  1. Mine is (and don't laugh Wasa) Fucked up Freak bwaaaahaaaaaaaaa
  2. Dozy-after about 30 pounds were gone, my knees and back felt better .Now that 50+ are gone , I look so much better and people are treating me different (better). It is really weird.
  3. jane-I am so glad that you are feeling better. We were worried about you.
  4. My mom says that it is so hard to give up on your child. Sometimes it just breaks my heart to watch her try to help my brother. He doesn't want her help because he isn't ready to stop yet. He may never be. Booze has cost him everthing, two marriages, one son, numerous jobs, his health, his self respect, everything. Donna is so right, it is not your fault. It is also so sad but true that you cannot save an alcoholic---they have to save themselves.
  5. Maybe if you point out to your ex that the excess wt will most definitely shorten Jessica's life.....not to mention lessen the quality of it. I do know that if I had had the option of getting the band when I was in high school, I would have. I think my mom and dad would have agreed too. They saw how much I struggled to fit it, although I kept much of the ridicule a secret from them. I have only recently began to share some stories with my mom ( I am 45) from my high school years. Some I have completely blocked out from elementary and middle school. I would research this with my daughter and maybe include her dad if you all are on really good terms. Invite him over and go through the research. Maybe Jessica could share with him some of the problems her obesity is causing her-both phycically and emotionally.
  6. Yes, there you go! Now you can post all over this wonderful board. Welcome, nice to meet you!
  7. I can see your post. To reply just hit "quick reply" under the post and see if it works.
  8. Hi darnell239-first you need to go for a consult and ask your questions to a qualified surgeon. I do know, however, that the amount of food you can eat is severely limited with the band. If you eat your protein first, as is recommended, you will have very little room for other stuff. I have been banded 6 mos and still cannot eat bread so sandwiches may no longer be an option. You do have to plan your food more. 3 meals and 2 snacks works well but I am often not hungry and actually dread having to eat. This is a BIG change for me. Goodluck and hope this helps.
  9. Hi all you guys! Welcome to LBT. Banding will change your life. Those of you who are not yet banded, you will find lots of answers here. For the newly banded, there is plenty of advice and support here too.
  10. HI LuvinlittleD! Welcome to LBT. You will find much support and good advice here. While you progress on your journey, the folks here will be there to help you and listen when you need an understanding ear. Talk to you soon!
  11. Hi blueguy! Welcome to LBT. You will love it here. The support and advice is wonderful. Sometimes only a person who has a band can understand the good and the bad. I hope to be seeing a lot of you on the board in the future.
  12. Dozy-congrats on being banded! You are starting a brand new life. You will be amazed at how quickly your knees and back will better. Just a few pounds will make a big difference. Goodluck and welcome. There are some wonderful people here and you will make many friends.
  13. demsvmejm- don't ignore it. You deserve better than that. The fact that he is having the emails forwarded is what would make me upset. Confront HIM. He is the one you have a commitment with. Then, (as the ever wise green says) the two of you work together to stop her from interfering in your lives. He may have to make a choice...
  14. I am for it in certain types of cases. I think some sort of safeguard should be in place so people cannot just kill someone and say that they wanted to die. Maybe people could put it in their living will that they would want assistance if needed.
  15. I don't think Susan is on this forum right now. Maybe she will see your advice later. I think a bunch of people have decided to abandon posting on here. Something about beating a dead horse or something like that....I guess I will join them:rolleyes:
  16. My doc also suggests full liquids the day of a fill and mushies the day after.
  17. add to last post--oh, and the reason you don't know me is because I do not post at OH. I am a member there and sometimes read (or used to). This board is where I post and if you came around on a regular basis , you would already know that.
  18. The plateau I posted about in the original post is evidently busted. I am down 2 more pounds and it is staying off.
  19. After a few exchanges, begin to use a corruption of your opponent's name (from the article Wheetsin pasted earlier in this thread) It is not msprutte....... wrk-up-sndysass- or whatever your name is. It is mrspruett. (Difficult for some maybe)It is embarassing for you, I am sure. Being caught being in a lie on a public forum and all.As I said before YOUR NAME was never mentioned here before you began posting in this thread.
  20. Gotcha! Goodnight!
  21. You had even already posted before he mentioned you.....
  22. You were already here when he mentioned you....
  23. :rolleyes:How so? You were never attacked. I don't think you were even mentioned. You said you were asked to read this thread but I read back over it and don't see any place where you needed to defend yourself. LBT is different things to different people and that is OK here. So chill:cool:.
  24. I guess that depends on YOU. Would you show up in a pack... er ...group to defend all 234 folks?
