  1. Yea, I drove to Palmdale on Tuesday because they neglected to tell me his schedule had changed since scheduling my appointment. Sigh. I will see about the new guy, I am supposed to have an appointment in 2 weeks, but the way I am now, I may not need it, so I will see. The last fill though, Dr. Sal had a hard time finding my port and actually bent the needle..it was a bit sore for a couple days...but yea, it was interesting....my poor hubby couldn't watch :P

I had Dr. Salimitari, he is a good doctor, my surgery had no complications, and he was very good at hearing my concerns and getting me to the place I needed to be when I began having fills. I highly recommend him.

OMG Ready for summer 50 lbs lost!

    Fabulous!!!!
  5. Dang girl look at that FACE! You can totally tell! I got my 4th fill on Tuesday, and I am feeling it, I hadn't lost anymore with the last 3, so this is sort of new territory. I just found out, Dr. Sal isn't coming to Valencia anymore, and was bummed. I have to either go to Palmdale or West Hills if I want him, or go to this new guy...I am a little scared for the new guy since though he's a doc, he's not MY doc, you know. :) Anyways...hope all is well with you. Talk to you soon.

  6. Not much, just had my 4th fill, and oh my...it is like night and day, I actually got stuck last night eating like an ounce of chicken, I was shocked! I had eaten about a 1/4 of salad for lunch and figured I should eat something for dinner...yea, had like 2 small pieces we had cut up for salad the night before...and the pain and uncomfortablility factor were huge. Not pleasant, but I definitely feel restricted now. I was getting frustrated because I hadn't lost any since the last time I weighed in, so my doc wants me to come back every two weeks, I am thinking I won't need anything after this :) I have already dropped 2 pounds. So how is everything with you...get the move/job transition done? Still no leads for us...just waiting and seeing what comes up. Anyhoo...working hard or hardly working..it's Friday, thank goodness! Talk to you later.

  7. Trust me this is normal...until you start really feeling hitting your stride (around your sweet spot) you will feel like you can eat just like your normally do. I anticipated this, and just ate really really healthy, lots of salads, lots of protein, and basically cut out carbs completely. I went in on Tuesday for fill #4, and after I came of liquids that first day after I tried a salad which I could have previously finished and only ate 1/4th! I wasn't really hungry the rest of the day, and tried some chicken at night, and was horribly tight...so now I am seeing the restriction, and it is like night and day, it just takes a while to get there. You will be thankful you DIDN'T get gastric, though the weight comes off FAST a bunch of people at my work had it done, and yes you can tell, but mainly because they are like deflated balloons, because their skin hasn't been able to retain it's elasticity as the weight comes off. Doing it gradually like this, although slow and completely frustrating at times, will be a more healthy gradual drop that will keep your tone and skin firmer as you do it, plus the added benefit of not having completely rerouted your anatomy. Keep it up, you will get there!

I live in Valencia, and yes...I had issues with his office, but he is the BEST, he is an awesome doctor, will give you his personal number if you have any issues, and gives great care. His office is not a reflection of his skill, and I have seen them get a bit better actually now that some have been replaced.
  10. Oh yea....Star Trek, X-Men Origins, and Transformers all looked good...I am the geek as well, don't forget :P

  11. Haha...yea, LOST is rad, we are again weeks behind on that...our evenings have been so full, we just need to have a LOST marathon..haha. How's life treating you...I put on a pair of pants today that haven't fit for about 9 months...woot! So happy about that.

  12. Wow...congrats! 50 lbs, 5 miles, I am soooo proud of you!!!! I am about the same...still just the same 20-25 pounds, which is sort of a bummer. I have another appointment on Tuesday where I will mention to him that I am just plateaued...literally. I have been eating nothing but salads and meats...I have almost completely cut out carbs unless they are sugar-free, and it has just been a fight with the scale. I am wearing my old clothes, which is nice to know they fit again, but it is still hard thinking I should be down more nearly 2 months after the fact. So glad to hear you are going to Vegas and feel normal, that is so exciting. :) I will have to text you again so you can get my number. I too have an iPhone and I love love love my phone, I use the livestrong app to track all my meals, it is really convienent. Anyhoo, have a blast in Vegas, good to hear from you!

Nope, he was great, and I was fine after surgery. I was banded 2/13. He is really good about any issues you have, and has even given me and my husband his cell in case we had any questions or concerns.

In my size LARGE Aeropostale shirt :)

Yay! I can't wait to be in LARGE, I am refraining from buying any clothes until I have lost at least 50 pounds
  15. Yea, I am not sure what size band I have, I am guessing the 14cc, so we shall see if that does much, I don't feel as hungry which is nice...but this is only day 1. As for the finale, I liked it, but I thought it could have just ended with the shot of Hera, and then done...we didn't need the robot montage at the end with the mitochondrial Eve reference...that was a bit much. I am looking forward to seeing it from the other side...that will be neat. What did you think?

  16. Ick....Big Mac, I never ate those even without a band...no thanks :) They are looking into it, I am just thinking that detail never made it into my chart. Watching my doc get mad, and tell me he is going to call people yelling is kind of fun....since if you gave him a machete, and some dirt on his face, I wouldn't want to meet him anywhere for any length of time...I mean, what's to guess, it is either 10 or 14, and being at 7.3cc, my money is on the 14. Enjoy the big mac...I would want some southern style bbq...but that is just me ;)

  17. I know...well my husband is actually the major BSG freak, but he got me sucked in, and we have been hooked ever since :) Post banding has been good....I am now up to 7.3cc's in my band and am still waiting for restriction, so we shall see. How are you doing?

  18. Good to hear that is getting fixed soon, that sounded a bit scary. How long is 'concert season', hope you aren't away from the fam too long. I got a fill today, I think I am now at 7.3cc's, still trying to find out what size band....apparently my chart has still yet to make it over to our office....who knows. I am just hoping for some restriction, so we shall see. :)

  19. Oh no, that is not good...how is that going to get fixed now that you aren't near your regular doc? Glad to hear you made it safe, I am going in again tonight for a fill to see if we can tighten things up, since I have yet to be truly restricted, but hearing you, I am not sure if I want to be there :( Feel better, and keep me updated.

  20. So how did it go?

  21. So I saw it....mixed thoughts. Could have just left it at the shot of Hera, adding in the montage at the end was like...why, leave room for imagination. Looking forward to seeing it from 'their' perspective this Fall! We will have to get our LOST dialogue going too ;) Have a great weekend!

  22. Indeed, so say we all!

    135 pounds, March 2009

Wow...that is awesome, I can only hope my belly scars could be so faint....did you use anything to lighten them?
  24. Aww...thanks...I was a self-pay too, which was lame. Got the shirt at Kohl's...if you wanted to add it to your wardrobe :)
