    Over 50 lap bandsters

Hi everyone, I am 57 and about to be banded in two weeks!!!! YEAH! Of course I am also concerned about not healing as quickly and my skin not being as elastic and not coming back but not having high blood pressure and not getting diabetes seems to make it worthwhile. I am on pre-op and doing well!

    My date!

thanks Cloe, As you can see, I got it to work! It looks like you and I are going to be close together and both Dr. C patients. I am starting my pre-op diet today - it is 4 days early - however, I know that I have a fatty liver and I am trying to do all I can to help that situation out. I am looking forward to watching the progression we make - and you can "lean" on me for support through this journey. Good luck - and you have done really well on your pre-op diet - keep up the good work - May 26 will be here before you know it.

    My date!

hi mandi, Oval is supposed to be the equivalent of GasX - it is made for infants - so you have to take a fairly large dose - but I couldn't find anything else in liquid form in several drug stores I checked. I won't forget my pillow - thanks! lol jude048 june 2/06

    My date!

Hi Everyone, I too am getting excited - my date is June 2 at 12:00 with Dr. cobourn. Is there anyone else here who is going on the same day???? I am travelling home - to Trenton area (about 2 hrs) later that afternoon and am not looking forward to that journey but I am sure they will give me something to ease the pain and perhaps let me sleep most of the way. I am allergic to codeine so I can't take what they usually give. I start my pre-op diet on Friday and I am having all of my blood work and ECG done on Thursday this week. I also have to send my funds this week. I bought my opti-fast while I was there for consult and Marie said that I could have 225 cals in veggies - either steamed or raw each day. I think that I am prepared both physically and mentally for this - I have done all of my shopping - both meds (Oval, tylenol, Calcium, gravol) and food (juice, broth, baby foods etc), made arrangements for someone to "nana sit" my mother for two days and I even bought myself a used treadmill (sitting in my bedroom right now). I watched the video of the live surgery the other night from Hartford and was impressed with the simplicity of the technique. It is truly amazing! This board has been such a help - I have no fears - just excitement. thanks to all for the encouragement and for sharing your journeys with us! jude048 Dr. Cobourn June2/06

    Who were you banded by?

This is my first post! I am being banded by Dr. Cobourn on June 2/06! I am very excited that this will be the LAST time that I will have to lose this weight. I have done it a number of times but it keeps finding me again! Of course it is self-pay and I have to do it on a line of credit - but I am now confident that I will live long enough to pay it back!!!! I was very impressed by Dr. Cobourn and his staff and I am looking forward to a life long relationship with his office and staff. Thanks for all the help that you guys give through your posts about your experiences and your challenges. Thanks for being so open and honest! It really does help the newbies. jude048 243/243/140
