Some Good News, Some Not-So-Good News

That is a really hard card to be handed. I don't know what this will mean to you on your journey, but know there will be many of us praying for you through this. Women's issues...one thing is for sure, they're found in women. Good luck to you...good thoughts are being sent your way.

Michelle, Everyone is different of course, and I generally have a very high tolerance for pain, but i want to share with you that my pain has been ubelievably minimal! I can feel a tug at my port site when I roll over, or move too fast. The only other pain i've had is that dang pinched nerve in my neck...but a massage therapist got rid of 70% of that in 30 minutes! Woo Hoo Massage Therapists!!! I just want to encourage you to take the anti-anxiety med they might offer pre-op, and let your life rest in the mighty hands of the anesthesiologist!! (I should've maried one of them!) Your pain after shouldn't take too long to leave, and in the end...it's way better than the pain we've all experienced in our back, legs, hips, knees, and feet. Kudos to you!!! Hang in there~you'll do great!!

Add me to the 4th of May list. So far, so good...I guess! Dealing with a pinched nerve, but better for it by all means. Good luck to everyone else jumping on this roller coaster!
  4. Wow! I was also instructed to drink every ounce in a 5-10 minute parameter. This makes one of those yogurt shakes take me all morning....I'm always feeling on the brink of fullness. After the past few days of Clear Liquids only, I am looking for...or going to invent liquid potato chips!! But somehow I've got to crunch something. I have also found in taking time to drink that I can either enjoy or get sick of the flavor faster, thereby causing me to not consume enough. I know I'm not having any where near 800 calories a day. I'm interested in what everyine else found tasty in the first few days post-op. If I can make it through the next 10 days on liquids only, it'll be a miracle!

Where are all the Michigan people at??

I chose Dr. Boutt. He did my seminar, and frankly, who wouldn't want to wake up with someone that handsome looking at you? He has a brilliant mind and is very thorough. I highly recommend Port Huron and Dr. Boutt. 4 days post-op the only significant pain I am experiencing is a possible pinched nerve in my left shoulder. It is keeping me out of work for another day. But it is excrutiating, especially when compared to the lack of pain I have from my incision sites. Has anyone else had this? Josette, I feel your heart in your signatuer line. I lost my Mom Feb 2005 (59 yrs) to ovarian cancer. What an evil disease. It also took my Grandmother 15 years earlier. They tell me it's not hereditary...but I don't believe them. God bless you. Thanks all, I'm just learning the Board thing! ~Tricia
