat more than three or four small bites of food of any type then it closed off my opening till it moved through. Anyway this setup an emergency surgery I believe I was in the OR in less than 3 hours later with all the rest of the tests that need to be done to get you there. Labs, Xrays, and blood work and so fourth. Keep in mind I went in for a check up. I called my wife to let her know of the situation and hell broke loose as we were in the middle of the start of another winter storm again and she was 50 miles away. I told her to stay put I was fine. she was a wreck I am a big boy and can take care of myself. anyway. So back to the story My Doc says we have to do this now.I am concerned about my INsurance, he says now is not the time to worry about that this is life and death issue. not a cosmedic. We will worry about money later. so here we go. I for one always worry about money. I have had 3 major surgery issues in 13 months now and all in different ductable years (sucks) Any way surgery went great the doc took the band off and repositioned it and could use my band again saving me the cost of a new band. Thank Goodness. I don't know how to really feel now as should I be happy. or sad, mad or relived. I do truly love my Dr and his office staff. They have been nothing but helpful in everyway. They are the best. The band has gotten me off all my meds. High blood pressure, Diabetes, Hypertention and all pain meds for lower back pain and knee pain. So I am good. By the way I have lost over 180+ lbs since my whole journey began. But today it seems I start again with a newly positioned band. is this weird or am i normal. Scotty D
  12. Oh how I feel your pain, I however am feeling a whole lot better since I have had my band emptied out last saturday. I will on wednesday get a fill thank goodness as i am on hungry person right now I am sure I can eat a horse right now and i am afraid to eat too much as I am sure I could eat a ton. But I wont let myself go to town on the buffet. oh how I miss the Chinese Buffet Boy as a fat guy I could put the crap away. now days i can just look at it and wish.
  13. When I started this whole deal I was 397 lbs and now I am 221lbs so it is a win win no matter how or who counts what. so big deal. The scale don't lie no more and really its just a number anyway. At this point I got 20lbs to go or so.

    I'm home!!!

A year ago today I was being banded. wow now that has been a wild ride. Glad your home and your journey has begun. congrats.
  15. I am waiting till the 6th of Jan before I get fluid put back in the band. My Dr. said it is for the best as I had a pretty bad deal and I need to heal. Funny thing is I have pretty good restriction with out anything in the band funny thing right now. I am sure I will not go back to 8cc's for quite sometime. Maybe my stomach needed a rest I have taken off a lot of weight this past year and I am really happy. I have 21 more to go. Or so.
  16. I think it is a feelings and emotions and the transformation a person is going through. I started this whole journey at 397lbs and now I am down to 219lbs now I am not saying I am any better than anyone else but I have had my own set of problems with the band. Just the other day I had to have all the fluid removed just to take in water. I went for to long with swelling in the band area. I could have said things that were not to the liking of many. I got down right pissed at my band and would of had it ripped out 2 days of vomiting stuck in a blizzard. With no access to the dr than can help. 2 visits to the ER one in the town I live and one where I had the band put in. Yes I hate myself who is FAT and still is. Good luck to all and enjoy your journey I have had one heck of a ride this past year. I will continue to enjoy the band. I for one wish to help others like me and I have had 7 friends have the band because I did it. I don't hate fat people or the original poster. I Feel Your Pain. I for one am here to help. It is no fun alone.
  17. No the sign is for 20th in ribs at the American Royal BBQ contest back in 08. but I do like Tony Stewart I am into nascar also.

  18. I did try the motrin with no help, With all the Fluid out of the band Water and liquids still go down really slow. One thing I know for sure is that I will work his out as the ER said that if I still have problems the band has to come out. I for one do not want that. At Least the fluids are starting to flow and I did not have anymore IV's. also I did not have a real bad stuck issue to cause this. being this far into the band I surprised myself with this whole deal. I hope the band calms down. I will go see my Band DR> on wed. I am sure I will get some of my fluid in the band replaced. Thanks for your reply your the best. scotty d.
  19. I ended up in the ER and sob. they took all my sailine out. now I have no restriction. I had been in bandster hell for way to long. I had 2 bags of fluids put in by IV . Now I can at least get liquids down now. They had to take the fluid out by using a xray machine as my regular Doc. was not available. I sure this will be the most expensive unfill I have ever seen. Now I hope the band calms down. as I was swelled to the point of no fluids going down.
  20. I really don't think any dr will say eat all you want till your full. I been in this game for a year now and have not seen it. Ask your DR.
  21. Really you should only be eating about a cup of food per meal. anymore and you can hurt and or strain your band.
  22. Sounds like my day although I have a bucket and I can not get water down. It has been a bad 10 days and I am one jittery queezy person. I for one just would be happy with water. I will work on food later. As for you My Friend Go to liquids you are inflammed as well as I am and this is not fun. I have been banded for just about one year. This is the worst ride I have been on. It will end soon I know it is the stress of knowing there is no help for me as I am out of reach of a bariactric clinic and God only knows where I can get some fluid taken out of the band except for there, Go liquids.
  23. they did for three months that is it. the rest was up to me.
  24. I now can not even keep the slim down, this is after a unfill of .5 cc now we are in a blizzard on christmas and the Dr.are fifty miles away on roads that have been closed for 36 hours. I need more out of the band and no where to go. I have been in vomit mode for 12 hours or more. Do you think Pepto would help calm down the band, never tried this but I will give anything a try.
