I lost about 15-20 lbs during the first month and a half. After I got my first fill is when it really shot off. I have to mainly stay away from red meat. Everything else is OK as long as I eat slowly and not too much. In regards to my social life- girl, it improved!! As sad as it is, society accepts beauty and the "healthy", well-kept body. I do not agree with how that is, but it's a fact... The only thing my surgery does semi-affect is when I go out to eat. I cannot sit and eat as much as everyone else so people question my health- like I have an eating disorder or something. What I have come to love is there is so much more to do than go out to eat... Why is that always the first option?? I did not have the surgery for anyone besides myself.... that is the only advice I can give you. Do it for you!!! You have to be mentally prepared for a LIFESTYLE change! Keep me posted on your progress... Let me know if you have anymore questions. ~Jamie

Hey Erin! Getting banded was the best decision I have ever made and do not regret the downturns of it. Post Op was easy... almost a little depressing just because I didn't loose too much weight.

Here is the company I got my financing through- APFUSA - A Loan Processing Company They are specifically for surgeries and stuff like that. It was VERY easy to get through the process. I got approved, the money sent, and surgery within one month of applying with APF. Let me know if it works out for you! Good Luck!

Hey girl! You are gorgeous! Are you thinking of getting banded?
I noticed in your picture-comment you said you were getting chubby again-I hated being on that roller-coaster, that's what made me decide to change it!
'Why fight it for the rest of my life?'
Let me know if you have any questions!!

Because our bodies are not able to consume a lot of fruits and veggies and healthy stuff, we sometimes get deprived of these. Plus, I am not a huge fruits and veggie eater.... any ways, Juice Plus+ is PURE fruits and veggies.... they even recommend this for pregnant women- that's how safe and healthy it is. I would suggest finding a supplement like this to provide those fruits and veggies for you..... definitely not a bad idea. If you're interested- www.juicepluscindy.com (Cindy Parker is my rep. She is EXTREMELY knowledgable about the product and our surgery!)
I wish you the best of luck!!! :-)

My biggest suggestion for a new bandster is to try to stay healthy!! I did not work out a lot until after I lost all of my weight. I, of course, watched what I ate, but my band did most of the work! When I lost a lot of weight, my health (on paper) was fabulous, however, I noticed small things like: dizziness, hair loss, trouble going 'potty', etc... After a shopping trip led to me fainting in the middle of the mall, I knew I had to do something... I started taking Juice Plus+ (gummies) and my life has dramatically changed.

Hi there! I apologize it has taken so long to get back to you.
I had surgery in March of 2007 and reached my goal weight in July of 2008 (16 months). There were times throughout my weightloss that I would 'plateau' and not loose any weight at all. This was the most frustrating thing. When this happened, I had to change something in my process. Even if it meant taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator... I noticed by adding something extra to my process, I was able to jump back into gear and loose the weight.
