  1. sure, it always helps to have someone helping to keep track of progress. I figured when I got a little further into this I'd join in one of the threads tracking loss etc.. I was banded on 3/3, so far doing well, recovery was easier than I expected.

  2. Re: Lap band vs RNY, I'm going for lap band, don't like the idea of re-routing intestines etc...Both have benefits / drawbacks, a big difference I see is the lap band complications are fewer and generally less serious. The complications from lapband are nuisance problems. Getting food stuck, PB's, sliming, pain from stuck food ...most sound controllable, but sound like many get frustrated due to not making the changes required to work with the band. RNY limits amount, but does not necessarily restrict what foods they eat. Lap banders have trouble with different foods etc... you can read of lot of info on this site and get more details / opinions. Good luck

  3. RE: your question about a PB. It's short for productive burping. You'll see it a lot when also reading about sliming. PB'ing is basically a burp that frees up a stuck food item. Usually from eating too large a piece or too much. Also sounds like it happens if drinking while eating ( another reason they're against that). Sliming is when a lot of saliva is produced, again due to stuck food. Because the opening is blocked, the body is trying to produce saliva to help dissolve it or move it down. -- I'm also new, scheduled for later this month, but I've read this in other threads. Someone has a detailed explanation, you may come across it if reading about PB'ing.
