  1. Good Morning everyone!

I found out last friday that I will be banded Feb. 16th and I was really trying to get my surgery on a friday so that I would have to take too many days off from work. (As you can see that didnt' work out considering my surgery date is a monday:thumbdown:) I just wanted to know how long did everyone wait before returning to work? I have a desk job so I figured I could probably return ealier than someone who is moving around a lot. In fact, I was thinking of trying to go back to work that thursday. What's your advice on that?

  2. I know what you mean I want to wait to buy new clothes too :cursing:. I meet with my surgeon on Feb. 2 for the pre-surgery consult and that will be the last thing I do before my surgery! I don't know about the pre-op diet. I've been reading a lot on here that some have to do it and some don't. My older sister (she was banded Dec. 5) didnt' have to do a pre-op diet. I guess it just varies from person to person. I know the main reason for putting people on the pre-op diet is to shrink their liver to make it more easy to get to the stomach during surgery. I'll let u know what they tell me on the 2nd :cursing:

  3. Wow 29lbs already!! That's amazing! You really inspire me. So what's been the hardest thing for you so far? And where did you have your surgery? I'm being banded by Dr. Smith at the Fort Worth Lapband. That's awesome you live so close. How much are you trying to lose? Can't wait to hear from you again.:)

  4. Good Afternoon,

I'm new to this forum and I would like to to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Alcine and I'm married to the greatest man in the world. Currently we live in North Richland Hills, TX. My husband is an Army recruiter and I'm a marketing coordinator at M.E.P. Consulting Engineers. I lived most of my life in Germany (my father was also in the army). I love to travel and I love meeting new people. I decided to get the lap band because I'm ready to make some serious changes in my life. I want to be in better shape and I want to be healthy. I feel that if I accomplish that I will be a lot happier with my life overall. Basically that will be one less thing I have to stress and worry about. I haven't got my date yet for surgery, hopefully I will hear something next week. Wish me luck :tongue2:! I would like to congratulate everyone who has decided to make a change with their life. Its not an easy journey but I know we all will make it. Good luck and God bless everyone. Feel free to write me anytime. Happy New Year!!!
