Thank you for sharing your beautiful and well written story! Knowing your surgery date is almost here, I am able to go back three years and rememer exactly how I was feeling when I was this close to my surgery date. It was, without a doubt, the best decision I ever made in my life and I look forward to hearing how you and your friend are doing throughout this process! Best of luck to you both!

In looking back to when I was in the hospital after my RNY, I think the one thing that turned out very important was my chapstick. Since you cannot drink, or I couldn't at least, until after my Upper GI test the morning after surgery, my lips were incredibly dry and uncomfortable. Using my favorite chapstick was very soothing.
