  1. Good Afternoon everyone. :smile:Its that time of the week again to weigh in! I unfortunately have no loss to report today:crying:. I haven't gained anything either though, so I'm trying to stay positive about it. I do have one huge frustration however, and that is that I've lost about 30 lbs and its not that noticeable. I mean my clothes are a little more loose but not to wear I'm doing down a size. Everyone tells me they can tell in my face:huh2: but I know that I didn't have 30 lbs just in my face. I read on another thread that you lose it in reverse the way you gain it. Any one else feeling that way?

  2. I haven't checked in for awhile and thought I would do so. I am down about 20 lbs,

Congratulations on your weightloss to date!! I got about 3.5 ccs on my first fill and the first week I felt some restriction. Now I'm able to eat just about anything again. I go for my 2nd fill on 4/16.

  3. What the heck? Although how they fit has changed, I am still wearing pants I wore before surgery. I am down 50 and should be in a smaller size.

My question to you gals, this is kind of personal, but I am 5'4 and 245 wearing size 20. For those with similar dementions, about what weight were you when you got into an 18, 16, 14, and 12?

My curves are everywhere by the way, hourglass shape.

Well I can't answer your question but I'm the same way. I'm only about 30 lbs down but still am wearing the same clothes size. It sucks and is very frustrating. My husband said its because I'm not working out like I should but still 30lbs (and in your case 50 lbs) is still a loss. It should show some where. Are you working out at all?

  4. Hey Lisamichele, first and foremost, welcome and congrats on your 30 lb loss! Now to the issue at hand, I've only been banded for 1 month and week now but I noticed right before I got my first fill, I was super hungry and making some bad food choices. Are you getting enough Protein in? That is the first question I ask because its very important that you are 1. it keeps you from being too hungry and 2. it helps you lose weight. We're supposed to get between 40-60 grams of protein a day. Also how much did you get in your first fill and how big is your band? My doctor said that if you have a 10 cc band you sweet spot will be between 6-8 ccs and if you have 14 cc band it will be between 9-11 ccs. I only have 3.5ccs in my band right now (10 cc) and I feel the restriction already. Also are you chewing your food really well? The slower you eat your food the faster you will feel full. Don't be embarresed to see your doc on thursday, they're there to help. Plus, he may be able to distinguish way better than I on exactly what's going on with you. Good luck!!

  5. i am going i for my first fill tomorrow and i am going to have to go back to liquids for a few days. i don't eat near as much anymore, but the weight isn't falling off yet. only about 1-2 pounds a week. i will let ya all know the update after the fill. i really notice a difference in the tightness of my band during pms. also a big decrease in appetite. before the band it used to be the opposite. anyone else notice this?

I have noticed a difference during pms also. Good luck on your fill today!!!

  6. it's the closest fill center to me. the fill doctor near my house doesn't use fluoro and hasn't much experience. since i was banded in Mexico, i wanted my aftercare facility to be as experienced as possible to avoid any complications. when i emailed my surgeon about when i should schedule a fill, i was told 6-8 weeks post op. i can't say i like that, but i'm going to follow doctor's orders.

Oh of course always follow doc's orders. Well good luck to you and don't get too frustrated. I had to keep reminding myself that the weeks before my first fill were only for healing.

  7. Oh ok I understand that. It seems like you're doing everything you're supposed to do but I totally get the falling into old patterns thing. We just have to be stronger than that. I'm sure once you get your fill you will start losing again. That bites its so far away. In particular reason why you chose that?

  8. Hi Alcine, congrats on the loss! I haven't lost a pound this week. It's kind of depressing, but since I haven't had a fill yet and I haven't made the best choices, I'm not really surprised.

Babe, I'm sorry you didn't lose anything. I know that fill helped me out a lot because two weeks prior to it, i had stalled at 226. Also I wasnt' making the best choices either...german chocolate cake..so evil but so good lol. How many calories are you taking in a day? And are you getting your Protein in? I noticed that when I started getting more Protein in, my weightloss started up again. Have you scheduled your fill yet?

  9. I am so sorry to hear that you're not doing to well with your band. I've only been banded for about a month now but one thing I've learned from reading posts and what has helped me is of course trying your best to kee active and make sure you're getting your Protein in. I read about a slow loser who only lost about 35 lbs her first year and her second year she reached her goal by simply increasing her protein. I know that its really hard to keep at it when you don't see results and going back to old habits isn't good either. We did this for a reason and you must first and foremost realize that this isn't a quick fix. We didn't gain all of our weight in a day and nor will we lose it all in one day. When you're eating, are you making sure that you are chewing really well? I noticed that once I started to chew and take smaller bites, I was able to keep food down and feel more satisfied. It does take practice, especially if you're like me and was eating military style all the time-- swallowing and not chewing lol. I do hope that with your new insurance that you can get a more support. Remember the band is just a tool in our weightloss. I do hope that helps and if you ever need to talk just let me know.

  10. Trust me it is not that bad at all, and is so worth it. I've only been banded for just a little over a month now and I have no regrets. I personally feel the hardest part is waiting for the approval, just because you're so anxious to get it done. The good thing about anestesia is its over before you even know it. The tests they perform are just to make sure your surgery goes as safely. Everything they do is for a reason, and if this is something you really want it will all be worth it in the end. Good luck to you.
