    Alternative to NSAIDS?

I was told never to take NSAIDS again also. This was scary because I get migraines quite often, and Ibuprophen was the only thing that would help. The first migraine I had post surgery I tried liquid Goody's. The powder version has NSAIDS, but the liquid version was just acetaminophen. I don't know why, it may be because it was liquid, but almost instantly my pain faded. This never happens with any meds when I have a migraine. The next time I had a migraine it was the same thing. I have stocked up on these. They are liquid gold! They taste icky but well worth it.

    5wk post-op no loss for 3wks

My surgery was on 4/30/15. I lost 25lbs the first 3 weeks then stalled for 2 weeks. It was comforting to know I was not alone, however, it was still so frustrating. How could I eat 500-600 calories at my size and not drop weight. I did lose inches which was nice, but I am scale obsessed. The scale did mover again, and it seems to move almost daily now. I know another stall will come and hopefully I will be better equipped to power through it. Keep working your program the scale will move!

    Need advice / apprehensive

I wanted to back out too! After I had my revision and my doctor told me what a horrible state my stomach was in from that band I am so happy I went through with it. I would have ended up with emergency surgery eventually. And I had no idea that my band had caused that damage. The surgery and recovery was way easier than I thought. I am very happy I did it. I now have a tool that works the way I dreamed the band would but never did. I feel so much better with that band gone.
  4. Yup! I just got through it. The scale stared moving again yippee!

    Tomorrow is the day! Eeeekkkk

Good luck! You won't be miserable. You won't even be hungry.
  6. I had my revision six weeks ago. I hit a stall around week 4 for two weeks. I lost 3 lbs this last week putting me at 30lbs lost so far. Stick to protein, don't graze, and get your water in. The scale will move.
  7. Ostrim snack sticks Turkey Keilbasa with spicy mustard String Cheese Deli turkey spread w/ laughing cow cheese and rolled up
  8. I got my band in 2005. Lost 85 lbs the first year and then had horrible reflux issues. They took out the fluid and I yoyo dieted for 8 yrs. I finally decided to have revision surgery. I never liked the idea of bypass so when I heard about the sleeve I was all in. I had my surgery on 4/30 and I am so glad I did. The doc said my band was a mess and ended up pulling my stomach out in pieces. He said my stomach was close to closing off. Very scary. I can't begin to tell you how much better I feel with that band gone. No reflux, no more vomiting, no more stuck. And my hunger is gone, it never was with the band.
  9. "Yummy" lol. They do this the day after you get your sleeve too. I was happy to swallow then since I was so thirsty. It was neat to see my tiny pouch.

    Port site recovery

Nothing like that here. They just glued my incisions.
  11. One month post op (surgery date 4/30/15): 1. Lost 25 lbs by week 3 post op. 2. Hit first stall - no loss in last week 3. I am never hungry! 4. Doc wants me to eat six small meals a day 60-80g Protein. This is a real chore! food is no longer enticing. 5. I seem to eat about 600 to 800 calories per day. 6. Getting Water in is extremely hard during busy workweek. 7. I have been super lethargic this last week. Would love to hear from others in this similar timeframe.

Hi Nana. Are you on full liquids? I used a 3oz cup to make sure I didn't take in too much at once. The first couple weeks is constant sipping around the clock. When you get to soft foods make sure to always measure 1/4 cup. If you measure you won't need to worry about stretching your sleeve.

    3 week stall

Thank you so much for posting this. I was searching for stall posts and saw your post on 4/6. I was wondering how you were doing. How long did your stall last? It just feels like I'll never get moving again. Thank you for giving me hope. Congratulations! You are doing fantastic! Do you have any good meal suggestions?

. My surgery was 4/30/15. I have been stalled for two weeks now . It is so frustrating.
  19. Who is your surgeon? I had my band done in St. Pete by Dr. Renke and Dr. Grossbard. My revision was done in NC.

Is Miralax what is safe for us? Are there other options?
  21. Also. I did do it in one swoop. Very glad to be done. I had my band for 9 years. Doc said I was a mess but surgery went great! No complications. No nausea. 1 week later I could hardly tell I had surgery. Very glad I did it in one swoop.
  22. Very normal! And when you wake up on the other side you realize how glad you are that you did it! Hang in there!

It does sound like we are all experiencing similar issues right now. I did finally drop 2 more pounds. I tried a protein shake yesterday and it went well. I could not stomach them right after surgery. Hopefully that will help get my protein in.
