    I'm Back !!!

Hey Sunshine!!! Well done! The trick is not to let yourself feel sore or uncomfortable. GEt back to normal as soon as possible. Keep us in the loop on how you're going. Megs
  7. Hey Shaggs,

It is a small world. My brother lives on Weston Rd close to Panania station, and I lived at Mick Maulins, or at least it felt like it!

I'm pretty discouraged at the moment. Have only lost 200g in 2 weeks!! i was so caught up with how much I lost on Optivile and in the first week that I am not coping with the minute loss!! Am trying to be good this week to get a better result at my first appoint with surgeon next week. This is such a roller coaster of a ride... but according to everyone on here it is worth it. I'm scared that I am going to sabotage myself like i have every other time....b lah blah blah enough of that.

Not long to go fo ryou now!!! Good luck with the Optivile. I was good for a week and then couldnt stand the hunger anymore...but i am sure u will be fine!!!

Keep me in the loop on how u r going.

    talk soon

  8. Hi Leanne,

Just looked at your last post. 70kg lost... you are a legend!!! How long did it take you to lose that much?

    Do you have a blog.

i'm starting to think I wasted my money, but having said that I know I am only at day 21! I was so caught up in how much i lost on Optivile and in the first week I can't handle that I have only lost 200g in 2 weeks. aaarrrggghhhh.

    Anyway... have a great day.

    What to take to hospital

Good Luck for tomorrow!!!! You'll be fine, I promise. Day 19 for me and I havent stopped eating and drinking all long weekend.....Can't wait for a fill.
  12. Hi.

I do live in VIC, but am originally a Sydney Gurl!! Grew about around Sans Souci and my brother lives in Panania. Next time I'm at his house I'll pop round for a coffee (read wine!). I'm always up for going out and being gorgeous!!

  13. Hey no probs with the friend request - it's a first for me too!! Where do you live again? I have forgotten.

Anyway.... great news about your surgery date!! That is my son's 2nd bday so i will definately remember. Bugger the money, it's all worth it. If it was a heart (or similar) operation you wouldn't be worrying about the money.

The chocolate Optivile isnt too bad, but the vanilla is really bad. You get used to, but...... yuk! I found the colder it was, the easier it was to drink. Lots of Ice!

Anyway, I see that you are loading photos - can't wait to take a look.

    talk soon

hey shaggs, look I am eating pretty much anything I want now at night (sticking to fluids/mushies during the day), but I am only having small portions and taking it slow. Having said that i haven't tackled a steak yet and I dont want to. I made chicken risotto for dinner and it has been fine. Salads have been fine as well. Just making sure I chew and chew and chew and chew........my other half has started calling me 'Bessy'! once you get over the surgery and you realise that it's not that big a deal, life gets back to normal really quickly. From reading other posts and relating that now to my own experience, it takes a while (and a few fills!) for the op to be 'life changing'. Don't expect to much of the band,or yourself and things should be fine. It's not an overnight fix, it's the start of a loooong journey. Stay happy!!! Megs

    Banding 27th Jan

Hey. Having a bender wont kill you, but I think it has killed my weight loss for this week as it hasnt been much. Either that or because i lost so much weight in the first week, my body is deciding it wants to hold on to some for a while. And it's not like I havent been active- dancing for HOURS, walking around the zoo for HOURS, swimming for HOURs and chasing after kids for DAYS. I dunno... I do have to say that am now at day 14 and I am hungry!! I could eat a horse and it's trainer. Eating mushies just ain't doing it for me, so I have started having salad and soft meat for dinner and I am having no issue with that. On the good side, I'm not eating anywhere as much as I normally would. I was tempted to ring my surgeon yesterday and ask for a fill 2 weeks early just so I wouldnt eat too much. I am really struggling with preparing food for everyone else and not being able to eat with them. Oh well........such are the trials and tribulations..... Hope everyone is well and happy! Megs

    Banding 27th Jan

Hi, It's all going a bit too well. I am day 11 today and last night I went out for what was meant to be a few quiet wines with the girls and ended up an alcohol fuelled debaucherous dancing frenzy that finished at 6am this morning! Even managed to have McDonalds on the way home (By this stage I had completely forgotten about the band) when I am meant to be having fluids only. The burger and fries went down without so much as a hiccup. So now I know I can eat, it is much harder to deal with the fluids only. WHAT HAVE I DONE!!! But on the bright side, I did get a nice little ego boost while I was out. Much more male attention than I am used to. Would have been a great night if it weren't for the hubby and kids tucked up in bed at home. At least I remembered about them!!! LOL Going to bed now. Need sleep Megs
  19. Hey Tully, Well done!!!!! Paul Burton is my surgeon too. I see him on the 3rd Feb....I'll warn him that you are coming! Did you tell your GP where he can shove his judgement?? Nobody chooses this surgery as a first option. Everyone has tried every other diet, program, medication before they start even researching Lapband. My GP didn't flinch when I asked for my referral. I took this as a sign of disapproval and asked why she didn't seem happy about it. Her response was 'good on you! best thing you could possibly do for yourself'. Don't let anyone else's negativity get to you. you are doing what is right for you!!!
