  1. To give the update, on my journey, the past couple weeks I've been having serious chest pains. Went to the doc to have it looked at, and he unfilled me to see if it'd help. Still pains, and now I've gained a couple pounds. I just got back from a work trip in Alaska and I need to setup a visit with my doc. Until then, it's back to good ol' will power and exercise. Hopefully we can figure out whats going on with me. Wish me luck!

  2. Wow! 114. That's awesome. Got any before and after photos?

  3. Jane. I must say I love all your non-scale victories you post. You really keep that thread going. Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say you're doing awesome. Keep up the good work!

Girl! I think you looked super-cute to begin with, but you're doing awesome. Keep up the good work.
  5. What's the word, girly? How are things going? Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well.

  6. What up girly? How are things going for you? I haven't heard from you for a while. I just got back from another work travel trip to Alaska. I actually gained weight up there. :-( So, back on the wagon for me. Hope all is well!

  7. I just saw your pics you posted. You're doing great. Good job!

  8. Hey Drew! Thanks for checking up on me. I haven't been doing too well, to be honest. I lost a lot early on, but then I have had literally no restriction and kind of plateaued. Which stinks. I have no fill because I've been having chest pains and my doc thought it was because my band was too tight. Well, I'm still having chest pains, so I will need to have this checked out. I see you're still doing well with your band. That's awesome. Keep up the good work! I'll post when I get my results from my next doc visit.

I agree. You all look amazing. Keep up the good work. You're inspiration to all.
  10. I'm so off the wagon right now. I haven't lost weight for weeks (months?). I've been traveling so much for work, not working out as much, and just feel absolutely no restriction. The worst part is I have heartburn all the time so my doc thinks my band was too tight.

  11. Great job, dude! You're an inspiration to all.
  12. I got banded almost a month ago. I started out so strong for the first couple weeks, worked out all the time and was dropping weight like crazy. However, the past 2 weeks I've been on travel for work, and am literally living out of restaurants and hotels. No time to work out because we've been working 16 hour days. At the end of the day, we usually end up at a bar to "unwind". Well, being that no one know I'm banded, and I don't want them to suspect anything, I've been consuming with them like I would on prior trips (pre-band). Eating bar food, drinking lots, and having good times. I've been doing my best about ordering healthier food and trying not to finish my meal, but don't always do well. Well, needless to say, I hate myself for giving into the temptation because I'm so early in my journey and still have a lot to go. Are there other people out there that are giving into temptation to hide the truth about their band?
  13. It seems like the more people I encounter, the more diverse answer I hear for how long on post-op liquid and/or mushies diet. My dietician said 2 weeks of liquids, 2 weeks of mushies. My surgeon said 1 week of liquids should be fine and 1 week of mushies. I was banded on Feb 13, 2008 and can't wait for real food. What were you told and what did you do?

    How long on post-op diet?

Oh, sorry. I thought someone would have answered. As for the hunger, it's not an issue once you're banded. Now, don't get me wrong, the first couple weeks post-op are a little difficult because you're still adjusting and healing, and as you get near the next phase of the diet (liquid->mush, mush->solids), it gets hard to stay full on liquids/mush. But once you move get back to normal food, it's like before the band, except you get full quickly and stay full for longer. So, all the hunger pains that people are referring to is only very temporary. Does that answer your question?

    Drinking after eating??

Dr.Feiz. He just joined the forums. Please feel free to message him giving him a piece of your mind http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f11/has-anyone-been-banded-drs-philippe-quilici-michael-feiz-la-ca-35371/#post1179029

    Drinking after eating??

I'm just quoting my surgeon when I say that, literally he just said exact analogy this past Saturday when I asked him about this exact thing. If that's the case, then I'm being misinformed. I just figured he's a doctor, and well, I and you are not. But if it's bad advice, don't take it. I just am quoting what I was told

    What foods stick?

I agree with the above statement about how full your band is. I know for me, I can eat whatever I want. Which is a bad thing. I have no trouble with rice, breads, or anything. It just shows I need more of a fill. Just know that you can have sushi again (i do), but high carb foods are how we all get into this mess to begin with.
