I have another week and two days till i can change over to a pureed diet.

  5. Hello Jill,

I just started getting hungry today, but I will tough it out because i did not go through this surgery for nothing that is the way I look at it and if I would start to eat things I should not then there could be more problems and i really dont want to go through another surgery. I do still get the shooting pain in my left shoulder and it hurts a lot sometimes, matter of fact i am going through it while I am typing this message to you. Other than that I am doing well. I am no longer on any pain meds. I am getting on my tread mill today to excerise for little .

Since my liquid diet I have lost 11lbs and my heights weight was 259 i am now 248. I would like to be 140 but I set a small goal for now which is 180 then i will try to get down to 140 and if I go beyond that is great. I am 5'6 and dont want to be too skinny so i thought 140 was a god weight to maintian.

    Thanks!

  6. 2 of my incisions are above my belly button to the left and then one to the right, they are about 4inches and then I have 2 smaller ones under my rib cage about 2 inches. Then the last one is between my rib cage. I got out of the house today for a bit and did somethings and it is very cold here in PA. i will be going out tonight as well to see my Bloody valentine in 3D. I just will not be able to have my pretzels with cheese :yikes:. I can't wait to actually eat again. Some one said food can be addicting, that sure is the truth and that is why we all now have help.
  7. I am doing good today. I still have some gas pain and my stomach churns a lot. I will be going back to work on Monday. I seen a few people had mentioned the # of their incisions i am wondering why there were different #'s? I had 5 and andylou had 6. Does any one know why that is? adamsmom - That is awesome news. i am glad to hear your able to get some exercise in. I will be trying my tread mill on Sunday. I would like to join a gym. it's very cold here and when winter comes I stay indoors. so a gym would be very good for me.
  8. I had a rough nights sleep myself. I also did cough up some stuff but that was yesterday but i am good now. i am feeling much better and was able to take a shower and ware comfy clothing as well. I have not taken any protein shakes i have to go get some tomorrow and no vitamins. I would be taking some now but I sent my fiance to the store with a list and he did not even get what I asked for I wanted Chewable vitamins and he got me the regular. So now i have to get them myself tomorrow. I have been drinking soy milk and water also propel and eating sugar free jello. I really need to get some fruit juice and soups that are not creamy or have any kind of veggie or meats in them something like tomato soup would be good.
  9. I have a hernia myself but Dr Garcia said it was not that bad so he did not have to fix it. I will be on a liquid diet for another 2 weeks till my follow up visit with dr Garcia. That is when he will take me to the next phase of eating, which will be the consistency of baby food.
  10. Hello Everyone, THings went well for me, I had to stay overnight in the hospital. My Dr recomends this with all of his patients. I do have lots of Gas pain and it shoots into my left shoulder, I did get some Morehphen, did not like the way it made me feel so the next time I only asked for half. My pain meds for home is tylenol with codine. I also had to take a swallow test this morning before I left the hospital. Then that is when I was aloud fluids again. I have been walking as much as possible to get the air out and this to me is the most uncomfortable feeling. Everything else is great. I was gonna go back to work tomorrow but I will wait it out one more day for rest. Glad to see everyone elses is good to.

Me January 3rd, before liquid diet and lap banding
  13. For Baylee, I think every doctor is different There are people that are on 14 day pre-op and some 21 days, then you have some thathave no diet to follow. Your best bet is to listen to what you Dr wants you to do. Mine has me on clear liquids Like sugar free Jello, broth of any kind, any diet drink like crystal light ect and sugar free jello pops. Any way, My Dr. told me nothing after midnight on Monday and it was said like this, anything that touches my lips does not belong in my mouth.
  14. Hello everyone, I am on my 3rd day doing this pre-op diet and i am doing well, but I must say I AM HUNGRY!! I had my pre admission testing this morning @ 8am. they did an ekg, blood work, urine and i talked to an Anesthesiologist about my medical history and the procedure for Tuesday. People are asking me If I am nervous, I am more excited than anything. I will be nervous when i am in the hospital getting ready to enter the operation room. My new life will be starting in just 4 more days!

    New Here

Hello, I am new here, I am a mother of one and just recently got engaged for Christmas. I have been overweight since I was a child. I am now 33 and have tried many weight loss programs and i have lost weight but always gained it back plus some. So I thought the lap band would be a good thing for me and I just recently was approved for the surgery and the date is set for January 13th 2009. I am excited, I am now on my liquid diet and may need some support. This was one reason why I decide to join the thread. The second is the support after surgery. thanks in advance.
  16. Thank you, Cograts on your success. I am new here and trying to learn the in and outs. How do you put your tracker as your signature?

Congrats to both of you. This Pre-op diet thing is not very easy. I dont have hunger pains but i am hungry and want to eat. it dont help smelling foods when people at work a making food for lunch. I pre made my dinners for my family here at home so I did not have to smell or look at the food.
