  1. That fill hurt! Maybe I'm just a baby, but it stung really bad. I don't feel a difference yet but that may be because I was on liquids yesterday and I start pureed food today. My doctor was the one who told me to get the fill, in fact all his patients are to come in on their 4 week post op to get filled.

Congrats to you too Babe on your 25lbs!!

  2. Good Morning Everyone! Well I got my first fill today and honestly, it kinda hurt a little. I got 3.5 ccs and I have a 10 cc band. So I'm back on liquids today and its not so bad and my total weight loss is 25 lbs!! Yay! I'm down to 222 as of today! I guess me getting strict after that cake helped.

  3. Hey Ashley,

Well you just got banded so you probably won't feel any restriction yet. Most people have no Fluid or very little Fluid in their band to start off. This time until your first fill is meant for healing. Be careful you're still making the right food choice, eating Proteins first and not drinking anything 30 mins before and after eating a meal. It should take you about 20-30 mins to eat too. I am the same way right now, I feel like I can eat anything except if I don't chew well I do PB a little. I get my first fill next week and to be honest these last two weeks I haven't lost anything. I blame some of the poor food choices I made and that I'm not as active right now. Just be really careful and try to follow what your surgeon says. (key word there "try") Good luck to you!

  4. Mornin' gang.

Well, last night I had some chicken breast for dinner. I don't know if I got some stuck, or what, but after a few bites, I got his horrendous pain! It started on my left side and kinda crawled down my torso. It scared the snot out of me for a second. I thought I had hurt myself. But after a few minutes it went completely away. TOTALLY weird!

Anyone else have this happen to them? Anyway, I am staying away from chicken for awhile. Back to ground turkey for me! :)

    Hugs,

That has happened to me too, but for me I think I was eating too fast. My doctor said when moving to solid foods that meats should be moist to help with it going down. I'm not trying to accuse your chicken of being dry:tongue2: but that could've also been a possiblity. Oh and check out my new pic I posted of my scars

  5. Since my weigh in three weeks before surgery (about 7 weeks ago) I have lost 30lbs. Don't make yourself nuts with the scale and remember that weight can fluctuate a few lbs each day because of things like Water retention and time of day you weigh. I stopped weighing myself in between my one week post-op visit and my 1st fill because I knew I was going to lose my mind if I did.

Just keep focused and know that when you get that first fill you will feel a lot better, I know I did.

Wow that is so encouraging!! Thank you! And congrats on your 30lbs! one more week until my first fill!!!

  6. i'm so bummed, i just did my weekly weigh in and i haven't lost anything!!! just finished 3 weeks of liquids too... this is so frustrating. i know i'm not really supposed to lose much till my first fill, but i thought for sure i would lose during liquids.

Well Babe I'm right there with you. I gained weight and lost it and now I've been going back and forth between 230 and 226. This morning I weighed in at 226 but I guarantee if I weigh myself tonight it'll be like 228/229. I was told we're not suppose to stress on weight loss during this time because we're supposed to be focused on healing.... easier said than done lol, I can't help but weigh myself everyday lol. We'll just be frustrated together!

  7. Oh my gosh.........if I had a german chocolate cake in the house....LOOK OUT! Thanks for the offer, but, whooof, that would just send me over the edge. Will power would go right out the window! :crying:

I too, can't wait for my first fill. (the 18th!!) I feel like I really screwed up this weekend. I ate some not-so-fat-free-food over the weekend. I am soooo mad at myself!

IWALKTHELINE~ There are a few people in my life who ask me every single time I see them, "How much weight have you lost? Still being good??" It drives me NUTS! I kinda feel like they are waiting for me to fail. But, I think really they are hoping for my success.

    Hugs,

Lol I know what you mean. Also to comment on the everyone asking how much weight you loss, I at first was very proud to admit that I got my band but now I feel I shouldn't have said it. My DH is an army recruiter and all the wives and girlfriends in his station are all teeny tiny women. This past weekend we went bowling and I felt like all of them were just looking at me to see if I lost anything. I really wanted to say something like, its not magic you know?? And it hasn't even been a month yet. It is frustrating.

  8. Hey there! First congrats on being banded. As for the BM it took almost a week for me to have one. I wouldn't get too worried unless its going on two weeks and if that happens you need to call your doctor. As for Soup ideas.... I basically did the same as you. My husband made chicken and cream of chicken soup and blended up really good and that was a little more filling. I started of eating about 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup of food. As the swelling goes down in your stomach you will be able to eat more but you have to be careful and make good food choices. When I went onto mushies I gained 3-4lbs back mainly b/c I made one bad food choice and I feel like I can eat more. I don't want you to make the same mistake. I hope that helps and keep in touch!
