  1. Good afternoon ladies! I just wanted to see how everyone is feeling. I was feeling a lot better until today. My delayed time of the month decided to visit me. I don't know what it is about this time but I'm in so much pain. I always have really bad cramps but this time is almost unbearable. I'm supposed to return to work tomorrow but I already told my hubby if it doesn't get better I'm not going. I hope everyone else is doing better.

  2. Ok well I'm not an expert and I've only been banded for 3 days but i do know you're not supposed to drink while you eat. You're supposed to wait at least 30 mins after your meal because all your doing is pushing the food through the band which is probably while you're not feeling full as fast as you should which in turn is keeping you from losing weight. Also how big are your portions and are you excersing? These are all factors that can keep you from losing weight.

  3. :rose: Babe let me congratulate you first!!! We're in band land ** Happy Dance** :Dancing_wub:My surgery was supposed to be at 10:30 so they had me be there at 8:30. Well since they had some people before me they went over big time. I didn't get in until almost 1:30 and I was starving!!! lol. Well my surgery was a success obviously and my surgeon even said that I did great on my pre-op he said that my liver was so small he didnt even have to move it and it saved him 20 mins. Oh and i lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks from it!! Well to me more technical its nine but still you know?? I can't believe how worried about I was last night. I mean yes I'm in pain and I do have some gas pain in my shoulder too but this is all so worth it. I can't wait to hear everybody elses stories. Be safe down there in Mexico Babe and too all you others if you're not home yet. We're official Bandsters!!!!!

  4. Hey everyone! I just wanted to wish you all luck tomorrow! I pray that surgeries are successful and that you will heal fast. I'll be honest, I'm actually feeling a lot more nervous now. I know I'm just psyching myself out but its like I just want to make sure that I'm doing this for the right reason. I know I'm doing this for my health, my knee (tore my acl and meniscus in my right knee) and I do want to look and feel better about myself but I don't want to do this for vanity you know? I guess its really late in the game to be thinking about this but I'm just want to be sure with myself that I'm making the right decision. :cursing: You know what? I know I'm making the right decision. I don't want to live like this anymore. I don't want my weight to rule me and I want to be comfortable in my own skin. Ok I know I'm sounding crazy right now lol.:scared2:I hope I'm not the only one feeling this way lol. Really everyone be safe and I'll update you after my surgery and I look forward to everyone else's updates!

I'm going to try to go to sleep now. Night everyone! :crying:

  5. I'll be honest, I'm not keeping my band a secret simply because I'm proud. No one can say anything to me about making a positive change in my life. I totally understand your point though of not wanting to be watched with your eating and how fast your losing weight but everyone is different. You could be doing everything right and still not lose as fast as some else. And also those people who decide to judge you on how fast you're suppose to be losing..who made them doctors??? u know? thats just my two cents on this. Congrats to you though for getting the band and good luck with your pre-op diet. They have me on the low carb/fat high Protein diet for mine. Keep in touch!

  6. As soon as I got home from the pharmacy, my surgeon's office called, giving me the time I am supposed to report to the hospital on MONDAY!

So, assuming my potassium is back up to normal levels, I should be having my surgery on the 16th @ 1:30pm!!!

I am cautiously optomistic! If I have to go thru another dress rehearsal, I wll smack someone! LOL!

    Hugs,

Congrats and welcome to the 2/16 Banders!!!

  7. Ok first off just remember the most important thing, why you are doing this. I know surgery is scary but it will be over before you know it. I've only had one other surgery in my life and it was on my knee so I kinda know what to expect. And don't think about the friday the 13th thing. That is just a superstition and they only way superstitions have their power is if you believe in them (I know it sounds corny lol but just trying to help ) Think of it as the first day of you becoming the person you've always dreamed of. I'm a couple days after you and I'm more excited than nervous now. You will do just fine and I promise you, you will look back at this realize it wasn't that bad . Good luck to you and stay in touch.

  8. Well my fellow February Bandsters you have spoken. It looks like the February 09 bandsters new name will be the February Foxes!!:) To all of you who have already been banded this month congrats and I hope you are doing well, and to everyone like who will be banded soon good luck and best wishes!

  9. Good Morning fellow Bandsters!! Can ya'll believe we have 10 more day until bandland!! I'm soo excited, scared, nervous and happy. My best friend gave me some really good advice that I would like to share with everyone who is feeling what I'm feeling, "Think about why you are doing this and that the benefit is greater than the pain, the pain will only last a few days, but if your serious about losing this weight you will benefit a lifetime from this." Everytime I feel anxiety about this I think about what she said to me. I hope that helps anyone. I will be banded by Dr. Adam Smith of the Fort Worth Lapband. Good luck everyone and keep in touch!

  10. I started my pre-op diet on Monday. I was given the choice of a 2-week low carb/fat high Protein diet or 1 week liquid. The first day was really hard between lunch and dinner I was starving!! So now I bring low fat string cheese with me after lunch to work to hold me over. Also for people on this diet who miss their rice and pasta- I found a really good substitute for the rice- cauliflower! :thumbup:And so far everything I've used it with has been good. Basically take the cauliflower, and put it through the food processor (or blender should work) until it's ground up into small pieces. Then, you can steam it like rice. **Important don't add water! Just put it in a sealed bowl and microwave as is so it stays fluffy like rice. And if you need other recipes here's a pretty good website I found: LowCarbFriends Recipes - Main Index - Powered by ReviewPost. Good luck to everyone and keep in touch!

  11. Awesome! I can't tell you how hard it is to find shoes in an 11W...I either need to go cheap (Payless) or expensive (Nordstrom). I can't walk into a normal shoe or department store and buy shoes. I'm hoping my feet do get smaller!

I know exactly how you feel!! We wear the same shoe size!Thank you for posting this!! I hope that my feet shrink a little to after my Lap band! Good luck to you and keep in touch!
