  1. I had my surgery in Monterey Mexico with Dr Rumbaut, He is one of the doctors that developed the surgical technique for the Lapband in the beginning and was part of the Lapband trials prior to the FDA trials in the US. He was such an amazing man, I traveled there early on Monday, had a pre-appointment (blood work and such) also on Monday later in the day, and then went to visit Dr. Rumbaut. I had the surgery the next day, in a somewhat small but BRAND NEW, GORGUS hospital, it was the Christus Muguerza hospital and the nurses were amazing and spoke English which was a plus. I paid $7900 for everything (the surgery, transportation, and hotel). But nothing puts a price on how safe you feel, I personally know a lot of people that had it done with him all with fabulous results and he has a lot of contacts here in the US that will do your fills. Most doctors in the US will not touch another doctor’s work, but he has a lot of colleges that know him and trust him, that shows a lot about his character. I can’t say enough about him, but be prepared to get some looks when you say “I’m having a surgery in Mexico” most people don’t get it, but when you know people that have great experiences there, it shouldn’t matter.

If you want more info on him you can either email or call Cathy Pickren, she is in his US office, cathy@gastricband.com or 1-888-456-1211.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

  2. I had my sugery on Dec 16, 2008 and I am down 10 pounds, every day for me gets better and better... I still cannot sleep on my stomach but that will come soon...

I feel tired too but I take an hour nap at some point during the day and I'm back!

Good luck on your future weight loss..Its a great start out to the new year!

  3. I was banded two weeks ago... and I am 10 pounds down!!!

    It feels amazing.....

I don't know about anyone ese but I have days where I don't even have a craving for food and I only eat because I need the energy and other days where I want to eat everything but can't and won't because I KNOW I'll feel like crap afterwards. I had way too much soup one night and felt horrible (never again). The full liquid diet isn't as hard as I thought I am very excited to move to soft foods.

This was the perfect start to the New Year.

    I am so excited!!!!
